Daily Tidbits 5/28 – 3rd month Sivan

daily tidbits 3rd month sivan

The name of the 3rd month in the Biblical calendar is סיון ‘siyvan’ which means “their covering” or protection as in corrals which shepherds would make to protect their flocks at night.  סיון ‘siyvan’ comes from the root סן ‘sen’ which means a thorn, as in the thorn bushes used to construct these aforementioned corrals.

It was in the third month that Israel was brought to Sinai {סיני ‘sinai’ from סן ‘sen’} to receive the Ten Commandments (Exodus 19:1).  Israel arrived in Sinai after they left the wilderness of Sin {סין ‘siyn’ – thorn} and Rephidim {רפידים ‘rephidim’ – rest, as in spreading out a sheet on a bed (covering)}.

Exo 19:1  In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
Exo 17:1  And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.
Exo 19:2  For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.
Exo 19:3  And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
Exo 19:4  Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.
Exo 19:5  Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
Exo 19:6  And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

The curse upon Adam was expulsion from Eden with the earth bringing forth thorns and thistles (Genesis 3:18).  How did God remedy this so that man could be brought back into His presence?  He sent forth His Torah/Word upon Mt. Sinai (thorns) and instituted the law of animal sacrifices that would keep man covered/atoned for so that His Glory could dwell in our midst.  This was a foreshadow of YHWH sending His Son (the Torah/Word made flesh) and taking upon Himself our sins/curse (thorns) so that we could be covered/atoned for, that His Glory can dwell in our midst.

Rev 21:3  And I heard a great voice out of Heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God with men! And He will tabernacle with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.

3rd Month

In the Scriptures, there are only two words which have the numerical value of 3.  אב ‘av’ which means father, and בא ‘bo’ which means come.  אב ‘av’ literally pictures the tent pole (strong support) and בא ‘bo’ depicts the physical picture of filling a void, as in an empty tent being walking into.  In the third month, YHWH came down upon Mt. Sinai that He might ‘fill the void’ of His presence in the earth and dwell with/in man (Exodus 25:8; 29:15; 2 Corinthian 6:16).  After the resurrection of Messiah, the Holy Spirit was sent in the third month to accomplish this same purpose (Acts 2:1-47).

Further connecting to the tent/house and the Father is the number 913.  The first word of the Scriptures is בראשית ‘bereshiyt’ (In the Beginning) which has the numerical value of 913.  God the Father in Greek  {Ο Θεος Ο Πατερ ‘O Theos O Pater’} has an exact numerical equivalent.

Interestingly, 913 also is associated with His House.  The first letter of the Scriptures is an enlarged ב ‘bet’ in the word בראשית ‘bereshiyt.‘  The ב ‘bet’ in Hebrew means the house.    ראש בית ‘rosh bayit’ (first house) and את בשרי ‘et basri’ (my flesh) also have the numeric value of 913.

Messiah Jesus connects the house to His flesh.

Joh 2:19  Jesus said to them, Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up.
Joh 2:20  Then the Jews said, This sanctuary was forty six years being built, and do You raise it up in three days?
Joh 2:21  But He spoke about the sanctuary of His body.

In Psalm 98:2, the Scripture speaks of the Word becoming flesh.

Psa 98:2  The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.

The phrase הודיע יהוה ישׁועתו  ‘hodiya YHWH yeshuato’ (YHWH has made known His salvation) has the numeric value of 913 as well…

Connecting light and the tent…The coming of Messiah is spoken of as light shining through the darkness.  The phrase, אור יולם ‘ohr olam’ (everlasting) also has the numeric value of 913.

Isa 60:1  Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isa 60:2  For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Isa 60:3  And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Isa 60:19  The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light {אור יולם ‘ohr olam’}, and thy God thy glory.
Isa 60:20  Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

Psa 22:3  But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises {תהילה ‘tehilah’} of Israel.

The Hebrew word for tent is אוהל ‘ohel’ from the root הל ‘hal’ which means to shine as an ancient tent would have a campfire next to is that would cause the tent to “shine” to those in the distance.  הל ‘hal’ is also the root of the word הלל ‘halal’ and תהילה ‘tehilah’ which literally means “to cause a shining of one by praising or giving thanks to another”.

Covering of Love

Son 2:4  He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.

Isa 11:10  And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

There are multiple words in Hebrew for love, all linking back to the bosom.  The most common is אהב ‘ahav’ which has the meaning of a gift and the expressions and actions of one towards the family.  The pictograph meaning displays the gift of the Father to mankind of His only begotten Son.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Pictograph meaning of Love

The first and last letters spell out the word for Father (אב ‘ab’) and the middle letter ה ‘heh’ is a picture of a man with outstretched arms.  The Love of the Father is revealed through the Messiah on the tree, gathering all mankind back to their Creator.

It is interesting to note that in sign language, the way one says ‘hallelujah’ is very similar to this ancient Hebrew concept.

In sign language the flat hands come together, then circle around and change to X hands and then back again to flat hands raised in the air.

This is the end result:

This is the formation of the letter ה ‘heh.’

The Hebrew word HalleluYah is from הלל ‘halal’ which is pictographically displayed by a man with two outstretched arms, holding the shepherd’s staff or it could be said the Shepherd with outstretched arms.

As Hallelujah is said to be the only word that man speaks that is the same in every language, it is only appropriate to share that the Shepherd with outstretched arms is what gathers and unifies mankind through the love of the Father.
