Biblical Definitions – Unity

Unity comes only through Christ and the New Covenant in Him (Psalm 50:5; Isaiah 49:3-9; Hebrews 2:11; 13:20-21; Jeremiah 50:5; Ephesians 2:15; Colossians 1:20; 2:1-11) and walking with Him (1John 1:3-7).

“Unity in the body of Christ does not rest on uniformity, but on our common ‘blood,’ which is the blood of Christ.  We are now members of one family, and that identity cannot be taken from us, no matter how much we disagree or quarrel.” (The Gospel in Human Contexts – Paul Hiebert pg 193)

Walking with Messiah as His disciple leads to truth (John 8:31-32; Isaiah 8:16).  This is seen in shadow picture form in the ‘cycles of righteousness’ (Psalm 23:3) of the calendarclick here.

The concept of being markedclick here in Scripture is linked with this walk.

The letter ת ‘tav’ in pictograph form is two crossed sticks which has the meaning of a covenant and being marked Ezekiel 9:4.  We can choose the covenant of Life in Messiah Jesus (Isaiah 42:6; 49:8; Zechariah 9:11; Jeremiah 31:31; Matthew 26:28) or we can choose the covenant of death (Isaiah 28:15) which promises deliverance from death (ie false tree of life which is the tree of knowledge) but in reality leads to hell.  There is unity in both.  Unity in Messiah as His body & bride or unity in the beast as his body & bride.

Covenant relationship is linked with walking togetherClick Here. (Genesis 17:1-2; Amos 3:3; 1 Kings 8:23; 2 Kings 23:3; 2 Chronicles 6:14; 34:31; Psalm 78:10)

Amo 3:3 Will two walk together (Hebrew יחד  ‘yachad’– one, unity) except they are agreed?

The word translated as ‘agreed’ here is יעד  ‘ya’ad’ which is associated with appointed times and marriage.

Walking together in covenant with the Most High is equivalent to knowing His Wayclick here.  Knowing His Way is Knowing Him (Exodus 33:13).  Knowing Him is linked with unity (Ephesians 4:13; 1:17; Colossians 3:9-17; 2:2-3; 1 Timothy 2:4-7; 2 Peter 1:2-11, 20; 3:17-18; Philemon 1:6).  Marked in His Love, the bond of perfection (Matthew 22:37-40; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Romans 8:28-30, 37-39).

We can be marked with His mark/Name, walking in His ways (Romans 8:29; Ephesians 1:4) or marked with the mark of the beast and his paths (Proverbs 2:1-22; Psalm 17:4-5).  Remember that a defining trait of the beast is his desire to change the times of the Most High (Daniel 2:21).  A false unity is also linked with the beast (Daniel 11:23; 1 Maccabees 1:42; Joshua 9:2; 11:5; Judges 6:33; Nehemiah 4:8; 6:2,7; Psalm 31:13; 56:6; 71:10; 74:8; 83:5; 88:17; 41:7; 14:1-3).  As believers our only unity is in Messiah…one body.  We must avoid the temptation to join ‘the group’ at the expense of truth, as Messiah is Truth (John 14:6, 17; 16:13-14; Psalm 119:160; 2 Timothy 2:15; John 8:31-32; Exodus 23:2).

The main goal of unity is the preparation unto perfection of the bride to meet the Bridegroom (Matthew 5:48; Romans 12:2; 1 Corinthians 13:9-13; Ephesians 4:11-13; Philippians 3:14-15; Colossians 1:28; 3:14; 4:12; Romans 10:4; Psalm 119:1).  This is done through loveclick here (Colossians 3:14; 1 Corinthians 13:9-13; Romans 13:10; 1 John 4:10, 12, 16; 5:3).

Truth can not be overlooked in regards to the unity issue.  The strong delusion comes upon those who have not a love of the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:11).  Those in this delusion are in unity with the beast (Psalm 2:1; Acts 4:26; Psalm 64:2; 83:3,5).  Ephesians 4 is the only portion of New Testament Scripture that uses the word unity, it is in this portion that Paul speaks of the edifying of the body of Messiah through the truth in love unto maturity (Philippians 3:7-21).  We cannot overlook the truth in order to have ‘unity’ with others who are not walking in truth (Exodus 23:2; 32:1; Proverbs 4:14).  The strong delusion comes upon those who worship God but not according to His ways (Isaiah 66:4; Psalm 81:11-12).

Unity is linked to the temple (Exodus 26:24; 36:29) and the worship done thereat which was a shadow picture pointing to Messiah (Hebrews 10:1; 8:5; 9:9; Colossians 2:17).  Messiah told the woman at the well that this temple worship is going to fade away and believers will be called to worship the Father in Spirit and Truth (John 4:21-24).  Again the importance of truth in regards to unity is seen.

The word for joining together (as in the joining together of the tabernacle to make it one) is the same word used for magic charmer.
Exo 36:13  And he made fifty hooks of gold; and he joined the curtains by the hooks, one to another. And the tabernacle became one.
Deu 18:11  or a magic charmer, or one consulting mediums, or a spirit-knower, or one inquiring of the dead.
חבר comes from the root חב which means the bosom and is linked to love and unity.  It is important that believers don’t turn away from truth for the sake of ‘love.’  Love does not negate truthclick here for Love is the Word which is Truthclick here.

True unity will come when Messiah returns and regathers us (Isaiah 52:8; Jeremiah 3:17-18; 31:8-13; 50:3-7; Micah 2:12)  where we will be resurrected into His Image (1 Corinthians 15:49; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Psalm 17:15; Romans 8:28-30; Galatians 3:26-29; Hebrews 13:21).  This is when believers will see ‘eye to eye’ (Isaiah 52:8).

Is it more important to be in ‘unity’ than to be correct?  The word for correct כון in Hebrew means established.  It is pictured in the natural realm in the pillar of a house or root of a plant.

This is strongly linked to faithclick here אמונה & truthclick here אמת  and אב meaning fatherclick here.  It is no surprise that the calendar is then linked to אביב ‘aviv’ (Deuteronomy 16:1) which comes from the same root as אב father (John 14-17).  The word for priest, כהן ‘kohen,’ and community/congregation כנס ‘kanas’ comes from כן ‘kan’ meaning correct.  Ephesians 4:13 states that the unity of faith comes through the full knowledge of Messiah.  The Greek word for ‘full knowledge’ is ἐπιγνωσις ‘epignōsis’ which means precise and correct knowledge.

Being correct- כן is important as Paul, in Ephesians 4, speaks of the mature believer not being tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine.  This too is spoken of in regards to John the Baptist, who came as Elijah to prepare the way for Messiah (Matthew 11:8).  Recall that Elijah and John the Baptist were not part of the majority (Romans 11:2-5; Matthew 3:1). It is spirit of Elijahclick here that prepares the way for the Lord (Matthew 17:10-12; Malachi 4:4-6; Luke 1:17; 3:4).

2Ti 3:16  All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

2Ti 3:17  so that the man of God may be perfected, being fully furnished for every good work.

כון ‘kun’ is also translated as ‘prepare’ in numerous Scriptures (Exodus 19:11, 15; 34:2).  Preparation of the bride, maturation of the bride for the coming of the bridegroom (Luke 1:17; Revelation 19:7-8; Ephesians 5:25-27).  We are perfected through the Word by the work of the Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 18:32).

Astronomyclick here in Hebrew is תכנה ‘tekunah’ (Job 23:3) which also comes from כן ‘kun’ as it is YHWH who has prepared/fixed/established (כן) the heavenly bodies and their movements for His calendar (Psalm 8:3-4).  The movement of the heavenly bodies is a picture of Messiah & his body and the covenantclick here (Galatians 3:16; Psalm 89:1-5, 29, 35-37; Romans 10:16-19; Psalm 19:1-11).  Abraham’s Seed is likened to the stars where he was commanded to walk before the Most High and be perfect/mature (Genesis 17:1; Deuteronomy 18:13; Matthew 5:48).

It is the carnal nature that divides and separates us in wickedness (1 Corinthians 3:4; Romans 8:8; Philippians 2:3; Galatians 5:20; James 3:14-16) unto unity in the beast (Romans 5:19; Ephesians 2:2-3; John 8:44; Romans 9:8).  It is the Truth that separates us in righteousness (Hebrews 4:12; Ephesians 5:13) unto unity in Messiah.  This is the concept of holiness which comes from the Hebrew word קדש ‘qodesh’ which is a cognate of the word חד ‘chad’ which means unity as holiness means a separation from the world unto unity in YHWH.  קדש is also the word for a cult prostitute or one who is separated unto unity in the beast.

The unity we must seek is only found in Him.

Psa 86:11  Teach me Your way, O YHWH; I will walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name.

His Name=His Word/Characterclick here(Revelation 19:13).

Eph 4:3  being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond (σύνδεσμος ‘sundesmos’-  ligaments holding the body together) of peace.

Peace in Hebrew means completeness.

o

This peace comes only from the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) who came to bring Light to mankind.

Isa 9:2  The people who walk in darkness have seen a great light. The ones who dwell in the land of the shadow of death, light has shone on them.

Notice that Luke links this coming of the Prince of Peace (completeness) with the preparation of John the Baptist.

Luk 1:76  And you, child, will be called Prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, Mal. 3:1

Luk 1:77  to give a knowledge of salvation to His people by remission of their sins,

Luk 1:78  through the tender heart of mercy of our God, in which the Dayspring from on high will visit us,

Luk 1:79  to appear to those sitting in darkness and in shadow of death, to direct our feet into the way of peace. Isa. 9:2

Joh 12:32  And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all to Myself.  {Recall that this drawing together של is the definition of peace שלם}

Joh 12:33  But He said this, signifying by what kind of death He was about to die.

Joh 12:34  The crowd answered Him, We heard out of the Law that The Christ remains to the age. And how do You say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?

Joh 12:35  Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while the Light is with you. Walk while you have the Light, that darkness not overtake you. And the one walking in the darkness does not know where he is going.

Joh 12:36  While you have the Light, believe into the Light, that you may become sons of Light. Jesus spoke these things, and going away He was hidden from them.

Joh 12:37  But though He had done so many miraculous signs before them, they did not believe into Him,

Joh 12:38  so that the Word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he said, “Lord, who has believed our report? And the arm of the Lord, to whom was it revealed?” Isa. 53:1

Joh 12:39  Because of this they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,

Joh 12:40  “He has blinded their eyes” and “has hardened their heart,” “that they might not see with the eyes” and “understand with the heart,” “and be converted,” “and I should heal them.” Isa. 6:10

Joh 12:41  Isaiah said these things when he saw His glory, and spoke about Him.

Joh 12:42  Still, however, even out of the rulers, many did believe into Him. But because of the Pharisees, they were not confessing, so that they not be put out of the synagogue.

Joh 12:43  For they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God. {Notice that the love of men and the desire to be a part of the group pulls us away from Messiah, if we are not clinging to Truth}

Joh 12:44  But Jesus cried out and said, The one believing into Me does not believe into Me, but into the One sending Me.

Joh 12:45  And the one seeing Me sees the One who sent Me.

Joh 12:46  I have come as a Light to the world, that everyone who believes into Me may not remain in the darkness.

Joh 12:47  And if anyone hears My Words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come that I might judge the world, but that I might save the world.

Joh 12:48  The one who rejects Me and does not receive My Words has that judging him: the Word which I spoke, that will judge him in the last Day.

Joh 12:49  For I did not speak from Myself, but He who sent Me, the Father, He has given Me command, what I should say, and what I should speak.

Joh 12:50  And I know that His command is everlasting life. Then what things I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.  {Everlasting life is the blessing linked to unity – Psalm 133…verses 49 & 50 also speak of the Father’s will which is linked with unity as well.  More on this below}

Walking in the Light is linked with exposing the ‘unity’ of darkness

Eph 5:6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for through these things the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience.

Eph 5:7  Then do not become partakers with them;

Eph 5:8  for you then were darkness, but are now light in the Lord; walk as children of light.

Eph 5:9  For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,

Eph 5:10  proving what is pleasing to the Lord. {The object of becoming perfect/mature is to do His perfect will/desireclick here (Hebrew 13:20-21)}

Eph 5:11  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them.

Peter associates this Kingdom of Light with the priesthood of believers who are called to grow in maturity and walk in the straight paths of YHWH.

1Pe 2:1  Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

1Pe 2:2  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

1Pe 2:3  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

1Pe 2:4  To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

1Pe 2:5  Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

1Pe 2:6  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

1Pe 2:7  Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

1Pe 2:8  And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

1Pe 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

1Pe 2:10  Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

John the Baptist & the straight paths

Luk 1:16  And he will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God.

Luk 1:17  And he will go out before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah “to turn the hearts of fathers to their children,” and disobedient ones to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people having been prepared for the Lord. Mal. 4:5, 6

Isa. 9:2

Mat 3:1  Now in those days John the Baptist came preaching in the deserted places of Judea,

Mat 3:2  and saying, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.

Mat 3:3  For this is he spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord! Make His paths straight!” Isa. 40:3

What is repentance?  Repentance is turning back to the Word

Eze 18:21  But the wicked, if he will turn from all his sins which he has done, and keep all My statutes, and do justice and righteousness, living he shall live; he shall not die.

Eze 18:30  I will judge you, each man by his ways, O house of Israel, declares the Lord YHWH. Turn and be made to turn from all your transgressions, and iniquity shall not be a stumbling-block to you.

Eze 18:31  Cast away all your transgressions from you by which you have transgressed in them, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit; for why will you die, O house of Israel?

Eze 18:32  For I do not have delight in the death of him who dies, declares the Lord YHWH. So turn and live.

Deu 30:2  and shall turn back to YHWH your God and listen to His voice, according to all that I am commanding you today, you and your sons with all your heart, and with all your soul;

Dan 9:13  As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this evil has come on us. Yet we did not make our prayer before YHWH our God that we might turn from our perversities and understand Your truth.

What is Truth?

Psa 119:142  Your righteousness is forever, and Your Law is truth.

When we repent we receive the Holy Spirit who leads us into the Truth and obedience.

1Pe 1:1  Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourners of the dispersion of Pontus, of Galatia, of Cappadocia, of Asia, and of Bithynia,

1Pe 1:2  according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you.

Luk 3:4  as it has been written in the scroll of the Words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.

What is the Way of YHWH?

Psa 119:1  ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled (Hebrew תמים ‘tamiym’ – perfect/mature) in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

What is preparing His paths?

Isa 57:14  And he shall say, Raise up! Raise up! Clear the way! Make the stumbling block rise from the way of My people.

Isa 62:10  Pass! Pass through the gates; prepare the way of the people! Raise up! Raise up the highway; clear it from stones; lift up a banner over the peoples.

Isa 62:11  Behold, YHWH has made it to be heard to the end of the earth; Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold! Your salvation comes! Behold! His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.

Isa 62:12  And they shall call them, The Holy People, the Redeemed of YHWH. And to you it shall be called, Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.

What are the stumbling blocks?

Mat 13:40  Then as the darnel is gathered and is consumed in the fire, so it will be in the completion of this age.

Mat 13:41  The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all the offenses (Greek skandalon -stumbling blocks, snares), and those who practice lawlessness.

Mat 13:42  And they will throw them into the furnace of fire; there will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.

Mat 13:43  Then the righteous will shine out like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. The one having ears to hear, let him hear.

This is why John the Baptist said the following.  The stumbling blocks/lawless ones will be burned with fire.

Mat 3:10  But already the axe is even laid at the root of the trees; therefore, any tree not bringing forth good fruit is cut off and is thrown into fire.

Mat 3:11  I indeed baptize you in water to repentance; but He who is coming after me is stronger than me, of whom I am not able to lift The sandals. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,

Mat 3:12  whose fan is in His hand, and He will cleanse His floor and will gather His wheat into the storehouse. But He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

The coming Kingdom where we will ‘see eye to eye’…why? Because He will be teaching us (Isaiah 2:2; Micah 4:1).

Mat 4:16  the people sitting in darkness saw a great Light; and to those sitting in the region and shadow of death, Light sprang up to them.” Isa. 9:1, 2

Mat 4:17  From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.

Isa 9:6  For a Child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isa 9:7  There is no end to the increase of His government and of peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever. The zeal of YHWH of Hosts will do this.

The word unity is only used 3 times in Scripture (Psalm 133:1; Ephesians 4:3; 13).

Psa 133:1  A Song of Ascents. Of David. Behold! How good and how pleasant is the living of brothers, even in unity.

Psa 133:2  It is like the precious oil on the head that ran down on the beard, Aaron’s beard, going down to the mouth of his garments;

Psa 133:3  like the dew of Hermon coming down on the mountains of Zion; for there YHWH commanded the blessing: life till everlasting.

Psalm 133 is speaking of the anointing and consecration of Aaron as high priest (Leviticus 8-9).  This is a picture of Messiah – the true Anointed One (Hebrews 8:1-5; 3:1; 4:14-16).  All Israel gathered together at the consecration of the priesthood to the door of the Tabernacle of congregation (Leviticus 8:3).  This is the definition of unity עד.

It was at this time that the priests were cleansed (Leviticus 8:6) which was a picture of the bride being cleansed and prepared to meet her bridegroom (Ephesians 5:26-27; Isaiah 61:10; John 17:17-26; Acts 26:18).  It was at this time that the Tabernacle was anointed (Leviticus 8:10) where it was raised up and became ONE (Exodus 40:2-35; 36:13; Hebrews 9:11, 23, 28; Romans 6:4) and the Glory of YHWH came to earth (Exodus 40:35; Leviticus 9:23).

One Faith, One Lord, One Baptism…

Eph 4:1  Then I, the prisoner in the Lord, exhort you to walk worthily of the calling in which you were called,

Eph 4:2  with all humility and meekness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love,

Eph 4:3  being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Eph 4:4  There is one body and one Spirit {Spirit of Truth John 14:17; 17:17}, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling;

Eph 4:5  one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Eph 4:6  one God and Father of all, the One above all and through all and in you all.

Eph 4:7  But to each one of us was given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Eph 4:11  And indeed He gave some to be apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;

Eph 4:12  with a view to the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ,

Eph 4:13  until we all may come to the unity of the faith and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

Eph 4:14  so that we may no longer be infants, being blown and carried about by every wind of doctrine, in the sleight of men, in craftiness to the deceit of error,

Eph 4:15  but speaking the truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, the Christ,

Eph 4:16  from whom all the body, having been fitted and compacted together through every assisting bond, according to the effectual working of one measure in each part, produces the growth of the body to the building up of itself in love.

Eph 4:17  Therefore, I say this, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk even as also the rest of the nations walk, in the vanity of their mind,

Eph 4:32  And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, having forgiven one another, even as also God forgave you in Christ.

Unity through the Knowledge of the Son of God

Eph 4:13  until we all may come to the unity of the faith and of the full knowledge* of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

2Pe 1:2  Grace to you, and peace be multiplied by a full knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.
2Pe 1:3  As His divine power has given to us all things pertaining to life and godliness through the full knowledge of the One calling us through glory and virtue,

The Unity of Faith

Eph 4:13  until we all may come to the unity of the faith and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

Faith=Truth
Act 6:7  And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith*.

*The Greek word here is ‘pistis’ which means a conviction of truth.  This is used in the Septuagint to translate the Hebrew word ‘emunah’ which means faith, truth, a firm foundation.
Jer 7:28  But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction:truth{EMUNAH=FAITH} is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
Psa 119:30  I have chosen the way of truth{EMUNAH/Faith}: thy judgments have I laid before me.
Psa 119:138  You have enjoined Your Testimonies as righteous and very faithful {emunah}.

Deu 32:20  And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith {H529}.
Isa 26:2  Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth {H529} may enter in.

THE Word IS HIS FAITH
Hab 2:4  Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith (emunah).

‘Emunah’ is equated with the Gospel

Rom 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to everyone believing, both to Jew first, and to Greek;
Rom 1:17  for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; even as it has been written, “But the just shall live by faith.”

HE WILL JUDGE THE WORLD BY HIS FAITH/WORD
Psa 96:13  Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth{H530 אמוּנה EMUNAH=faith}.

Judged by His Word…His Wordclick here=Truthclick here=Faith
Joh 12:48  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Rev 19:11  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Paul made the same connection between His faith and the judgment
Rom 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Rom 1:18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Rom 10:8  But what does it say? “The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the Word of faith which we proclaim)
Deuteronomy 30:12-14 – Paul was saying that he proclaimed the Torah according to Deut. 30
Rom 10:17  Then faith is of hearing, and hearing through the Word of God.

FAITH IS A WEIGHTIER MATTER OF TORAH
Mat 23:23  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

FAITH AND OBEDIENCE are LINKED TOGETHER
Deu 9:23  Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed (Hebrew ‘aman’ from the same root as ‘emunah’) him not, nor hearkened to his voice.
Jam 2:17  Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Act 10:34  Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Act 10:35  But in every nation he that feareth {believes/has faith} him, and worketh righteousness {walks in the commandmentsclick here}, is accepted with him.
Heb 4:6  Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief (G543 ἀπείθεια apeitheia disobedience):
Heb 4:11  Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief (G543 ἀπείθεια apeitheia disobedience).
Col 3:6  For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience(G543):
Rom 1:5  by whom we received grace and apostleship to obedience of faith among all the nations, for His name’s sake,
Rom 10:16  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
Rom 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Psa 119:86  All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.
Psa 119:138  Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful.

Rom 11:30  For as you then also disobeyed
(G544) God, but now have obtained mercy by the disobedience (G543) of these,
Rom 11:31  so also these now have disobeyed (G544), so that they also may obtain mercy by your mercy.
Rom 11:32  For God shut up all into disobedience (G543), that He may show mercy to all.

Messiah’s prayer

Joh 17:11  And no longer am I in the world, yet these are in the world; and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, those whom You gave to Me, that they may be one as We are.

Joh 17:12  While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name; I guarded those whom You gave to Me, and not one of them was lost, except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

Joh 17:13  And now I come to You, and I speak these things in the world, that they may have My joy being fulfilled in them.

Joh 17:14  I have given them Your Word, and the world hated them because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world.

Joh 17:15  I do not pray that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil.

Joh 17:16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Joh 17:17  Sanctify them in Your Truth; Your Word is Truth.

Joh 17:18  As You have sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world,

Joh 17:19  and I sanctify Myself for them, that they also may be sanctified in Truth.

Joh 17:20  And I do not pray concerning these only, but also concerning those who will believe in Me through their word;

Joh 17:20  And I do not pray concerning these only, but also concerning those who will believe in Me through their word;

Joh 17:21  that all may be one, as You are in Me, Father, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

Joh 17:22  And I have given them the glory which You have given Me, that they may be one, as We are One:

Joh 17:23  I in them, and You in Me, that they may be perfected in one; and that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them, even as You loved Me.

How did the Father display His love for us?  He gave His Son (John 3:16) who was lifted up (John 3:14) to gather into one (John 11:52), His people…under the shadow of His wings (Matthew 23:37)as the little guy in His Eyeclick here (Psalm 17:8, 15).

Joh 17:24  Father, I desire that those whom You have given Me, that where I am, they may be with Me also, that they may behold My glory which You gave Me, because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

Joh 17:25  Righteous Father, indeed the world did not know You, but I knew You; and these have known that You sent Me.

Joh 17:26  And I made known to them Your name, and will make it known, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.

The Bosom, the Family and Gathering at the Cross

The word father in Hebrew is associated with loveclick here, so too is the word mother.  אם (mother) is the source of the Latin ‘amare,’ the French ‘amitie’ and the English ‘amity’ which mean love.  One of the Hebrew words for love is דד ‘dud/dad’ which means both love and breasts/bosom.  Interestingly, the English word ‘baby’ comes from the Hebrew בבה ‘baba’ which is related to the word אבוב ‘aboob’ the root of which is אב which means father but also means a pipe, as in the breast of the mother whose milk flows to give sustenance to the baby.  בבה in Hebrew means the pupil, the apple of one’s eyes.  As any parent has held their baby in their arms against their bosom they recognize this is the epitome of love and intimate relationship (apple of the eye/little guy in the eye).

The word family comes from משפחה ‘mispocha’ the same root as שפח ‘shapach’.  שפח Shaphach is the root of the word crucifixion which gathers all the family of the earth.  The bosom, which represents the love of the family also links to the bosom.

Messiah came from the bosom of the Father.

Joh 1:18  No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, that One declares Him.

He gathers and then carries in His bosom His people, linking to the crucifixion.  It is through the work of Messiah on the cross that mankind is brought into His family.

Isa 40:10  Behold, the Lord YHWH will come with strength, and His arm rules for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him, and His wage before Him.

Isa 40:11  He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather lambs with His arm; and carry them in His bosom; those with young He will lead;

Psa 89:50  Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Your servants, my bearing in my bosom the insults of the many peoples

Psa 89:51  with which Your enemies have cursed, O YHWH; with which they have cursed the footsteps of Your anointed.

Eph 2:8  For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift (gift = love = bosom) of God;

Eph 2:9  not of works, that not anyone should boast;

Eph 2:10  for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.

Eph 2:11  Because of this, remember that you, the nations, were then in the flesh (those having been called Uncircumcision by those having been called Circumcision in the flesh made by hands)

Eph 2:12  that at that time you were without Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers of the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

Eph 2:13  But now, in Christ Jesus you who then were afar off, came to be near by the blood of Christ.

Eph 2:14  For He is our peace, He making us both one, and breaking down the middle wall of partition,

Eph 2:15  in His flesh causing to cease the enmity, the Law of the commandments in decrees, that He might in Himself create the two into one new man, making peace,

Eph 2:16  and might reconcile both in one body to God through the cross, slaying the enmity in Himself.

Eph 2:17  And coming, He proclaimed “peace to you, the ones afar off, and to the ones near.” Isa. 57:19

Eph 2:18  For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Eph 2:19  So, then, you are no longer strangers and tenants, but you are fellow citizens* of the saints and of the family of God,

*Through the Messiah we have been given citizenship in Heaven. We should no longer consider ourselves citizens of particular fleshly nations of this world. This gives us unity regardless of nationality.

Through the Messiah we have been adopted into the family of YHWH. We should no longer consider ourselves White or Black or Hispanic etc… This gives us unity regardless of ethnicity.

Through Messiah we are made redeemed Israelites, Abraham’s seed and heirs of the promise. We are not to consider ourselves Catholics or Protestants, Baptists or Lutherans etc., we are redeemed Israelites and adopted into the family of YHWH. We are sons of God and co-heirs w/ Messiah. This gives us unity regardless of religious beliefs.

By believing in Messiah we have ONE KING, ONE LAW, ONE HERITAGE, ONE FAMILY.

There are multiple words in Hebrew for love, all linking back to the bosom.  The most common is אהב which has the meaning of a gift and the expressions and actions of one towards the family.  The pictograph meaning displays the gift of the Father to mankind of His only begotten Son.  Again linking the bosom, the family and the crucifixion.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 15:13  Greater love than this has no one, that anyone should lay down his soul for his friends.

From the root:

The Pictograph meaning of Love

The first and last letters spell out the word for Father (אב) and the middle letter is a picture of a man with outstretched arms.  The Love of the Father is revealed through the Messiah on the tree, gathering all mankind back to their Creator.

Another word for love is חשק which has the meaning of being knit together in love.  ‘Chashaq’ comes from חב which means the bosom.  ‘Chashaq is the word used in reference to the joining together of the Tabernacle, which is a shadow picture of the body of Messiah.  It is no surprise that this joining together involved nails, just as in the nails used in the crucifixion (Exodus 38:17, 28; Deuteronomy 7:7; Colossians 2:2, 19; Ephesians 4:15-16).

חשק ‘Chashaq’ also can be traced back to the word חק ‘choq’

H2436

חוק  /  חק  /  חיק

chêyq  /  chêq  /  chôq

BDB Definition:

1) bosom, hollow, bottom, midst

חק is the root of חקק and חקה which means to inscribe a decree or custom.  It is used in reference to the Torah.  It is no surprise that the New Covenant, cut at Calvary is associated with the inscribing of the Word on our hearts which is contained in our bosoms (Jeremiah 31:31).

The feasts/appointed times, at which the people of YHWH gathered, are linked to this word ‘choq.’

It is no surprise then that the English word hug traces back to the Hebrew word חג ‘chag’ which means feast.

The feasts revolved around the gathering together of the people to the Tabernacle or tent.  The Tabernacle itself was called the אהל מועד

‘ohel mo’ed’ which means tent of meeting/gathering or tabernacle of congregation.  ‘Moed’ comes from עד which means to see the door, as in meeting as the door of the Tabernacle.

There are two more words in Hebrew which are translated as bosom.  It is חצן which comes from חץ which literally means a tent wall, as in an enclosing.  Finally, the word צלחת which also means a bowl, as in the bowls used in the Tabernacle.  צלחת comes from צלח which traces back further to צל which means a shadow…as under the shadow of His wings, the little guy in His Eye.

Recall that the word in Hebrew for pupil is בבה which is the source of the English word ‘baby.’  Interestingly, the English word ‘shade’ comes from the Hebrew word שד which means the breast/bosom.  שד is the root of the word שדי ‘shaddai’ which is translated as ‘the Almighty.’  שד literally means to return to the door, again linking with the feasts and the Tabernacle mentioned above.

Finally, the word דוד means love.  דד ‘Dod’ literally means the breasts.  The letter ‘dalet’ is the picture of a door, or flap of a tent which opens the way inside.  The tabernacle consisted of two doors/veils which דד displays.  What is the veil of the Tabernacle a picture of?  The body/flesh of Messiah.

Heb 10:20  which He consecrated for us, a new and living way through the veil; that is, His flesh;

The above portion of Scripture is in context of the New Covenant which was cut at Calvary where Messiah gathered mankind into His bosom (Isaiah 40:11; Psalm 89:50).

Messiah’s relationship with the Father

Joh 5:30  I am able to do nothing from Myself; just as I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, for I do not seek My will, but the will of the One sending Me, the Father.

Joh 4:34  Jesus said to them, My food is that I should do the will of Him who sent Me, and that I may finish His work.

Joh 6:38  For I have come down out of Heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

Joh 6:39  And this is the will of the Father sending Me, that of all that He has given Me, I shall not lose any of it, but shall raise it up in the last day.

Joh 6:40  And this is the will of the One sending Me, that everyone seeing the Son and believing into Him should have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Psa 40:7  Then I said, Lo, I come, in the roll of the Book it is written of Me;

Psa 40:8  I delight to do Your will, O My God; and Your Law is within My inmost soul.

Psa 40:9  I have announced righteousness in the great assembly; behold, I will not restrain My lips; O YHWH You know.

Psa 40:10  I have not concealed Your righteousness in My heart; I speak Your faithfulness and Your salvation. I have not hidden Your loving-kindness and Your truth from the great assembly.

His will is His Word

Mat 12:46  But while He was yet speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him.

Mat 12:47  Then one said to Him, Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to You.

Mat 12:48  But answering, He said to the one speaking to Him, Who is My mother? And who are My brothers?

Mat 12:49  And stretching out His hand to His disciples, He said, Behold, My mother and My brothers.

Mat 12:50  For whoever does the will of My Father in Heaven, that one is My brother and sister and mother.

Luk 8:19  And His mother and His brothers came to Him, and were not able to come up with Him through the crowd.

Luk 8:20  And it was told to Him, saying Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside wishing to see You.

Luk 8:21  And answering, He said to them, My mother and My brothers are these: the ones hearing the Word of God, and doing it.

David wished to know the Father’s will that He may be led on the narrow path to the Kingdom

Psa 143:10  Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

Psa 25:4  Shew me thy ways {the way is the Torahclick here}, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Psa 25:5  Lead me in thy truth {truth is Torahclick here} and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

As seen Mark of the Beast – the Great Counterfeit part 1click here, the definition of the mark is what God you are walking with and what path you are on.

Messiah teaches of this concept of walking in His paths to be lead to the land of uprightness.  He then warns of those who bear wicked fruit who would seek to lead astray from the narrow path.

Mat 7:12  Therefore, all things, whatever you desire that men should do to you, so also you should do to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Mat 7:13  Go in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are the ones entering in through it.

Mat 7:14  For narrow is the gate, and constricted is the way that leads away into life, and few are the ones finding it.

Mat 7:15  But beware of the false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inside they are plundering wolves.

Mat 7:16  From their fruits you shall know them. Do they gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

Mat 7:17  So every good tree produces good fruits, but the corrupt tree produces evil fruits.

Mat 7:18  A good tree cannot produce evil fruits, nor a corrupt tree produce good fruits.

Mat 7:19  Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and is thrown into fire.

Mat 7:20  Then surely from their fruits you shall know them.

Notice that Messiah links the 2 paths to 2 types of trees.  The narrow path to the Kingdom which is linked with the good fruit of the tree of Life, or the broad path to destruction that is linked with the tree of knowledge.

The path that man chooses is linked to the mark that he receives.  The narrow path to the Kingdom and the mark of YHWH or the broad path that leads to destruction and the mark of the beast.

The root word for mark את is a picture of an ox plowing toward a mark.  In ancient Hebrew thought, God was seen as the strong ox that we are yoked with in covenant relationship.  The word for mark is a picture of walking with your God toward your mark/goal (Philippians 3:14).  Walking with Messiah (Mat 11:29) towards the Kingdom of Heaven or walking with the adversary towards sheol. The word for kingdom in Hebrew is מלכת ‘malkut’ which comes from the root לך ‘lakh’ which means to walk.

This is what Paul was alluding to in his letter to the Corinthians.

2Co 6:14  Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership does righteousness have with lawlessness? And what fellowship does light have with darkness?

2Co 6:15  And what agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what part does a believer have with an unbeliever?

2Co 6:16  And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are a temple of the living God, even as God said, “I will” dwell in them and “walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Lev. 26:12; Ezek. 37:27

2Co 6:17  Because of this, “come out from among them” “and be separated,” says the Lord, “and do not touch the unclean thing,” and I will receive you. Isa. 52:11

2Co 6:18  “And I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons” and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty. 2 Sam. 7:8, 14; Isa. 43:6

The word belial means “without the yoke”.  Men of belial are men of lawlessness.

Belial:  Belial is derived by some from beli, not, and âl, over, i.e., one so proud and envious as not to bear a superior; by others, from beli, not, and ol, a yoke, i.e., a lawless, ungovernable person, ανδρες παρανομοι, “lawless men,” as the LXX render.

The Yoke is the Word (Matthew 11:28-30).  It is associated with walking with Messiah as His discipleclick here.  The lawless are yoked to sin and are enslaved (John 8:34; Deuteronomy 28:47-48; Leviticus 26:13; Jeremiah 30:8)  Another word for yoke in Hebrew is צמד ‘tsamad’ {Numbers 25:3; Psalm 106:28} which also means a bracelet as is used in marriage.  We can yoke up with Messiah and enter the wedding supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:9) or we can yoke up with the lawless one and be a feast for the fowls. (Revelation 19:17-19).

Belial are the thorns (2 Samuel 23:6; 2 Corinthians 12:7-9), the tares among the wheat (Deuteronomy 13:13; 2 Corinthians 6:15-16) who are to be burned (Matthew 13:42).  They are associated with the army of satan (2 Corinthians 12:7).

The Covenant

The letter ת ‘tav’ in pictograph form is two crossed sticks which has the meaning of a covenant.  We can choose the covenant of Life in Messiah Yahshua (Isaiah 42:6; 49:8; Zechariah 9:11; Jeremiah 31:31; Matthew 26:28) or we can choose the covenant of death (Isaiah 28:15) which promises deliverance from death (ie false tree of life which is the tree of knowledge) but in reality leads to hell.

Covenant relationship is linked with walking together. (1 Kings 8:23; 2 Kings 23:3; 2 Chronicles 6:14; 34:31; Psalm 78:10)

Gen 17:1  And when Abram was ninety nine years old, YHWH appeared to Abram and said to him, I am the Almighty God! Walk before me and be perfect;

Gen 17:2  and I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you very much.

Amo 3:3  Will two walk together (Heb. yachad – one) except they are agreed?

Walking together in covenant with the Most High is equivalent to knowing His Way.  Knowing His Way is Knowing Him (Exodus 33:13).

Patience & His Will

Heb 10:36  For ye have need of patience*, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

*What is patience?

Rev 14:12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

The object of becoming perfect/mature is to do His perfect will.

Heb 13:20  Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Heb 13:21  Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

This was the call of Abraham

Gen 17:1  And when Abram was ninety nine years old, YHWH appeared to Abram and said to him, I am the Almighty God! Walk before me and be perfect;

This is the call of His people

Mat 5:48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

We are to use our gifts so that the body can be perfect in His will

Eph 4:11  And indeed He gave some to be apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;

Eph 4:12  with a view to the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ,

Eph 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Perfect bride

Eph 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave Himself up on its behalf,

Eph 5:26  that He might sanctify it, cleansing it by the washing of the water in the Word,

Eph 5:27  that He might present it to Himself as the glorious assembly, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such things, but that it be holy and without blemish {This is the definition of ‘tamiym’ (perfect)}.

Rev 19:7  Let us rejoice and let us exult, and we will give glory to Him, because the marriage of the Lamb came, and His wife prepared herself.

Rev 19:8  And it was given to her that she be clothed in fine linen, pure and bright; for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.

Rev 19:9  And he says to me, Write: Blessed are the ones having been called to the supper of the marriage of the Lamb. And he says to me, These Words of God are true.

The perfect way

2Sa 22:31  As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

2Sa 22:32  For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

2Sa 22:33  God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

Psa 18:32  It is God who girds me with strength and gives my way to be perfect;

Psa 119:1  ALEPH: Blessed are the upright (Heb. tamiym) in the way, who walk in the Law of YHWH.

Psa 119:2  Blessed are those keeping His Testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart.

Psa 119:3  They also do not work evil; they walk in His way.

This portion of Psalm 119 is connected to Psalm 1 which speaks of the 2 ways (good or evil) and the two trees of Eden.

Mat 19:16  And, behold, coming near, one said to Him, Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?
Mat 19:17  And He said to him, Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One, God! But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:18  He said to Him, Which? And Jesus said, “You shall not commit murder, nor commit adultery, nor steal, nor bear false witness,
Mat 19:19  honor your father and your mother,” and, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Ex. 20:12-16; Lev. 19:18; Deut. 5:16-20
Mat 19:20  The young man said to Him, All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?
Mat 19:21  Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Messiah knew that this individual had covetousness in his heart despite his outward showing of ‘holiness.’  An outward showing of obedience is not what our Father desires.  He wants us to be renewed from within, walking in Messiah.

Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is the good and pleasing and perfect will of God.
Rom 12:3  For through the grace which is given to me, I say to everyone being among you, not to have high thoughts beyond what is right to think. But set your mind to be right-minded, even as God divided a measure of faith to each.
Rom 12:4  For even as we have many members in one body, but all members do not have the same function,
Rom 12:5  so we the many are one body in Christ, and each one members of one another,
Rom 12:6  but having different gifts according to the grace given to us, whether prophecy, according to the proportion of the faith;
Rom 12:7  or ministry, in the ministry; or the one teaching, in the teaching;
Rom 12:8  or the one exhorting, in the encouragement; the one sharing, in simplicity; the one taking the lead, in diligence; the one showing mercy, in cheerfulness.

We are to walk with Messiah to perfection.  This was the message of the Apostles.

Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Phi 3:14  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Phi 3:15  Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Col 1:28  Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Eph 4:11  And indeed He gave some to be apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;

Col 4:12  Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete {G4137 pleroo fulfill(Mtt5:17)}in all the will of God.

Heb 6:1  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Love the bond of perfection

Col 3:14  And above all these, love, which is the bond of perfectness.

Eph 1:4  Just as from the beginning he has chosen us through him, before the foundation of the world, that we may become holy and without blemish before him.

Eph 1:5  And he marked us with his love {His love is His here…this is what the Mark of YHWH isto be his from the beginning, and adopted us to be sons through Jesus Christ, as it pleased his will.

Eph 1:11  in whom we also have been chosen to an inheritance, being predestinated (Aramaic – mark) according to the purpose of the One working all things according to the counsel of His own will,

*The Shema, is the definition of love.

Mat 22:37  And Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” Deut. 6:5

Mat 22:38  This is the first and great commandment.

Mat 22:39  And the second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Lev. 19:18

Mat 22:40  On these two commandments all the Law and the Prophets hang.

The ‘shema’ comes from Deuteronomy 6 which is to be between the eyes and on the hand.

Deu 6:4  Hear, O Israel, YHWH our God is one YHWH.

Deu 6:5  And you shall love YHWH your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

Deu 6:6  And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be on your heart.

Deu 6:7  And you shall teach them to your sons, and shall speak of them as you sit in your house, and as you walk in the way, and as you are lying down, and as you are rising up.

Deu 6:8  And you shall bind them for a sign on your hand; and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.

Deu 6:9  And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house, and on your gates.

In the Hebrew text the ‘shema’ begins and ends with enlarged letters that spell עד which is UNITY.

Sons of God through Messiah.  Conformed to His Image.  His Covenant Bride (seed of Abraham – Genesis 17).

Rom 8:28  But we know that to the ones loving God all things work together for good, to those being called according to purpose;

Rom 8:29  because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.

Rom 8:30  But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Rom 8:37  But in all these things we more than conquer through Him loving us.

Rom 8:38  For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Rom 8:39  nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

Gal 3:26  for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Gal 3:27  For as many as were baptized into Christ, you put on Christ.

Gal 3:28  There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is no slave nor freeman, there is no male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Gal 3:29  And if you are of Christ, then you are a seed of Abraham, even heirs according to promise.

Joh 10:16  And I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must also lead those, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock, one Shepherd.

We have arguments and disagreements now, but when Messiah comes we will all see eye to eye

Isa 52:8  The voice of your watchmen, they lift the voice together, they sing aloud. For they shall see eye to eye when YHWH brings back Zion.

Eze 11:19  And I shall give to them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will remove the stony heart out of their flesh, and I will give them a heart of flesh,

Eze 11:20  so that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments, and do them. And they shall be to Me for a people, and I will be to them for God.

Jer 32:37  Behold, I will gather them out of all the lands, there where I have driven them in My anger, and in My fury, and in great indignation. And I will bring them again to this place, and I will cause them to live in safety.

Jer 32:38  And they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

Jer 32:39  And I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me all the days, for good to them and to their sons after them.

Jer 32:40  And I will cut an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do good to them. But I will put My fear in their heart, that they shall not depart from Me.

Jer 32:41  And I will rejoice over them, to do good to them; and I will truly plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.

Zep 3:9  For then I will give a clear lip to the peoples, to call all of them by the name of YHWH, to serve Him with one shoulder (consent).

One Accord

Act 1:14  These all continued with one accord  (homothumadon) in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Act 2:1  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Act 2:46  And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

G3661
ὁμοθυμαδόν
homothumadon
Thayer Definition:
1) with one mind, with one accord, with one passion
Part of Speech: adverb
A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: from a compound of the base of G3674 and G2372

ὁμοθυμαδον ‘homothumadon’ literally means with one sacrifice…again linking to the Temple and the Sacrifices associated with the feasts which were shadow pictures pointing to Messiah Jesus .

ὁμοθυμαδον ‘homothumadon’  comes from two Greek words.  ὁμοῦ ‘homou’ means an assembly of persons and θυμός ‘thumos’ means passion, anger, emotions that boil up from the root word θύω ‘thuō’ which means a sacrifice, in particular the Passover sacrifice.

1Co 5:7  Then purge out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For also Christ our Passover was sacrificed for us.

The feasts and sacrifices were designed to point to Messiah, the Word made flesh.  In these daily, weekly and yearly cycles, believers were gathered together as one.  The word for calendar in Hebrew קרא, which will be discussed in more detail below, comes from this concept where people gather together for a single purpose.  Literally, it is the word for a gathering of people to read the Word.  This is what unites us, this is what gives us ONE voice.

One mouth

Jos 9:2  they with one mouth (KJV one accord) gathered themselves to fight with Joshua and with Israel.

Rom 15:6  that with one accord and with one mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Light that came forth from the Voice of the Most High upon the Waters at Creation displays this concept.

In the beginning, the Word/Voice of the Most High acted upon the waters and brought forth Light.  Sound frequencies based on physics and mathematics were applied to water.

Everything of mass and matter is vibrating, everything makes a sound (frequency).  Everything is reSONating.

Heb 11:3  By faith we understand the ages to have been framed by the Word of God, so that the things seen should not come into being out of things that appear.
Heb 1:2  in these last days He spoke to us in the Son, whom He appointed heir of all; through whom He indeed made the ages;
Psa 33:6  Through the Word of YHWH the heavens were made; and all their host were made by the breath of His mouth.
2Pe 3:5  For this is hidden from them by their willing it so, that heavens were of old, and earth by water, and through water, having subsisted by the Word of God,

In the beginning sound was on the waters.  The English word sound comes from:

SOUND, n. [L. sonus, from sonom to sound, sing, rattle, beat, &c. This may be a dialectical variation of L. tonus, tono, which seems to be allied to L. teneo.] {Webster’s 1828 Dictionary}

Notice the link between sound and a bird/swan.  In the Scriptures a link is also seen.

Gen 1:2  and the earth being without form and empty, and darkness on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moving gently on the face of the waters,
Gen 1:3  then God said, Let light be! And there was light.

The word translated as ‘moving gently’ comes from the following:

Here we see imagery of a bird hovering over its nest.  YHWH/Jesus is described in this same imagery.

Deu 32:10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste, a howling wilderness. He encircled him and cared for him; He guarded him as the pupil of His eye.

Mat 23:37  Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning those sent to her. How often I desired to gather your children in the way a bird gathers her chicks under her wings! And you did not desire it.

רחף comes from the root:

Messiah is the door that we enter in order to abide in His ‘House’ (John10:7) it is through Him that we are covered/hidden.  This is the definition of who the Israel of God is (Galatians 6:16)…His hidden ones (Psalm 83:3).  It is by the covenant cut in Messiah (Daniel 9:26; Isaiah 42:6) by His sacrifice on the tree that we are covered (1 John 1:7).  It is through His Outstretched Arms (wings) that Messiah is calling us (John 3:14; 12:32) and gathering us together as a Shepherd does His flock (John 10:14-16).  This is how we enter the Door into the House, this is how we are declared innocent and pure in His eyes.  This is how we become His friends and enter into His tents in an intimate relationship click here.

חפ is the root for the word ‘Chuppah’/wedding canopy

Abiding under the shadow of His wings and being in ‘marriage covenant’ with Him through Messiah is one and the same thing.

The canopy as a covering is connected with being the ‘little guy in His eyesclick here

Zec 2:8  For so says YHWH of Hosts: He has sent Me after glory, to the nations who plundered you; for he who touches you touches the pupil of His eye.

Zec 2:5 And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, and I will be for glory in her midst, declares YHWH.

Isa 4:2  In that day the Branch of YHWH will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth for pride and for glory for the survivors of Israel.
Isa 4:3  And it shall be, he remaining in Zion, and he who is left in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, every one who is written among the living in Jerusalem;
Isa 4:4  when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and the blood of Jerusalem shall have been rinsed away from its midst by a spirit of judgment, and by a spirit of burning.
Isa 4:5  Then YHWH will create a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night, over all the site of Mount Zion, and over her assemblies; for on all the glory will be a canopy
(chuppah).
Isa 4:6  And there shall be a booth for a shade from the heat, and for a refuge, and for a hiding place from storm and rain.

Under His wings = under His skirt/kanaph.

This is a term of intimacy between a man and His wife.

Deu 22:30  A man shall not take his father’s wife, and shall not uncover his father’s skirt.

Rth 3:9  And he said, Who are you? And she said, I am your handmaid Ruth, and you shall spread your skirt over your handmaid, for you are a kinsman redeemer.

Eze 16:8  And I passed by you, and I looked on you, and, behold, your time was the time of love. And I spread My skirt over you and covered your nakedness. And I swore to you and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord YHWH. And you became Mine.

Kerubim

Cherubim overshadowed the ark of the covenant with their wings…abiding under His wings=abiding in His Word/Jesus .  The Kerubim were those who guarded the Tree of Life.  When we are abiding under the shadow of His wings we are entering back spiritually in the Garden.  See PaRDeSclick here studies.

Kerubim

Exo 25:20  And the cherubs shall be spreading out wings above, covering the mercyseat with their wings, and their faces each toward its brother; the faces of the cherubs shall be toward the mercyseat.

Abiding in the Shadow of His wings means we are protected from adversity.  This can also be seen by walking in the Torah.

Psa 94:12  Blessed is the man You chasten, O YHWH, You teach him out of Your Law;

Psa 94:13  to give him rest from troubled days, until the pit is dug for the wicked.

Psa 94:14  For YHWH will not leave His people; nor will He forsake His inheritance.

Abiding under the shadow of His wings again goes back to the imagery in the Temple of the Kerubim.  Abiding in His Word = abiding under the shadow of His wings = abiding in Messiah (John 15)

Interestingly, going back to the root of the word rachaph רחף (hovering/under wings of bird) also connects to the Temple in that the word for barefoot comes from the same root (חף).  According to history, the Kohanim would always walk barefoot in the Temple due to it being holy ground as in Exodus 3:5 & Joshua 5:15.

Abiding under the shadow of His wings and walking in His Light

Psa 36:7  How precious is Your mercy, O God! And the sons of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. {Under the shadow  of His wings refers back to the Spirit hovering over the waters}
Psa 36:8  They shall be satisfied from the abundance of Your house; and You make them drink the torrent of Your pleasures (Eden).
Psa 36:9  For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.

Who abides in His shadow? Zion
Psa 36:8  They shall be satisfied (watered) from the abundance of Your house; and You make them drink the torrent of Your pleasures.
Pleasures=Eden
Rev 21:6  And He said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the Ending. To the one thirsting, I will freely give of the fountain of the Water of Life.
Rev 22:17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And the one hearing, let him say, Come! And the one thirsting, let him come; and the one desiring, let him take of the water of life freely.

Evening and morning were the first day…at the going down of the sun and the rising of the sun is when the birds are heard singing.

Psa 65:8  And those living in the uttermost parts are afraid of Your signs; You make the outgoings of the morning and the evening to rejoice.

Morning and evening our Creator is calling us to Him.  Calling us to the shadow of His wings.  Calling us back to Him through the Messiah under His outstretched arms.

This is also seen in the Temple/Tabernacles services.

Every morning and every evening (Exodus 29:38-42), they would sacrifice a lamb, with its compliment oblation (grain offering), and libation (wine offering). These sacrifices allowed them twice a day to remember or to ‘re-experience’ the salvation of YHWH.  At the ‘Last Supper’ Messiah brought forth the bread & the wine and then offered Himself as the lamb of the New Covenant.  Passover occurs at the beginning of the year, it is a picture of being reborn in Messiah, pointing back to the beginning/creation of the world.  The Flood of Noah was a type of rebirth (1 Peter 3:20) where the dry land appeared in the first month (Genesis 8:13).  So too, at the Passover in Egypt during the Exodus, Yisrael passed through the Yam Suf and were baptized (1 Corithians 10:2)  Baptism is a picture of being born again, into the body of Messiah (1 Corinthians 12:13; Colossians 3:11; Galatians 3:27-28).  Interestingly the word for unison traces back to ‘son’ the root of sound

If one takes two stringed instruments that are tuned the same (in harmony) and one plucks the string of one instrument, the other instrument’s string will vibrate and produce same sound.

Joh 10:16  And I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must also lead those, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock, one Shepherd.

Psa 29:3  The voice of YHWH is on the waters; the God of glory thunders; YHWH is above many waters.

This Psalm was said to be sung in ancient times during Shavuot and Sukkot at ‘the pouring out of the Spirit’ (thunderstorms).

The Hebrew word translated as ‘voice’ comes from:

The Spirit of God hovering over the waters is connected to the Voice of God over the waters.  Here the imagery connects the Bird overshadowing/covering her brood with the Shepherd and his flock.  In the first verse of Genesis a shadow picture of Messiah gathering His people is seen.  Waters in the Scriptures is used as a type for people (Psalm 65:7).  Here a picture of Messiah hovering/covering His people and on day 3 the dry land appears.  This is a shadow picture of the resurrection.  The number 3 and resurrection is a sign of the Messiah in Scriptures.  We are His Body and therefore will also be resurrected on the ’3rd day’ (Hosea 6:2).

The Spirit is likened to a dove at the Baptism of Messiah.  Baptism is a symbol of rebirth, hence the Spirit/Dove is linked to rebirth and resurrection.
Luk 3:21  And it happened, in the baptizing of all the people, Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened;
Luk 3:22  and the Holy Spirit came down in a bodily form as a dove upon Him. And there was a voice out of Heaven, saying, You are My Son, the Beloved; in You I have been delighting.
Psa. 2:7; Gen 22:2; Isa. 42:1

The Creation

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth;
Gen 1:2  and the earth being without form and empty, and darkness on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moving gently on the face of the waters,

A replay of this was seen when the virgin Mary conceived and brought forth the Messiah…the Light of the world.  The Spirit hovered over her ‘waters/womb’, the Seed (the Word) was implanted and she brought forth the Tree of Life.

Luk 1:35  And answering, the angel said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, and for this reason that Holy One being born of you will be called Son of God.

Is it just coincidence that ‘consonant’ comes from the same root ‘son’ in English?  Could it also be coincidence that the Hebrew alphabet is made up of all consonants?  This same Hebrew alphabet that makes up the Word.  The Word that became flesh and dwelt among us. Is this why Zephaniah prophesied that the clear lip of Hebrew would be returned to usclick here (Zephaniah 3:9)?

Rom 15:6  that with one accord and with one mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

What does the English word accord trace back to?   Accordare (Italian) “to attune an instrument” and Latin. accordare “make agree,” lit. “be of one heart.  Again a reference to being born again or circumcision of the heart.  How is the heart circumcised?  Through the Word (Hebrew 4:12; Luke 24:31-32; Acts 2:37; Jeremiah 32:39-40).  It is through this circumcision/entering of the Word that Light comes forth (Psalm 119:130)

The Hebrew word circumcision comes from:

מול comes from the root:

Or it could be said ConSONants brought together to form Words.  Each of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet have different meanings since Hebrew is a pictographic language.  Different parts come together to form the Word.  Just as different parts of the Tabernacle, which had different functions came together to become ONE (Exodus 36:13).

1Co 12:12  For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
1Co 12:13  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1Co 12:14  For the body is not one member, but many.

One Voice in unity/harmony is linked with the Glory of YHWH.  Recall that His Glory appeared when Israel was gathered together as one at the consecration of the priesthood, which is a picture of Messiah gathering His people together when He returnsclick here.

The Glory of YHWH is connected w/ music
Luk 2:32  a Light for revelation to the nations, and the Glory
(Greek doxia=Praise) of Your people Israel.

In 2 Chronicles 5:11-13, the Levitical priests sing songs of praise unto the Most High and His Glory appears to Yisrael.  This is true harmony or ‘armonia’ in Spanish.

Messiah is His Glory…His Light

Rev 21:23  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Eze 43:2  And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east. And His voice was like the voice of many waters. And the earth shone from His glory.

His Glory and the Rainbow

Beginning with water, resonating the right sound will produce all the colors of the light spectrum.

Notice the connection between the waters, the rainbow and the throne of God.

Psa 29:10  YHWH sits upon the flood; yea, YHWH sits as King forever.
Rev 4:3  And the One sitting was in appearance like a jasper stone, and a sardius; and a rainbow was around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.
Eze 1:27  And I saw Him, like the color of polished bronze, looking like fire within it all around. From the appearance of His loins and upward, and from the appearance of His loins and downward, I saw Him looking like fire; and brightness to it all around.
Eze 1:28  As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of the rain, so appeared the brightness all around. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of YHWH. And I saw, and I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.

Sound & Light…Frequencies

E.W. Bullinger – Number in Scripture pg 18

One more step brings us to colour, which is caused by the vibrations of light, as sound is caused by the vibrations of air. There is a relation between the two, so that a particular colour corresponds to a particular note in music.

Hence there are seven colours answering to the seven musical sounds, and it is found that sounds which harmonize, correspond with colours that harmonize. While discords in colour correspond with discords in music.

The seven, both in music and colour, are divided into three and four. Three primary colours and four secondary, from which all others proceed, answer to the three primary sounds called the Tri-chord, or common chord, and four secondary.

The subject is too abstruse to enlarge further upon here. Sufficient has been said to show that in the works of God all is perfect harmony, order and symmetry, both in number and design; and one corresponds with the other in a real and wonderful manner.

The Menorah and the Solfeggio Scale

Identity – You are the Tabernacle of God by John Saba pg 54

Day 1 of creation corresponds to day 4.  Day 2 corresponds to day 5.  Day 3 corresponds to day 6.  The Light of the 1st day connects with the light of the sun on day 4.  The fish in the 5th day and the water of the 2nd day connect.  Man in the 6th day connects with the earth/dust from whence he came.  Using this pattern Mr. Saba found that the menorah shows the original Solfeggio scale Solfeggio Scale .

Left to right
174, 285, 396
Right to left
417, 528, 639
Bottom to right to left
741, 852, 963

1: Ut=396=9
2. Re=417=3
3. Mi=528=6
4. Fa=639=0
5. Sol=741=3
6. La=852=6

Here we see a connection, via the Menorah, between light and sound.  The 7 branches of the Menorah correspond to the 7 notes in the musical scale and the 7 colors in the color spectrum and the 7 wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Sound resonating on the waters

Going back to the Hebrew word רחף (hovering/moving) this word is also translated as ‘shake’ in the Scriptures (Jeremiah 23:9)  This describes perfectly Genesis 1:2-3.

Sound operates in waves.  Light operates in particles & waves.  Light can travel through a vacuum whereas sound can’t.  Sound needs a medium in order to travel.  The Light in the beginning is the medium by which sounds resonates through the universe.

Light can be seen, sound can’t (for the most part).

The Light came out of darkness and waters (or that which can’t be seen).  In Hebrew the word for what is מה

The picture being painted here is Light coming out of darkness.  Or the physical manifestation of God coming out of the unknown.  The Scriptures define Messiah Jesus as the Light (Isaiah 9:2; John 1:9; 8:2; 9:5; 12:46), yet it is clear that Messiah Jesus is the Creator (Ephesians 3:9; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Colossians 1:16) who was in the beginning with the Father (John 17:5) so the Light coming forth from the darkness isn’t speaking of the ‘creation’ of Messiah.  It is a picture of Him physically manifesting in His creation.

Here in the beginning we see two manifestations of Messiah Jesus in His glorified form.  The first as the Word/Voiceclick here of God which can be heard but not seen and as the Lightclick here which can be seen but not heard.

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2  The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Joh 1:6  There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

Sound moving on the waters brought forth Light.  Light (carried/bore) ‘children’ (sound/words/atoms).

Hebrew words (the Word) break down to 3 letter conSONental root.  Each word has a Parent root of 2 letters with 3rd letter making the root ‘usable’.  This is how atoms and molecules work.  Multiple elements join together to form molecules which make up matter.  The electron of the atom is constantly spinning and moving, just as in Hebrew every word comes from a root word which is a verb click here .

The English word ‘sound’ traces back to the following Hebrew word:

Notice again the connection to water, and thunder as in Psalm 29.

Isa 66:6  A roaring sound from the city! A sound from the temple! It is the sound of YHWH repaying retribution to His enemies.

Isa 66:6  קול שׁאון מעיר קול מהיכל קול יהוה משׁלם גמול לאיביו׃

Qol Sha’on (Roaring voice)  This portion of text then speaks of the birth of Zion (Isaiah 66:7-8).  Again a connection between the Voice/Sound of God and birth/rebirth (Psalm 29:9; 89:15; John 5:25, 28-29).  This concept is further seen in the voice/Spirit of God moving on the waters and bringing forth Light.  Light is seen as life (John 1:4) whereas darkness is seen as death (Psalm 107:10; Job 10:21).  Furthermore, man is given life through the Spirit/Breathe of God.  Without it we perish (Ecclesiastes 12:7).  The connection between breathe/Spirit, His Voice/Word and Light is seen in the organs human body…more on this below.

Not surprisingly, sound is related to water in the English language as well.

Light & Light

Light (not heavy) and light (illumination) are related
Lungs, Light & Water…

The eternal organs in our bodies are a shadow picture of the Kingdom click here.  Our bodies are His Temple (Ephesians 2:21-22; 5:30; 1 Corinthians 6:19).   In the book of Revelation (Chapter 4) John is shown a vision of the Throne of God.  When our hearts are circumcised (Deuteronomy 10:15; 30:6; Jeremiah 32:39-40; Ezekiel 11:19-20, Colossians 2:11-13; Hebrews 4:11-14; Luke 24:31-32)  Elohim is enthroned (Romans 10:8-10).  Around His throne are 4 living creatures (Revelation 4:6) which represents the 4 chambers of the human heart.  Around the throne and the 4 living creatures are 24 elders (Revelation 4:4) representing the 24 ribs surrounding the human heart.  From the heart blood is pumped to the Lungs.  As seen above the etymology of the English word ‘Lung’ traces back to the meaning of Light.  In our bodies our lungs have 7 vascular bundles called nodes.  These represent the 7 Spirits of God (Revelation 4:5; Isaiah 11:1-3).  These 7 Spirits/Ruach/Breathe are pictured in the earthly Tabernacle/Temple by the Menorah.  The Menorah is a picture of the Tree of Life.  The Light of the world.

When we breathe we proclaim His Name.  When we inhale it sounds like ‘Yah’ and when we exhale it sounds like ‘weh.’…..One mouth, one Word…

Menorah

As seen above, the image of the Menorah is related to Genesis 1:2.  As mentioned above, Messiah on the cross/tree with His outstretched arms points back to Genesis 1:2 and the spirit hovering over the waters/bird overshadowing her brood.  The menorah displays this concept.

Was the crucifixion really an image of the Menorah?

The Scriptures speak of the crucifixion being on a tree
Act 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you seized, hanging Him on a tree.
Act 10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did, both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem. They did away with Him, hanging Him on a tree.
Act 13:29 And when they finished all the things having been written concerning Him, taking Him down from the tree, they laid Him in a tomb.
Gal 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us; for it has been written, “Cursed is everyone having been hung on a tree;”
Deut. 21:23
1Pe 2:24 who “Himself carried up in His body our sins” onto the tree; that dying to sins, we might live to righteousness, of whom “by His wound you were healed.”

Jesus was crucified in the midst of two thieves

Joh 19:18 where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, on this side and on that side, and Jesus in the middle.

Traditionally this is the image that is portrayed of the crucifixion.

But if this were the case the following Scripture would make no sense.

Joh 19:31 Then, since it was Preparation, that the bodies not remain on the cross on the sabbath, for great was the day of that sabbath, the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and they be taken away.
Joh 19:32 Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other crucified with Him.
Joh 19:33 But on coming to Jesus, when they saw He was dead already, they did not break His legs.

Why would the soldiers break the legs of the 1st and 3rd person and then go to Jesus last? If they were all crucified on one tree this would make perfect sense as they would make a circle starting from the 1st thief and working around to the Messiah.  If Messiah and the two thieves were crucified on a single tree then the image that would have been formed would have been a menorah.

Another hint of this is seen in the following verse:

Joh 19:31  Then, since it was Preparation, that the bodies not remain on the cross on the sabbath, for great was the day of that sabbath, the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and they be taken away.

Notice it says bodies (plural) should not remain on the cross (singular).  The text seems to indicate that all 3 bodies were on a single ‘cross’ which in Greek would be stauros (tree).

Ernest Martin

“Since we are told by the apostle John (who was an eyewitness to the crucifixion) that all three were crucified on ONE stauros (i.e. a single tree), it is easy to see how the Roman soldiers broke the legs of the robber in the Messiah’s right side (who had his back to the Messiah and was located on the northeast side of him) and then they broke the legs of the robber on the Messiah’s left side (who also had his back to the Messiah but was located on the southeast side of him). So, proceeding from the northeast side of the tree of crucifixion, the soldiers killed the first robber, went to the southeast side and killed the second robber, but they then came to the Messiah who was facing (let us say) westward towards his Father’s Temple. When they reached Yeshua they found him dead already. (Secrets of Golgotha, pp. 176-177).”

Tree of Life

The verses that speak of Messiah being crucified on a tree use the word ξύλον xulon for tree.  This is the same word used for tree of life in the New Testament.

Rev 22:2  In the midst of its street and of the river, from here and from there, was a tree of life producing twelve fruits: according to one month each yielding its fruit. And the leaves of the tree were for healing of the nations.

Rev 22:14  Blessed are the ones doing His commands, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and by the gates they may enter into the city.

Isa 60:2  For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples. But YHWH shall rise on you, and His glory shall be seen on you.

The Hebrew words for ‘light’ and ‘word’ are also similar in that they have the same meaning of order.

Light comes from the following root word:

Word comes from the following root word:

Webster’s 1828 Dictionary
Order
OR’DER, n. [L. ordo.]

The english word order comes from the Latin ordo.  Tracing this word back in the Latin vulgate brings forth an interesting connection to the concept of light being order.

Job is speaking of death/sheol/hell as a land of darkness without order.  Is this the true meaning of ‘hell on earth’.  No order.  No light.  No relationship with YHWH, hence no Word.

Job 10:21  before I go; and I shall not return; to the land of darkness, and the shadow of death;
Job 10:22  a land of obscurity, the darkness of the shadow of death, and without any order (Latin ordo, Heb. seder); even the shining is as darkness.

This is what the ‘new world order’ or ‘one world order’ is.  It is a false light/order which in reality is pure darkness.  Interestingly, Lucifer means light bearer/bringer but in reality is the bringer of darkness and lawlessness.  This is what Messiah spoke of:

Mat 6:23  But if your eye is evil, all your body is dark. If, then, the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

Again, through studying the biblical definition of the word Light, we can see that YHWH=Word=Spirit=Jesus.
Psa 43:3  O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

The entering of His Words brings forth Light

Psa 119:130  The entering of Your Word gives light, giving discernment to the simple.

As seen above, the Spirit hovering over the waters connects to the Spirit hovering over the womb of the Virgin Mary which led to her giving birth to the Messiah, the Light of the world.  His body, the ‘manchild’ is born in the same manner as seen in Revelation 12.  Revelation 12 shows the birth of Messiah and the birth of His Body/Bride/Manchild/Zion.  Zion is a people (Isaiah 51:16), Zion is a land (Psalm 48).  A city on a hill bringing forth the Light (Matthew 5:14).  The earth came forth from the waters on day 3, Messiah was resurrected on the 3rd day (Matthew 12:40), His people are raised up on the 3rd day (Hosea 6:3).  The earth comes out of the water with 7 land masses, Jerusalem is a land with 7 mountains (1 Enoch 17:6-8).  His body, pictured by the Menorah has 7 branches, the Messiah was anointed with the 7 Spirits of Elohim (Revelation 5:6; Isaiah 11:1-3).  Going back to Genesis 1:1click here and the enlarged Bet, it is certainly seen that the desire of the Most High in creating the universe was to build a house for to dwell with His bride.

1Co 4:6  And, brothers, I transferred these things to myself and Apollos because of you, that in us you may learn not to think above what has been written, that you not be puffed up one over the other.

The Mind of Messiah

1Co 2:16  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Spirit of YHWH = Mind of Messiah
Isa 40:13  Who has meted out the Spirit of YHWH, or a man His counsel taught Him?
1Co 2:16  For “who has known the mind of the Lord?” “Who will teach Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. Isa. 40:13

Phi 2:5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Phi 2:6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Phi 2:7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Phi 2:8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
1Pe 4:1  Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
1Pe 4:2  That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
1Pe 4:3  For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
1Pe 4:4  Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
1Pe 4:5  Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
1Pe 4:6  For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
1Pe 2:23  Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
1Pe 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1Pe 2:25  For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

His Mind was to do the will of the Father as mentioned above.
Luk 22:42  Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

We cannot walk with Messiah and do the will of men

Luk 16:13  No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Luk 16:14  And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
Luk 16:15  And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Who are we trying to please???
Joh 5:41  I receive not honour from men.
Joh 5:42  But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
Joh 5:43  I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Joh 5:44  How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
Joh 7:7  The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
Joh 7:16  Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
Joh 7:17  If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
Joh 7:18  He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
Joh 12:43  For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Joh 12:23  And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
Joh 12:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
Joh 12:25  He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
Joh 12:26  If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Joh 14:15  If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:16  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Joh 14:17  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Joh 14:21  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Joh 14:22  Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
Joh 14:23  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Joh 14:24  He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

Gal 1:10  For do I now persuade men or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I would not be a slave of Christ.
Gal 1:11  And, brothers, I make known to you the gospel preached by me, that it is not according to man.
Gal 1:12  For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but by a revelation of Jesus Christ.
Gal 1:13  For you heard my way of life when I was in Judaism, that with surpassing zeal I persecuted the assembly of God and ravaged it.
Gal 1:14  And I progressed in Judaism beyond many contemporaries in my race, being much more a zealot of the traditions of my ancestors.
Gal 1:15  But when God was pleased, He having separated me from my mother’s belly, and having called me through His grace, Isa. 49:1
Gal 1:16  to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the nations, immediately I did not confer with flesh and blood,
Gal 1:17  nor did I go up to Jerusalem to the apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia and returned again to Damascus.

Joh 1:18  No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, that One declares Him.

Messiah is the Word that came from the Bosom of the Father in order to draw mankind back to Him.  This is how Messiah “imitated” God.  He is the express image of the Father.
Heb 1:2  in these last days He spoke to us in the Son, whom He appointed heir of all; through whom He indeed made the ages;
Heb 1:3  who being the shining splendor of His glory, and the express image of His essence, and upholding all things by the Word of His power, having made purification of our sins through Himself, He sat down on the right of the Majesty on high, Psa. 110:1
Joh 14:7  If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you do know Him, and have seen Him.
Joh 14:8  And Philip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.
Joh 14:9  Jesus said to him, Am I so long a time with you, and you have not known Me, Philip? The one seeing Me has seen the Father! And how do you say, Show us the Father?
Joh 14:10  Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The Words which I speak to you I do not speak from Myself, but the Father who abides in Me, He does the works.
Joh 14:11  Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me; but if not, believe Me because of the works themselves.
Messiah manifested the image of the Father because of what He did (His works).  He imitated the Father in order to reveal Him to the world.
Joh 5:19  Then Jesus answered and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, The Son is not able to do anything from Himself, except what He may see the Father doing; for whatever that One does, these things also the Son does likewise.
Joh 5:20  For the Father loves the Son and shows to Him all things which He does. And He will show Him greater works than these in order that you may marvel.
So too, we are to imitate God by what we do (our works) by walking in Love.
1Jn 2:5  But whoever keeps His Word, truly in this one the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him.
1Jn 2:6  The one claiming to rest in Him ought so to walk himself as that One walked.
1Jn 5:1  Everyone believing that Jesus is the Christ has been generated from God. And everyone who loves Him who begets also loves the one who has been born of Him.
1Jn 5:2  By this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep His commandments.
1Jn 5:3  For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not heavy.
1Jn 4:11  Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
1Jn 4:12  No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love having been perfected is in us.
1Jn 4:13  By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because of His Spirit He has given to us.

Twinkling of an eye

It is at the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump when Messiah returns and His people are resurrected into His Image that true unity will come as spoken above.  This is seen in the calendar where the new moon is at the twinkling of an eye when the sun {bridegroom} and moon {bride} are in conjunction, or ‘one.’

Psa 72:7 In His days the righteous shall flourish (bud, fly)*, and plenty of peace, till the moon is not (when there is no moon).

*Pointing to the resurrection…Yom Teruahclick here

1Co 15:52 In a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet; for a trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed.

Rabbi Eliezer describes the molad(conjunction) as a “twinkling of an eye” in {The Course of the Moon p55}

The Hebrew word for blink is ‘patah’ from the root ‘pat’.

The root word comes from ‘pat’ which is the word for a woman’s privy. This links to the first birth, blinking/awakening (picture of resurrection) is linked to the 2nd birth.

Another amazing link to the 2nd birth/birth of the manchild of Revelation 12 is seen Isaiah 8

Isa 8:18 Behold, I and the children (Messiah & His Body) whom YHWH has given to me are for signs and wonders (mophat) in Israel from YHWH of Hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion.

On a deeper level, this link between birth/resurrection and the molad/conjunction is seen at Golgotha during the crucifixion of Messiah. The sun was darkened (Luke 23:45). In the natural, the sun is only darkened during a solar eclipse which can only occur during the conjunction between the sun and moon. It is at this time, when the sun was darkened that the bride of Messiah was born. Just as Eve came forth from the side of Adam when he slept (death), so too the bride of Messiah came forth from His side when blood and water fell at Calvary.

On an even deeper level, this link between the molad/conjunction and birth/rebirth is seen in the word ‘chodesh’ which means renewal and is applied to the new moon/month. Chodesh comes from ‘chad.’

Chad/Echad means unity and is the picture of 2 becoming one. This happens when a man and woman come together and ‘know’ each other. This is connected with the new moon and the sun and moon coming together to become ‘one.’ The Hebrew word for the male privy is ארך ‘arak’ which is the same word for the shaft of the Menorah. On a deeper level this shows that light going into darkness is when ‘chad’ takes place. Further illustrating this is the word menorah itself. It comes from the Hebrew word נר ‘ner’ which is seen when farmers plow their fields in order to plant seed. The ground that is broken up is saturated with water and the light that reflects from the sun is what ‘ner’ means. Again light comes forth from darkness as is seen in Gen 1 and in the moon cycles. The seed is planted in the earth, which is likened to a womb according to David in Psalm 137. On another level this represents being born againclick here. The biblical definition of being born again begins when He plants His seed (His Word) in our hearts. The seed must die and be born again into a new creature. This is what baptism is about, we descend into darkness to begin our new lives and come forth again. The new moon begins at darkness then light comes forth 1-3 days later. Messiah resurrected after 3 days, His people resurrect after 3 days (Hos 6). Messiah speaks of the seed dying as a picture of resurrection (John 12:24) and Paul connects this as well (1 Cor 15).

This

In conclusion:

Paul in Philippians 2  sums up the concept of unity.  We are to strive for unity IN Messiah by putting on His Mind.  We as individuals are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).  We must seek His Will which is His Word and follow it.  If that means we aren’t a part of the larger group then so be it for TRUE unity is only found in Messiah, not in agreements of men.  If we seek His will/Word and not our own, then it is YHWH who is working in us to lead us into maturity/perfection.  We are all at different levels in our walks with Him and we all see through a glass darkly.  If we seek His Word/Truth in Love then we are on the right path (Proverbs 4:18; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 2:15).

Pro 4:18  But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect {כון} day.

Php 2:1  So then, if there is any comfort in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tendernesses and compassions,
Php 2:2  fulfill my joy, that you think the same, having the same love, one in soul, minding the one thing,
Php 2:3  doing nothing according to party spirit or self-glory, but in humility, esteeming one another as surpassing themselves;
Php 2:4  each not looking at the things of themselves, but each also the things of others.
Php 2:5  For think this within you, which mind was also in Christ Jesus,
Php 2:6  who subsisting in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God,
Php 2:7  but emptied Himself, taking the form of a slave, having become in the likeness of men
Php 2:8  and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, having become obedient until death, even the death of a cross.
Php 2:9  Because of this also God highly exalted Him and gave Him a name above every name,
Php 2:10  that at the name of Jesus “every knee should bow,” of heavenly ones, and earthly ones, and ones under the earth,
Php 2:11  and “every tongue should confess” that Jesus Christ is “Lord,” to the glory of God the Father. Isa. 45:23
Php 2:12  So, then, my beloved, even as you always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, cultivate your salvation (KJV work out your own salvation} with fear and trembling,

Php 2:13  for it is God who is working in you both to will and to work for the sake of His good pleasure.
Php 2:14  Do all things without murmurings and disputings,
Php 2:15  that you may be blameless and harmless, children of God, without fault in the midst of a crooked generation, even having been perverted, among whom you shine as luminaries in the world,
Php 2:16  holding up the Word of Life, for a boast to me in the day of Christ, that I ran not in vain, nor labored in vain.

1Co 13:4  Love has patience, is kind; love is not envious; love is not vain, is not puffed up;
1Co 13:5  does not behave indecently, does not pursue its own things, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;
1Co 13:6  does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth.
1Co 13:7  Love quietly covers all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1Co 13:8  Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will be caused to cease; if tongues, they shall cease; if knowledge, it will be caused to cease.
1Co 13:9  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
1Co 13:10  but when the perfect thing comes, then that which is in part will be caused to cease.
1Co 13:11  When I was an infant, I spoke as an infant, I thought as an infant, I reasoned as an infant. But when I became a man, I caused to cease the things of the infant.
1Co 13:12  For now we see through a mirror in dimness, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will fully know even as I also was fully known.

1Co 13:13  And now faith, hope, and love, these three things remain; but the greatest of these is love.
