Daily Tidbits 2/1 – February

February comes from the Latin ‘februarius mensis’ which means ‘month of purification.’  ‘Februa’ means ‘purification.’  Purity and purification are associated with the Word.

Pro 30:5  Every Word of God is refined, He is a shield to those who seek refuge in Him.
Psa 12:6  The Words of YHWH are pure Words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times.
Psa 19:8  The precepts of YHWH are right, rejoicing the heart. The commands of YHWH are pure, giving light to the eyes.
Psa 19:9  The fear of YHWH is clean, enduring forever. The judgments of YHWH are true, they are righteous altogether.
Psa 119:140  Your Word is pure and Your servant loves it.

The English words ‘pure’ and ‘February’ trace back to the Hebrew word בר ‘bar’ which means pure.
Psa 19:8  The precepts of YHWH are right, rejoicing the heart. The commands of YHWH are pure, giving light to the eyes.

בר ‘bar’ refers to the Son
Psa 2:12  Kiss the Son (בר ‘bar’), lest He be angry, and you perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Oh the blessings of all those who flee to Him for refuge!
Pro 30:4  Who has gone up to Heaven, and come down? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in His garments? Who has made all the ends of the earth to rise? What is His name, and what is His Son’s (בר ‘bar’) name? Surely you know.
Pro 30:5  Every Word of God is refined (צרף ‘tsaraph’ pure), He is a shield to those who seek refuge in Him.

Purification of the bride.  Purification is done through fire (צרף ‘tsaraph’) and water (טהור ‘tahor’) both words are translated as pure or purify.

Psa 51:7  Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Psa 51:9  Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
Psa 51:10  Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Eph 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave Himself up on its behalf,
Eph 5:26  that He might sanctify it, cleansing it by the washing of the water in the Word,
Eph 5:27  that He might present it to Himself as the glorious assembly, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such things, but that it be holy and without blemish.
Eph 5:28  So, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies, (he loving his wife loves himself),
Eph 5:29  for then no one hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as also the Lord the assembly.
Eph 5:30  For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.
Eph 5:31  “For this, a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.” Gen. 2:24
Eph 5:32  The mystery is great, but I speak as to Christ and as to the assembly.
Eph 5:33  However, you also, everyone, let each one love his wife as himself, and the wife, that she give deference to the husband.
1Jn 1:7  But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of His Son Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.
Rev 1:4  John to the seven assemblies in Asia: Grace to you, and peace, from the One who is, and who was, and who is coming, and from the seven spirits which are before His throne;
Rev 1:5  even from Jesus Christ the Faithful Witness, the First-born out of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him loving us and washing us from our sins by His blood,
Rev 1:6  and made us kings and priests to God, even His Father. To Him is the glory and the might forever and ever. Amen.
Rev 1:7  “Behold, He comes with the clouds,” and “every eye will see Him, and the ones who pierced” Him, and all the tribes of the earth “will wail on account of Him.” Yes, Amen. Dan. 7:13; Zech. 12:10
Rev 7:13  And one of the elders answered, saying to me, These, the ones having been clothed in the white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?
Rev 7:14  And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are those coming out of the great tribulation; and they washed their robes and whitened them in the blood of the Lamb.
Rev 7:15  Because of this they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary. And He sitting on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.
Rev 7:16  And they will not hunger still, nor will they thirst still, nor at all shall fall on them the sun, nor any kind of heat.
Rev 7:17  Because the Lamb in the midst of the throne will shepherd them, and will lead them on living springs of waters; and God will wipe off every tear from their eyes.

Eze 36:24  For I will take you from the nations and gather you out of all the lands and bring you into your land.
Eze 36:25  Then I will sprinkle clean waters on you, and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from all your defilement and from all your idols.
Eze 36:26  And I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27  And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments and do them.
Eze 36:28  And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers. And you shall be a people to Me, and I will be God to you.
Eze 37:22  And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one King shall be for a king to all of them. And they shall not be two nations still. And they will not be split into two kingdoms any more.
Eze 37:23  And they will not still be defiled with their idols, even with their filthy idols, nor with all of their transgressions. But I will save them out of all their dwelling places where they have sinned in them, and I will cleanse them. So they shall be for a people to Me and I will be for God to them.
Eze 37:24  And My Servant, David, shall be King over them. And there shall be one Shepherd to all of them. And they shall walk in My judgments and keep My statutes, and do them.

Mal 3:1  Behold, I am sending My messenger, and He will clear the way before Me. And the Lord whom you are seeking shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Angel of the Covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He comes, says YHWH of Hosts.
Mal 3:2  But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fuller’s soap.
Mal 3:3  And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and He shall purify the sons of Levi and purge them like gold and like silver, that they may be presenters of a grain offering in righteousness to YHWH.
Jer 23:29  Is not My Word thus like fire, says YHWH, and like a hammer which breaks a rock in pieces?

Psa 24:4  He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to vanity and has not sworn deceit.
Psa 24:5  He shall lift up the blessing from YHWH, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Psa 24:6  This is the generation of those seeking Him; they seek Your face, O God of Jacob. Selah.
Psa 24:7  Lift up your heads, O gates; and be lifted up, O everlasting doors; and the King of Glory shall come in.
Psa 24:8  Who is this King of Glory? YHWH strong and mighty! YHWH mighty in battle!
Psa 24:9  Lift up your heads, O gates; even lift up, O everlasting doors; and the King of Glory shall come in.
Psa 24:10  Who is this King of Glory? YHWH of Hosts, He is the King of Glory. Selah.
