Giving of the Ten Commandments…Shofar, resurrection, return of Elohim

Exo 19:15  And he said to the people, Be ready* for the third day** (Hos 6:2). Do not approach a woman.

*Ready=kun.  The Hebrew word kun, is a picture of the resurrection

kunKun is the root word for Kohen which is the Hebrew word for priest & adorn.

Isa 61:10  Rejoicing I will rejoice in YHWH. My soul shall be joyful in my God. For He clothed me with garments of salvation {pointing to the resurrection where we will be given body like the Messiah 1 Joh 3:2 to reign as kings and priests Psa 132:9, 16}; He put on me the robe of righteousness, even as a bridegroom dons (kahan) as a priest his head-dress, and as a bride wears her ornaments.
Isa 61:11  For as the earth comes out with her buds, and as a garden causes that which is sown to grow, so the Lord YHWH will make righteousness and praise to grow before all the nations.

For the 3rd day**

Hos 6:1  Come and let us return to YHWH. For He has torn, and He will heal us. He has stricken, and He will bind us up.
Hos 6:2  After two days He will bring us to life.
In the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live before Him.
Hos 6:3  Then we shall know, we who follow on to know YHWH. His going forth is established as the dawn. And
He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain to the earthThe rains are a picture of the 2 comings of Messiah.  The spring feasts point to His first coming, the fall feasts point to His second coming.

Exo 19:16  And on the third day, it being morning, it happened: There were thunders and lightnings, and a heavy cloud on the mountain, and the sound of a ram’s horn (Heb. shofar), very strong! And all the people in the camp trembled.
Exo 19:17  And Moses caused the people to go up from the camp to meet God. And they took their stand at the lower part of the mountain.
Exo 19:18  And the mountain of Sinai was smoking, all of it, because YHWH came down on it in fire. And its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace; and the mountain quaked exceedingly.
Exo 19:19  And it happened while the sound of the shofar was sounding, and becoming very strong, Moses spoke. And God answered him by a voice.
Exo 19:20  And YHWH came down on the mountain of Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and YHWH called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

When the Almighty comes back, it will be similar to what happened at Mt. Sinai.

Psa 50:3  Our God comes, and He is not silent; a fire shall devour before Him; and it shall be very stormy around Him.

Psa 50:4  He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, to judge His people.
Psa 50:5  Gather My saints
click here together to Me, those who cut My covenant by sacrifice.
Psa 97:1  YHWH reigns!
{the Coronation of the king is theme of Yom Teruah} Let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of islands be glad.

Psa 97:2  Clouds and darkness are all around Him; righteousness and judgment are the foundation of His throne.
Psa 97:3
A fire goes before Him and burns up His enemies all around.
Psa 97:4  His lightnings lit up the world; the earth saw and trembled.
Psa 97:5  The mountains melted like wax before the face of YHWH, before the face of YHWH of the whole earth.

Israel came to the mountain to hear YHWH teach the Torah.  When the Messiah returns the same thing shall occur.
Isa 2:2  And it shall be in the last days, the mountain of the house of YHWH shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow into it.
Isa 2:3  And many people shall go and say, Come and let us go up to the mount of YHWH, to the house of the God of Jacob. And He will teach from His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For out of Zion the Law will go forth, and the Word of YHWH from Jerusalem.

Joel connects Repentance & Announcing the Day of YHWH

Joe 2:1  Blow a ram’s horn in Zion, and shout an alarm in My holy mountain. Let all those living in the land tremble. For the day of YHWH approaches; it is near,

Joe 2:12  Yet even now turn to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning, declares YHWH.
Joe 2:13  Yea, tear your heart, and not your robes; and turn to YHWH your God. For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and He pities concerning the evil.
Joe 2:14  Who knows if He will turn and have pity and leave a blessing behind Him, a food offering and a drink offering for YHWH your God?
Joe 2:15
Blow a ram’s horn in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly.
Joe 2:16  Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, gather the elders, gather the children, and those who suck the breasts. Let the bridegroom go out of his room, and the bride out of her room.
Joe 2:17  Let the priests, ministers of YHWH, weep between the porch and the altar; and let them say, Have pity on Your people, O YHWH, and do not give Your inheritance to shame, for a proverb among those of the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?
Joe 2:18  Then YHWH will be jealous for His land and have pity on His people.

When does YHWH remember His people and the Land?  It is after His people repent.

Lev 26:40  And if they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass with which they have trespassed against Me; and, also, that they have walked contrary to Me,
Lev 26:41  that I also have walked contrary to them, and I have brought them into the land of their enemies; if their uncircumcised hearts are then humbled, and they then have accepted punishment for their iniquity;
Lev 26:42
then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and I shall also remember My covenant with Abraham, and I shall remember the land.

Zephaniah also associates the day of YHWH with the shofar

Zep 1:14  The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
Zep 1:15  That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
Zep 1:16  A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

Eze 33:5  He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

Eze 33:12  And you, son of man, say to the sons of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his trespass. 2Pe 3:9  The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
1Ti 2:1  I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Ti 2:2  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1Ti 2:3  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
1Ti 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1Ti 2:6  Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Keil and Delitszch commentary

We have before us a figure of that which is called in the post-bibl. Heb. כַּלָה הַכְנָסַת (the bringing-home of the bride). The bridegroom either betook himself to her parents’ house and fetched his bride thence, which appears to be the idea lying at the foundation of Ps 45, if, as we believe, the ivory-palaces are those of the king of Israel’s house; or she was brought to him in festal procession, and he went forth to meet her, 1 Macc. 9:39 – the prevailing custom, on which the parable of the ten virgins (Matt 25) is founded.
Here the bride comes from a great distance; and the difference in rank between the Galilean maid and the king brings this result, that he does not himself go and fetch her, but that she is brought to him. She comes, not as in old times Rebecca did, riding on a camel, but is carried in a mittā, which is surrounded by an escort for protection and as a mark of honour. Her way certainly led through the wilderness, where it was necessary, by a safe convoy, to provide against the possibility (min in mippahad, cf. Isa_4:6; Isa_25:4) of being attacked by robbers; whereas it would be more difficult to understand why the marriage-bed in the palace of the king of peace (1Ch_22:9) should be surrounded by such an armed band for protection. That Solomon took care to have his chosen one brought to him with royal honours, is seen in the lavish expenditure of spices, the smoke and fragrance of which signalized from afar the approach of the procession, – the mittā, which is now described, can be no other than that in which, sitting or reclining, or half sitting, half reclining, she is placed, who is brought to him in such a cloud of incense.

The children of Israel were led in the wilderness to their husband and  to their home, the promised land of Israel.  Solomon, a picture of Messiah, is brought to his bride with pillars of smoke, pointing to Isaiah 4 and the exodus from Egypt where the pillar of cloud led Israel.

John Gill commentary:

in the time appointed; so Aben Ezra, Jarchi, and Kimchi, interpret the word of a set fixed time; see Pro_7:20, the word (a) used has the signification of covering; and the former of these understand it of the time just before the change of the moon, when it is covered, which falls in with the former phrase; and so the Targum,

“in the moon that is covered;”

Rabbi Eliezer describes the molad(conjunction) as a “twinkling of an eye” in Rabbi Eliezer-The Course of the Moon p55
