Biblical Basis for Modern Science – Henry Morris pg 185
“…thermodynamics could practically be considered as synonymous with science, since its concepts and laws embrace all scientific processes in all scientific discipline.
Science points to the Messiah.
The English word science comes from the Latin word ‘scientia’ which means “to know”. This corresponds to the Hebrew word דע ‘dah,’ from whence both ידע ‘yada’ and דעת ‘daat’ come.

To see the door…who is the Door? Messiah
Joh 10:7 Then Jesus again said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you that I am the door of the sheep.
All the treasures of science (knowledge) are in Messiah:
Col 2:3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and of knowledge.
“Thermodynamics (a word coined from two Greek words – often used in the New Testament – meaning ‘heat power’).
The study of heat also points to the Creator, who is described as a consuming fire.
Deu 4:24 For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.
The Word of God is likened unto a fire as well.
Deu 33:2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

“The first law is commonly considered as synonymous with the law of conservation of energy. By ‘energy’ is means ‘an entity which does, or has the capacity to do, work.’ ‘Work’ is the product of a force and the distance through which that force operates.”… {Biblical Basis for Modern Science pg 186}
Henry Morris continues quoting Isaac Asimov, “To express all this, we can say: ‘Energy can be transferred from one place to another, or transformed from one form to another, but it can be neither created nor destroyed.’ Or we can put it another way : ‘The total quantity of energy in the universe is constant.’ This law is considered the most powerful and most fundamental generalization about the universe that scientists have ever been able to make.” {Biblical Basis for Modern Science pg 187}
“Isaac Asimov describes the 2nd law of Thermodynamics as ‘Another way of stating the Second Law, then, is: ‘The universe is constantly getting more disorderly.’…everything deteriorates, collapses, breaks down, wears out, all by itself – and that is what the Second Law is all about.'” {Biblical Basis for Modern Science pg 188}

The two laws of thermodynamics point to the ’10 Commandments’ which are related in two portions of Scripture, Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. There are two different reasons why we are to keep the Sabbath day. To remember the Lord as our Creator, and to remember Him as our Redeemer.
Exodus 20 refers to the Most High as our Creator:
Exo 20:11 For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all which is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; on account of this Jehovah blessed the sabbath day and sanctified it.
Deuteronomy 5 refers to the Most High as our Redeemer:
Deu 5:15 And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm. On account of this Jehovah your God has commanded you to keep the sabbath day.
Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath
Luk 6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
G2962 κυριος kurios koo’-ree-os
From κυρος kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, that is, (as noun) controller;
Thayer Definition:
1) he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master, lord
Jesus is our Creator
Col 1:15 who is the image of the invisible God, the First-born of all creation.
Col 1:16 For all things were created in Him, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, the visible and the invisible; whether thrones, or lordships, or rulers, or authorities, all things have been created through Him and for Him.
Jesus is our Redeemer
Tit 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
Tit 2:14 who gave Himself on our behalf, “that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify a special people for Himself,” zealous of good works.
1) Conservation of energy/mass – Creation, that which God does is forever (Ecclesiastes 3:14). Energy is the ability for work to be performed. It was on the 7th day that the Lord rested from His work.
2) Entropy – Redemption – Only the Word is eternal (Matthew 24:35). Adam fell, the 2nd Adam redeems. This will be fully revealed on the 7th day (7th millenium) (Hebrews 4:1-10).

In the TaNaKH, the word most frequently translated as ‘power’, is the Hebrew כוח ‘koach’. The Voice of God/His Word is spoken of as power.
Psa 29:4 The voice of Jehovah is in power (כוח ‘koach); the voice of Jehovah in majesty.
“Of all unifying concepts in the whole field of physical science, that of energy has proved to be the most significant and useful. Not only has it played a major role in the development of science, but, by common consent, it is the physical concept which has had and still has the widest influence on human life in all its aspects.” {Biblical Basis for Modern Science pg 223}
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful {ἐνεργης ‘energes’}, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
1Th 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh {ἐνεργεω ‘energeo’} also in you that believe.
Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh {ἐνεργεω ‘energeo’} all things after the counsel of his own will:
Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought {ἐνεργεω ‘energeo’} in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Matter & Energy are the two basic components of the universe.
“…all you see is matter and energy. There are many kinds of matter and many kinds of energy, but when all is said and done, you’re left with these two things. Scientists used to believe that these two were separate and distinct, but now they realize that matter and energy are linked.” {Chemistry for Dummies pg 15}
Energy comes from ‘light’ which is the Hebrew word אור ‘ohr’ which means order. Matter traces back etymologically to the Hebrew word for ‘word’ דבר ‘davar’ which also means order.

“The Energy of Sound and Heat:
Sound is another form of energy, moving out as a wave from its source…’So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world’ (Rom. 10:17-18)
This passage is quoted by Paul from Psalm 19:4. The latter part of the verse refers to the sun and calls attention to the heat energy radiated from the sun to all the earth, providing the warmth necessary for life to be sustained. The same energy source also produces the thunder associated with the rains. Thus the heat energy from the sun is almost as important as the light energy therefrom and, of course, we have already noted that heat is really a form of light….Therefore, heat energy, like sound energy, is pictured to us as analogous to the process whereby the Word of God through the testimony of Christians, both individually and corporately, is used to witness and convert.” {Biblical Basis for Modern Science pg 227-228}
