Messiah in the Torah – Genesis 1:9-13

Gen 1:9  And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be collected to one place, and let the dry land appear. And it was so.
Gen 1:10  And God called the dry land, Earth. And He called the collection of the waters, Seas. And God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:11  And God said, Let the earth sprout tender sprouts, the plant seeding seed, the fruit tree producing fruit according to its kind, whichever seed is in it on the earth. And it was so.
Gen 1:12  And the earth bore tender sprouts, the plant seeding seed according to its kind, and the fruit tree producing fruit according to its kind, whichever seed is in it. And God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:13  And there was evening, and there was morning the third day.

Baptism & Resurrection

Gen 1:9  And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be collected to one place, and let the dry land appear. And it was so.

The word collected/gathered in verse 9 is from the Hebrew word ‘qavah’ which is from the same Hebrew root word as mikvah/baptize.

Both words come from the root:

Notice that this word is related to ‘qav’ qof, vav.

Both words qav, and qah have similiar meanings.  To bind, collect, a cord, to hope and wait.

Qav – Measuring the earth

http://www.yarahministries.org/pdf/World3168.pdf

Psa 19:1  To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens are recounting the glory of God, and the expanse proclaiming His handiwork.
Psa 19:2  Day by day they pour forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.
Psa 19:3  There is no speech, nor are there words where their voice is not heard.
Psa 19:4  Their measuring line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world; in them He has set up a dwelling-place for the sun,

The word translated as “line” in verse 4 is the Hebrew word “KAV” and means a cord (as connecting), especially for measuring; figuratively a RULE; In Job 38:4-6 it is written: Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; The Hebrew word translated “measures” in verse 5 is “May-mad”, it means measure, but it comes from the root word “Maw-dad” which means properly to stretch; by implication to measure (as if by stretching a line); figuratively to be extended:—measure, mete, stretch self.

Lets look at some measurements for our earth
Our Earth has a mean diameter of 7920 miles

The Earth, as stated above, has a mean diameter of 7,920 miles. The Earth is surrounded by an oxygen rich atmosphere that extends in three layers, to a distance of 50 miles above the Earth. The crust of the Earth is an average of 10 miles thick. Below that is molten lava. Man’s world is limited to the crust and atmosphere surrounding it. The total of the Earth’s crust (10 miles) and the Earth’s atmosphere (50 miles) totals 60 miles.

The Earth’s elliptical orbit around the sun is given in Webster’s new world dictionary is 595 million miles. If we were to lay that 595 million miles out in a straight line, and then determine the time it would take for light to traverse it’s entire length, we would take the 595 million miles and divide it by the speed of light, 186,000 miles per second, divide the answer by 60 to get the minutes and then divide again by 60 to get the hours. Let’s look. Again, dropping all zero’s 595 million divided by the speed of light 186 = 3198924.7 seconds 3198924.7 seconds divided by 60 = 53315.4 minutes 53315.4 minutes divided by 60 = 888 hours 888 is the numerical value of Jesus, who said: I Am the light of the world: John 8:12

If we were to add together the mean distances from the sun, to all nine planets of our solar system to form a gigantic circle, the total given in the encyclopedia Britannica would be 9,954 (dropping all zero’s. If we divide this total by pi, which is 3.1416, and round off the answer to whole numbers, the answer is (dropping the fraction behind the decimal point) 3168 Again, Lord Jesus Christ.

Which antitype now also saves us, baptism (not a putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ;

The collecting of the waters is a picture of the body of Messiah.  There are 7 bodies of water on the earth which correspond to the 7 branches of the Menorah, yet Genesis 1 describes the gathering of these waters into one, just as the Menorah was made of on beaten piece of gold (Exodus 25:36).

The link between water and people is further seen in the word for people in Hebrew.

Birth & Resurrection

The earth & the womb

In the first verse of Genesis a shadow picture of Messiah gathering His people is seen.  Waters in the Scriptures is used as a type for people (Psalm 65:7).  Here a picture of Messiah hovering/covering His people and on day 3 the dry land appears.  This is a shadow picture of the resurrection.  The number 3 and resurrection is a sign of the Messiah in Scriptures.  We are His Body and therefore will also be resurrected on the ’3rd day’ (Hosea 6:2).

The Spirit is likened to a dove at the Baptism of Messiah.  Baptism is a symbol of rebirth, hence the Spirit/Dove is linked to rebirth and resurrection.
Luk 3:21  And it happened, in the baptizing of all the people, Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened;
Luk 3:22  and the Holy Spirit came down in a bodily form as a dove upon Him. And there was a voice out of Heaven, saying, You are My Son, the Beloved; in You I have been delighting.
Psa. 2:7; Gen 22:2; Isa. 42:1

The Creation

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth;
Gen 1:2  and the earth being without form and empty, and darkness on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moving gently on the face of the waters,

A replay of this was seen when the virgin Mary conceived and brought forth the Messiah…the Light of the world.  The Spirit hovered over her ‘waters/womb’, the Seed (the Word) was implanted and she brought forth the Tree of Life.

Luk 1:35  And answering, the angel said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, and for this reason that Holy One being born of you will be called Son of God.

Psa 139:13  For You have possessed my inward parts; You wove me in the womb of my mother.
Psa 139:14  I will thank You, for with awesome ways I am distinguished; Your works are marvelous, and my soul knows it very well.
Psa 139:15  My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret; when I was woven in the depths of the earth.

Here we seen that the womb is likened to the earth.  In Hebraic thought, the womb is also likened to waters.

http://www.memministries.org/myst_letter.html

Water
In ancient Hebrew thought, the letter Mem symbolizes water. In fact, its name is derived from the Hebrew word for water, mayim. The connection of Mem to water is very significant given the other concepts with which the letter is interconnected.

The Number 40
Each Hebrew letter has a numerical value. The value of Mem is 40. This is significant in several ways:

1. The number 40 appears numerous times in both the Old and New Testaments connected to the concepts cleansing or refining. Two such examples are the flood of Noah and the temptation of Jesus. Furthermore, many of these accounts that mention 40 are closely associated with water. Noah’s flood was a massive cleansing by water, and Jesus’ temptation took place immediately after he was baptized in the Jordan river.

2. The Mikvah, or Hebrew ritual immersion must contain at least 40 sa’ahs of water (about 200 gallons) to be a mikvah. Thus the number 40 and the concept of water again connect the idea of cleansing intimately to the letter Mem.

A Womb and a Tomb
Mem is already associated with water and cleansing, but the depth of symbolism goes even further. In both Jewish and Christian understanding, immersion/baptism is a place of death and rebirth. Our old self dies, and our we are born again, clean and renewed. As if this simple symbolism were not enough, the letter Mem literally illustrates this concept.

There are two forms of the letter Mem, one used at the beginning or middle of words (open), and one only used to end a word (closed).

This concept of the letter Mem being a picture of the womb, reveals an important mystery of the Messiah being born from a virgin (closed womb/mem).

Isa 7:14  So, The Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold! The virgin will conceive and will bring forth a son; and she shall call His name Immanuel.
Isa 9:6  For a Child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7  There is no end to the increase of His government and of peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever. The zeal of YHWH of Hosts will do this.

In the Hebrew text an amazing mystery is revealed showing that the Prince of peace will come from the closed womb.  The closed mem should only occur at the end of a word, but in the text it occurs in the middle.  This is the only time in Scripture that this happens.

In Genesis 8, Noah sends forth a dove to when the waters had subsided enough for the earth to be seen.  This too, is a symbol of rebirth.  All throughout Scripture, the number 3 is associated with resurrection as can be seen in the Book of Jonah and the resurrection of Messiah for examples.  On the third day, the earth came forth out of the waters and brought forth life.

The Spirit is linked with rebirth

1Pe 3:18  Because even Christ once suffered concerning sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God; indeed being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit;
Rom 8:11  But if the Spirit of the One having raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One having raised the Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies live through the indwelling of His Spirit in you.

Joh 3:3   “Yes, indeed,” Yeshua answered him,  “I tell you that unless a person is born again from above, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

Joh 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Tit 3:5 He saved us, not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His compassion, through the washing of rebirth, and renewal by the Set-apart Spirit,
1Pe 1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1Jo 3:9  Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Jam 1:18  Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Jas 1:21  On account of this, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of evil, in meekness receive the implanted Word being able to save your souls.

Jonah’s name, who was ‘resurrected’ after 3 days and nights in the belly of the fish, means a dove.  Again the link between the Spirit and rebirth.

First Fruit = Olive tree

Rom 11:16  Now if the firstfruit is holy, so also the lump. And if the root is holy, so also the branches.

The above verse is speaking of the Olive tree of Yisrael.  The Olive Tree of Yisrael is linked to the menorah (Zechariah 4:14).

7 Branches of the Menorah correspond to the 7 continents

The center of the Menorah is the Messiah (the yarekh/body). The center of the earth is the land of Israel (Ezekiel 8:12), whose center is Jerusalem which is further divided into 7 mountains (1 Enoch 17:6-8; 24:1).  The center of Jerusalem is the Temple which contains the 7 branched menorah, the Holy of Holies is the center of the Temple and the Ark is placed in the center of the Holy of Holies which contains the 7 pillars of Wisdom (Proverbs 9:1) (Midrash Tanhuma).

This word, ‘toar’,  is the root of the word Torah

From this root we get ta’ar and to’ar.  These words mean form, outline or border.  This is an important connection to see in that the mark of the beast versus the mark of YHWH ultimately reflects whose image/form you are in.

This connection between the mark and the image/form/outline/shadow picture of Jesus versus the antichrist is further seen in that the word Torah comes from this same root.

We can have the mark of YHWH and be in His image by walking in His Torah, or we can have the mark of the beast and be in the image of satan by walking in his torah which is lawlessness.

The meaning of this word corresponds to the Hebrew word Tor.  It is only through the resurrection that we will be formed into His image.

1Jn 3:1  See what manner of love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
1Jn 3:2  Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we shall be. But we know that if He is revealed, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.

So what is the counterfeit?  It is a false ‘resurrection’ or born again experience.  It is partaking of the tree of knowledge.  Those who put their faith in Messiah must die to the flesh to be reborn again in the Spirit through His power.  Those who partake of the tree of knowledge must go through degrees and graduations to reach ‘godhood’.  This false born again/resurrection concept is seen throughout the world and the various belief systems of mankind.  The Buddhists and Hindus have the reincarnation concept.  The Jews have the concept of ‘climbing the sephirotic ladder’ and reaching the status of Adam Kadmon (image of Elohim).  The esoteric teachings have initiation experiences. They are all the filthy garments of man’s attempts at righteousness.  It is only YHWH’s righteousness, the garments of salvation that will save us.  We must be in the image of Messiah not the image of the beast.  We must partake of the tree of life, not the tree of knowledge.

In Revelation 7, the word for sealed translates back to the Hebrew word ‘tamim’ which means perfect/complete.  Those who are numbered by YHWH will be sealed with His name and be in the image of Messiah Jesus.  Those who are marked by the adversary will be numbered and given the name of the antichrist and be in his image.

“Through studies such as the IGY (International Geophysical Year), we now know that relatively few elements compose most of the earth’s outer crust, including the layers beneath the oceans.  Silicon, oxygen, hydrogen, and aluminum amount for more than 90 percent of the composition of this layers.  Of even greater significance is the discovery that two of those four elements – hydrogen and oxygen – also account for more than 99 percent of our bodies as well!”

Man is further linked to the earth in the word for man (adam), and the word for ground (adamah).

Adam/adamah comes from the root:

Col 3:12  Therefore, as elect ones of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassions, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering,

Rom 10:12  For there is no difference both of Jew and of Greek, for the same Lord of all is rich toward all the ones calling on Him.

Gal 3:26  for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27  For as many as were baptized into Christ, you put on Christ.
Gal 3:28  There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is no slave nor freeman, there is no male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29  And if you are of Christ, then you are a seed of Abraham, even heirs according to promise.

Interestingly, the word for color in Hebrew is צבע, which has a similar meaning as טבל, seen above.  To dip the finger (especially in blood) to color something.

4 Skin colors – 4 Soil Colors

The four skin tones, pink, yellow, olive and brown, correspond to the 4 colors found in soil.  Soil is found in white, red, yellow and brown colors.

Adam, who came from the ground (adamah) was the father of all mankind.  Later this was replayed in Noah.

Gen 9:18  And the sons of Noah that went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham is the father of Canaan.
Gen 9:19  These are the three sons of Noah, and the whole earth was overspread from them.

Gen 9:20  And Noah, a man of the ground (adamah), began and planted a vineyard.

From Shem, Ham and Japheth the world was overspread/scattered into 70 nations (Genesis 10).  These 70 nations were divided according to the children of Yisrael (Deuteronomy 32:8).

Deu 32:8  when the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance; when He separated the sons of Adam, He set up the bounds of the peoples, according to the number of the sons of Israel.

Amazingly, the taxonomy of soil divides the types of dirt into twelve.

Alfisols, Andisols, Aridsols, Entisols, Gelisols, Histosols, Inceptisols, Mollisols, Oxisols, Spodosols, Ultisols, Vertisols.

Yisrael is a coat of many colors

Gen 37:3  Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.

colours:  Kethoneth passim, a coat made of stripes of different coloured cloth.

The Scriptures, as well as tradition speaks of Yisrael having different shades of skin color.

Genesis Rabah 98:5 says that Simeon and Levi were light colored types
Mishna Negaim 2:1 says that Israelites (in this case Jews of Judah) are mainly of an intermediate type color being neither black (Cushi) or white (Germani)
Genesis Rabah 86:3 says that Joseph was Germani Talmud Sota 36 describes him as having a face like a pink rose
Esau was ruddy/red/blonde Gen 25:25 as was David 1 Samuel 16:2
Laban means white or blonde
The Shepherdess in Song of Solomon was black and comely Son 1:6

Interestingly, color further connects to Israel in the numbers of 7 and 12.  There are 7 colors in the color spectrum which corresponds to the 7 branches of the Menorah.  The Menorah is a picture of the body of Messiah{Revelation 1:20; John 15:5}.  The 7 colors then expand into 12 color hues of the color wheel.

Biblically, race is not defined by color.  Race is defined by what nature you are.  You are either in Messiah or you are not.  You are either for Him or against Him.  You are either the seed of the woman or the seed of the serpent.  As seen above, the word for color in Hebrew has the same meaning as being baptised and becoming anew.  You are either sprinkled by the blood of Messiah (Isaiah 52:15; Hebrew 10:22) or you are still covered in the garments of sinful flesh.

1Pe 2:9  But you are “an elect race,” “a royal priesthood,” “a holy nation,” “a people for possession,” so that “you may openly speak of the virtues” of the One who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; LXX-Ex. 23:22; MT-Ex. 19:5, 6

In Hebrew the word for race is גזע, which means the stock/root of a tree.

H1503
גּזע
geza‛
BDB Definition:
1) stem, trunk, stock (of trees)

Who is the root of Yisrael?  Messiah Jesus

Rom 11:16  For if the firstfruit (1Cor 15:52 -Messiah) be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root (Isa 6:13; Gal 3:16 – Messiah) be holy, so are the branches (Joh 15:5).

Isa 11:1  And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem (H1503 גּזע
geza‛)of Jesse, and a Branch{H5342 נצר netser*} shall grow (parah -bear fruit) out of his roots:

*Netser is the origin of the name ‘Christian’.

The following prophecy is speaking of the Messiah and the 7 Spirits which rest upon Him (Revelation 4:5; 5:6), corresponding to the 7 Branches of the Menorah.
Isa 11:2  And the Spirit of YHWH shall rest on Him; He will have the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and power, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YHWH.
Isa 11:3  And He is made to breathe in the fear of YHWH. But He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears.

The other root spoken of in Scripture is the root of the serpent

Isa 14:29  Do not rejoice, O Philistia, all of you, for the rod of your striking is broken, because a viper comes forth from the root of a snake, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

Notice that from the root of a snake comes for the fruit of a serpent.  Above, from the root of Jesse comes forth the fruit of the Spirit.  This is the true meaning of race.  The seed of the woman or the seed of the serpent.  Ye shall know them by their fruits.

Mat 7:14  For narrow is the gate, and constricted is the way that leads away into life, and few are the ones finding it.
Mat 7:15  But beware of the
false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inside they are plundering wolves.
Mat 7:16
From their fruits you shall know them. Do they gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
Mat 7:17  So every good tree produces good fruits, but the corrupt tree produces evil fruits.
Mat 7:18  A good tree cannot produce evil fruits, nor a corrupt tree produce good fruits.
Mat 7:19  Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and is thrown into fire.
Mat 7:20  Then surely from their fruits you shall know them.
Mat 7:21  Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven.
Mat 7:22  Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power?
Mat 7:23  And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; “depart from Me, those working lawlessness!”
Psa. 6:8

Notice the link between sheep & fruit.  The word for race is גזע which comes from the root:

This Hebrew word links both sheep (fleece) and grass.  Again, it is only by the fruit (words and actions) that you can know what is within.

To further illustrate this idea, the word for earth is eretz, ארצ.  It means broken, crushed, fragmented from the root רץ.

Who shall inherit the land/earth?  Those who are of a broken and contrite spirit.

Isa 66:1  So says YHWH: Heaven is My throne, and earth the footstool of My feet. Where then is the house that you build for Me? And where then is the place of My rest?
Isa 66:2  And My hand has made all these things, even all these things exist, declares YHWH. But I will look toward this one, to the afflicted, and to the contrite of spirit, even trembling at My Word.
Mat 5:3  Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of the Heavens.
Mat 5:4  Blessed are the ones mourning! For they shall be comforted.
Mat 5:5  Blessed are the meek! For they shall inherit the earth.
Psa. 37:11

The word ‘will’ comes from ratson

H7522 רצן  /  רצון râtsôn

Ratson comes from this same root,

Ratzon root

What is the Father’s will? To keep His Torah/Word…to keep His message

Psa 40:7  Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
Psa 40:8
I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

This is what the Messiah walked in.  He was clothed in the garments of the Word.  It was the body prepared for Him (Hebrew 10:5-7).  The Messiah always walked in the will of the Father, doing what was pleasing to Him (John 8:29)  As seen above, the word for ‘will’, and ‘pleasing’ are one and the same.

After His Kind

Mat 12:50  For whoever does the will of My Father in Heaven, that one is My brother and sister and mother.

He suffered and was broken so that we may be His brethren.

Heb 2:9  but we do see Jesus crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death was made a little less than the angels, so that by the grace of God He might taste of death for all.
Heb 2:10  For it was fitting for Him, because of whom are all things, and through whom are all things, having brought many sons to glory, to perfect Him as the Author of their salvation through sufferings.
Heb 2:11  For both the One sanctifying and the ones being sanctified are all of one; for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brothers,
Heb 2:12  saying, “I will announce Your name to My brothers; I will hymn to You in the midst of the assembly.”
Psa. 22:22
Heb 2:13  And again, “I will be trusting on Him.” Isa. 8:17

And again, “Behold, I and the children whom God gave to Me.” Isa. 8:18
Heb 2:14  Since, then, the children have partaken of flesh and blood, in like manner He Himself also shared the same things, that through death He might cause to cease the one having the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15  and might set these free, as many as by fear of death were subject to slavery through all the lifetime to live.
Heb 2:16  For indeed He does not take hold of angels, “but He takes hold of” “the seed of Abraham.”
Isa. 41:8, 9

The above Scripture links death with suffering.  This is why man returns to the dust when He dies.  He goes down into the earth (eretz) which is pictured by suffering/being broken.  Man then is resurrected into the image of the one who’s will He followed.  Resurrected into the Image of Messiah and covered in His garments of salvation and bearing the fruit of righteousness or resurrected into the image of the lawless one, who’s garments are as filthy rags and who’s fruit is rotten, who will burn in the lake of fire.

We must walk in the footsteps of Messiah

1Pe 4:1  Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
1Pe 4:2  That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men,
but to the will of God.

Paul combines these concepts together in Romans chapter 8

Rom 8:4  so that the righteous demand of the Law might be fulfilled in us, those not walking according to flesh, but according to Spirit.
Rom 8:5  For the ones that are according to flesh mind the things of the flesh. And the ones according to Spirit mind the things of the Spirit.
Rom 8:6  For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
Rom 8:7  because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards God; for it is not being subjected to the Law of God, for neither can it be.
Rom 8:8  And those being in the flesh are not able to please God.
Rom 8:9  But you are not in flesh, but in Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, this one is not His.
Rom 8:10  But if Christ is in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Rom 8:11  But if the Spirit of the One having raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One having raised the Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies live through the indwelling of His Spirit in you.
Rom 8:12  So, then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to flesh,
Rom 8:13  for if you live according to flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the practices of the body, you will live.
Rom 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Rom 8:15  For you did not receive a spirit of slavery again to fear, but you received a Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba! Father!
Rom 8:16  The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God.
Rom 8:17  And if children, also heirs; truly heirs of God, and joint-heirs of Christ, if indeed we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.
Rom 8:18  For I calculate that the sufferings of the present time are not worthy to compare to the coming glory to be revealed in us.
Rom 8:19  For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly awaits the revelation of the sons of God.
Rom 8:20  For the creation was not willingly subjected to vanity, but through Him subjecting it, on hope;
Rom 8:21  that also the creation will be freed from the slavery of corruption to the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
Rom 8:22  For we know that all the creation groans together and travails together until now.
Rom 8:23  And not only so, but also we ourselves having the firstfruit of the Spirit, also we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly expecting adoption, the redemption of our body;
Rom 8:24  for we were saved by hope, but hope being seen is not hope; for what anyone sees, why does he also hope?
Rom 8:25  But if we hope for what we do not see, through patience we wait eagerly.
Rom 8:26  And likewise the Spirit also joins in to help our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes on our behalf with groanings that cannot be uttered.
Rom 8:27  But the One searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He petitions on behalf of the saints according to God.
Rom 8:28  But we know that to the ones loving God all things work together for good, to those being called according to purpose;
Rom 8:29  because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.
Rom 8:30  But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Rom 8:31  What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Rom 8:32  Truly He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up on behalf of us all, how will He not freely give all things to us with Him?
Rom 8:33  Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? God is the One justifying!
Rom 8:34  Who is he condemning? It is Christ who has died, but rather also is raised, who also is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession on our behalf.
Rom 8:35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
Rom 8:36  Even as it has been written, “For Your sake we are killed all the day; we are counted as sheep of slaughter.”
Psa. 44:22
Rom 8:37  But in all these things we more than conquer through Him loving us.
Rom 8:38  For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39  nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

His Will & Patience

Heb 10:36  For ye have need of patience*, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
*What is patience?

Rom 15:4  For whatever things were written before were written for our instruction, that through patience* and encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Maturity & His Will

The object of becoming perfect/mature is to do His perfect will

Heb 13:20  Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Heb 13:21
Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Mat 5:48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

We are to use our gifts so that the body can be perfect in His will

Eph 4:11  And indeed He gave some to be apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12  with a view to the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ,
Eph 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Green Grass

Gen 1:11  And God said, Let the earth bring forth (dasha) grass (deshe), the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Above, it is seen that the earth bringing forth (dasha) is linked to birth/rebirth/resurrection.  Dasha (bringing forth) is the same Hebrew word as grass (deshe).

Deshe is also translated as green

Psa 23:2  He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me to waters of rest;

Green – Karpas

One of the words translated as green in the Scriptures is ‘karpas’ (Esther 1:6).

Those who have celebrated Passover with a traditional seder are familiar with this word.  It is the point of the meal where the Karpas (usually parsley) is dipped in saltwater, symbolically representing resurrection and passing through the Yam Suf.  This was a picture of baptism and resurrection.

1Co 10:1  And I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the Sea.
1Co 10:2  And all were baptized to Moses in the cloud, and in the Sea,
1Co 10:3  and all ate the same spiritual food.
1Co 10:4  And all drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank of the spiritual rock following, and that Rock was Christ.

One of the words for grass is

Deu 34:7  And Moses was a son of a hundred and twenty years at his death; his eye had not become dim, nor had his natural force abated.

As seen in the study on ‘Nature’click here, this natural force (לח) is related to the nature (phusis) of Messiah.  This again connects to the above concept of race in that the word for race above is the Greek word ‘genos’ which means kind/nature.  The Hebrew word for nature is טבע, which traces back to the root word טב.  This links to another word translated as green/fresh רטב

‘Ratob’ is translated as green in Job 8:16

Job 8:16  He is moist (KJV green) before the sun, and his tender plants shoot forth on his garden.

טב links to the resurrection in Job 33

Job 33:23  If there is a messenger for him, a mediator, one among a thousand, to declare for man his uprightness,
Job 33:24  then let Him be gracious to him and say, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, for I have found a ransom!
Job 33:25  His flesh shall be
fresher* than in vigor; let him return to the days of his youth.
The word fresher, translated above, is from the Hebrew רטפש, which comes from the same root טב

Going back to the word לח ‘lach’, another fascinating connection is seen to the current study.  Those who are reborn in Messiah will be in His image.  Walking Torah Scrolls.

2Co 3:3  it having been made plain that you are Christ’s letter, served by us, not having been inscribed by ink, but by the Spirit of the living God, not in tablets of stone, but in fleshly tablets of the heart.
The word in Hebrew for tablet is ‘luach’ which comes from the above word ‘lach’.

Exo 31:18  And when He finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave to Moses the two tablets (לוח) of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger* of God.

*The word for finger is from the root for the word ‘color’ as seen above, once again linking this to baptism & resurrection.

To further solidify this concept, the Torah written on the hearts is synonymous with circumcision of the heart, circumcision pictures baptism & resurrection (Ezekiel 11:19-20; 36:26-27; Romans 2:29; Colossians 2:11-13).

Grass shooting forth out of the ground is a picture of birth, as well as resurrection seen above.  It is linked to the Word (tablets of the testimony) and is a reminder that only those born again in Messiah will have eternal life.  Those who are born of the flesh and not of the Spirit will perish (John 3:3; Mark 16:16).

Isa 40:6  A voice said, Cry! And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all its grace as the flower of the field!
Isa 40:7  The grass withers, the flower fades because the Spirit of YHWH blows on it. Surely
the people is grass.
Isa 40:8  The grass withers; the flower fades; but
the Word of our God shall rise forever.

1Pe 1:23  being regenerated, not by corruptible seed, but incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and remaining forever.
1Pe 1:24  Because “all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of men as the flower of grass; the grass was dried, and its flower fell out,
1Pe 1:25  but the Word of the Lord remains forever.” And this is the Word announced as gospel to you.
Isaiah 40:6-8

Psa 92:7  When the wicked flourish like grass, and all the evildoers blossom, it is for them to be destroyed forever.
Psa 92:8  But You, O YHWH, are exalted forever.

Green food

Gen 1:30  And to every beast of the earth, and to all birds of the heavens, and to every creeper on the earth which has in it a living soul, every

This word comes from the root:

Here it is seen that this word is associated with vanity or something that is only temporary.

Isa 40:6  A voice said, Cry! And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all its grace as the flower of the field!
Isa 40:7  The grass withers, the flower fades because the Spirit of YHWH blows on it. Surely
the people is grass.
Isa 40:8
The grass withers; the flower fades; but the Word of our God shall rise forever.

Vanity of vanities

The book of Ecclesiastes goes into great detail explaining the ‘vanity’ of life.  In Solomon’s search for wisdom he comes to the final conclusion:

Ecc 12:13  Let us hear the conclusion* of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments; for this applies (Heb. ‘kol’- completion) to every man.

*The word translated here as conclusion comes from the following Hebrew word.

Below, the connection between the number 3, Moses and the word agam will link with this meaning of conclusion/completion and the reeds that grow in the pools/ponds.

The word ‘soph’ is the edge of a pond or body of water, or a shore…

The Sand

The waters separating and the dry land appearing is best seen on the seashores.

Job 38:5  Who has set its dimensions, for you know? Or who has stretched a line on it?
Job 38:6  On what were its bases sunk? Or who cast its cornerstone,
Job 38:7  when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Job 38:8  Or
who shut up the sea with doors, when it burst out; it came forth from the womb?
Job 38:9  When I made the clouds to clothe it, and darkness its navel-band;
Job 38:10  and
I broke My limit on it and set bars and doors;
Job 38:11  and I said, You shall come to here, but no further; and here your proud waves shall be set?

Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

Hitherto: Thus far shall thy flux and reflux extend. The tides are marvellously limited and regulated, not only by the lunar and solar attraction, but by the quantum of time required to remove any part of the earth’s surface, by its rotation round its axis, from under the immediate attractive influence of the sun and moon. Hence the attraction of the sun and moon, and the gravitation of the sea to its own centre, which prevent too great a flux on the one hand, and too great reflux on the other, are some of those bars and doors by which its proud waves are stayed, and prevented from coming farther. Psa_65:6-7, Psa_93:3-4; Pro_8:29; Mar_4:39-41

Pro 8:29  when He gave to the sea its limit, that the waters should not pass beyond His command; when He decreed the foundations of the earth,
Pro 8:30  then I was at His side, like a master workman; and I was His delights day by day, rejoicing before Him at every time;
Pro 8:31  rejoicing in the world, His earth; and my delight was with the sons of men.
Psa 104:5  He founded the earth on its foundations; it shall not be shaken forever and ever.
Psa 104:6  You have covered the deep as with a robe; the waters stood above the mountains.
Psa 104:7  From Your rebuke, they flee; from the sound of Your thunder, they hurry away.
Psa 104:8  They go up the mountains; they go down the valleys to the place which You founded for them.
Psa 104:9  You have set a boundary that they may not pass over; they shall not return to cover the earth.
Jer 5:22  Do you not fear Me, declares YHWH? Will you not tremble before My face, that I have placed the sand as the limit for the sea by an eternal decree, so that it cannot cross over it? And though they toss themselves, yet they cannot prevail; though its waves roar, yet they cannot cross over it.

Booming Sands

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/sciencenow/3204/04.html

There are about 30 locations around the world that are described as ‘booming dunes’ due to the sound that the sand emits.  It sounds like a sustained musical note.  For a dune to ‘boom’ it must be at least 150 feet high; there must be loose, dry sand of similar particle size at the top and a hard layer below.  The sounds recorded fall into the musical range of either E, F or G.

On a spiritual level this is very interesting.  Sand in the Scriptures is a shadow picture of the Body of Messiah.

The Seed shall be as the sand

Gen 22:17  that blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the shore of the sea. And your Seed shall possess the gate of His enemies.

As it is written in Galatians 3:16, the Seed is the Messiah.  Those who are in Him are counted as the seed (Romans 9:8), those who are born again through Him (1Peter 1:23; 1 John 3:9; James 1:18; 21;).  Those who are born again in His image.  Genesis 1:11 says that the tree will produce fruit ‘according to His kind, whose seed is in Himself.’

Back to the ‘booming sands’

The sand must be loose so that the wind can move it…

Joh 3:5  Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, If one is not generated out of water and Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6  That having been generated out of the flesh is flesh, and that having been generated out of the Spirit is spirit.
Joh 3:7  Do not wonder because I said to you, You must be generated from above.
Joh 3:8  The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice; but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone having been generated from the Spirit.

It must be similar size/maturity/image.

Gal 4:19  My children, for whom I again travail until Christ should be formed to you,

Rom 8:29  because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated (Aramaic – marked) to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.
Rom 8:30  But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Rom 13:14  But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not make forethought of the flesh, for its lusts.

Col 3:10  and having put on the new, having been renewed in full knowledge according to the image of the One creating him,
Col 3:11  where there is no Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythian, slave or freeman, but Christ is all things and in all.

Moving together to form a single sound

Baptism is a picture of being born again, into the body of Messiah (1 Corinthians 12:13; Colossians 3:11; Galatians 3:27-28).  Interestingly the word for unison traces back to ‘son’ the root of sound

If one takes Two violins that are tuned the same (in harmony) and one plucks the string of one violin, the other violin’s string will vibrate and produce same sound.

Joh 10:16  And I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must also lead those, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock, one Shepherd.

Is it just coincidence that ‘consonant’ comes from the same root ‘son’ in English?  Could it also be coincidence that the Hebrew alphabet is made up of all consonants?  This same Hebrew alphabet that makes up the Word.  The Word that became flesh and dwelt among us. Is this why Zephaniah prophesied that the clear lip of Hebrew would be returned to us (Zephaniah 3:9)?

Rom 15:6  that with one accord and with one mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

What does the English word accord trace back to?   Accordare (Italian) “to attune an instrument” and Latin. accordare “make agree,” lit. “be of one heart.  Again a reference to being born again or circumcision of the heart.  How is the heart circumcised?  Through the Word (Hebrew 4:12; Luke 24:31-32; Acts 2:37; Jeremiah 32:39-40).  It is through this circumcision/entering of the Word that Light comes forth (Psalm 119:130), just as ‘Light’ came forth from the womb of Miriam.  The Spirit hovering over the waters connects to the Spirit hovering over the womb of the Virgin Mary which led to her giving birth to the Messiah, the Light of the world.  His body, the ‘manchild’ is born in the same manner as seen in Revelation 12.  Revelation 12 shows the birth of Messiah and the birth of His Body/Bride/Manchild/Zion.  Zion is a people (Isaiah 51:16), Zion is a land (Psalm 48).  A city on a hill bringing forth the Light (Matthew 5:14).  The earth came forth from the waters on day 3, Messiah was resurrected on the 3rd day (Matthew 12:40), His people are raised up on the 3rd day (Hosea 6:3).  The earth comes out of the water with 7 land masses, Jerusalem is a land with 7 mountains (1 Enoch 17:6-8).  His body, pictured by the Menorah has 7 branches, the Messiah was anointed with the 7 Spirits of God (Revelation 5:6; Isaiah 11:1-3).

Circumcision is linked with baptism and being ‘born again’ in the number 8 as well.  Circumcision was performed on the 8th day (Leviticus 12:3).  The Leper (the walking dead) was cleansed on the 8th day (Leviticus 14:10).  Shemini Atzeret (the last great day) was on the 8th day of Sukkot (Numbers 29:35) It is a picture of the new heavens and earth.  It was on this day that the water drawing ceremonies were performed which Messiah applied to Himself in John chapter 7:37-39.  This portion of Scripture links Messiah with the Living waters, which Jeremiah described as the ‘miqvah’ of Yisrael.

Jer 17:13  O YHWH, the Hope (miqvah) of Israel, all who forsake You shall be ashamed. Those who depart from Me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken YHWH, the Fountain of living waters.

The Hebrew word circumcision comes from:

מולcomes from the root:

Or it could be said ConSONants brought together to form Words.  Each of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet have different meanings since Hebrew is a pictographic language.  Different parts come together to form the Word.  Just as different parts of the Tabernacle, which had different functions came together to become ONE (Exodus 36:13).

1Co 12:12  For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
1Co 12:13  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1Co 12:14  For the body is not one member, but many.

Sand & Resurrection

There are about 30 locations around the world that are described as ‘booming dunes’ due to the sound that the sand emits.  It sounds like a sustained musical note.  For a dune to ‘boom’ it must be at least 150 feet high; there must be loose, dry sand of similar particle size at the top and a hard layer below.  The sounds recorded fall into the musical range of either E, F or G.

Interestingly, the frequency of the shofar is 376hz which is slightly higher than an F# note.  The color green, according to Isaac Newton was also in this F frequency range.

The Voice of the Messiah is likened to the shofar.

Rev 1:10  I came to be in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Rev 1:11  saying, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last; also, What you see, write in a scroll, and send to the seven assemblies of Asia: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

It is His Voice that resurrects the dead

Joh 5:25  Truly, truly, I say to you that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the ones hearing will live.
Joh 5:28  Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear His voice.
Joh 5:29  And they will come out, the ones having done good into a resurrection of life; and the ones having practiced evil into a resurrection of judgment.

1Th 4:16  Because the Lord Himself shall come down from Heaven with a commanding shout of an archangel’s voice, and with God’s trumpet. And the dead in Christ will rise again first.
Mat 24:31  And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens to their ends.
1Co 15:52  In a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet; for a trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed.

As mentioned above, it is the voice of the Shepherd (qol) that gathers us together as one.

The word for sand in Hebrew, ‘chol’, also points to birth & resurrection.

Among the numerous meanings of this word, one means to ‘calve’, or give birth.  Amazingly, this is mentioned in Scripture as a result of hearing the Voice (qol) of YHWH.

Psa 29:9  The voice of YHWH causes the does to calve (chul); and He uncovers the forests. And in His temple it all is saying, Glory!

This word for sand (chol), is also translated as dance and is a reference to the regathering of Yisrael…

Jer 31:13  Then the virgin shall rejoice in the dance, both young men and elders together. For I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

This happens when the great shofar is blown (Isaiah 18:3; 27:13).

Sand – belly connection

Isa 48:19  And your seed would have been like the sand (chol), and your offspring of your bowels (me’eh) like its grain (me’ah); his name would not have been cut off nor destroyed from My presence.

Phoenix – Sand connection

Job 29:18  Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply days like the sand (chol).
Job 29:19  My root was open to the waters, and the dew lay all night on my branch.
Job 29:20  My glory was fresh with me, and my bow was renewed in my hand.

JPS (Jewish Publication Society)
Job 29:18  Then I said: ‘I shall die with my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the phoenix;

The Phoenix is a mythological bird that was used as a symbol of resurrection in ancient times.  Clement & Tertullian spoke of this connection and Clement even applied it as a picture of Messiah.

LXX (Septuagint)
Job 29:18  And I said, My age shall continue as the stem of a palm tree*; I shall live a long while.

Thayer Definition:
1) a palm tree, date palm

Interestingly, the Sabbath (Kingdom) Psalm (Psalm 92) speaks of the righteous as palm trees

Psa 92:12  The righteous shall flourish as the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Psa 92:13  Those planted in the house of YHWH, in the courts of our God, shall flourish.
Psa 92:14  They shall bear fruit in old age; they shall be fat and fresh,
Psa 92:15  to declare that YHWH is upright, my Rock! And in Him is no evil.

Sand & Zion

The word Zion, in Hebrew comes from the Hebrew word for desert.

From the root:

Zion & the Olive Tree

GRAFTING (SCION)
What is the definition of scion(pronounced Zion)
Scion
SCION. [See Cion.]
Cion
CION, n. A young shoot, twig or sprout of a tree, or plant, or rather the cutting of a twig, intended for ingrafting on another stock; also, the shoot or slip inserted in a stock for propagation.

Isa 51:16  And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

Isa 8:16  Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
Isa 8:17  And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
Isa 8:18  Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs
(H226 Ot flag, beacon, monument) and for wonders(H4159 mopheth conspicuousness, miracle, sign, wonder) in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

The Signs/waymarks are the children of Messiah.  His people.  This is  seen in the vision of Revelation 12.

Rev 12:1  And a great sign was seen in the heavens, a woman having been clothed with the sun, and the moon was underneath her feet; and on her head a crown of twelve stars;

The Olive tree points to the resurrection/born again experience

Rom 11:15  For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? (Eze 37; Zec 12:10; Mic 5:3)

Down by the Riverside

Psa 42:1  To the chief musician. A Contemplation for the sons of Korah. As the deer pants after the channels of water, so my soul pants after You, O God.
The word for deer is ‘ayal’ which is from the same root as the linden tree mentioned above.

The word water brooks in Hebrew means a riverbank.

It is the origin of the Hebrew word ‘peek’.  An adopted root is ‘baqash’ and paqar which means to seek.  Psalm 42:2 connects the deer panting for the waters at the riverside to man seeking the face of God.

Psa 42:2  My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; when shall I come and see the face of God?

פק, riverside is the root of the word for seek

Psa 27:8  My heart said to You, Seek my face; Your face, O YHWH, I will seek.

This is another link to resurrection (Psalm 17:15) as man could not behold the face of the Almighty without dying (Exodus 33:20).

Baptism occurred at the riverside.  Notice the connections to the current study.

Mat 3:4  And John himself had his clothing from hairs of a camel, and a belt of leather about his loin. And his food was locusts and wild honey.
Mat 3:5  Then Jerusalem and all Judea went out to him, and all the neighborhood of the Jordan,
Mat 3:6  and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.
Mat 3:7  But seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them,
Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Mat 3:8  Therefore,
bring forth fruits worthy of repentance.
Mat 3:9  And do not think to say within yourselves, We have a father, Abraham. For I say to you that
God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
Mat 3:10
But already the axe is even laid at the root of the trees; therefore, any tree not bringing forth good fruit is cut off and is thrown into fire.
Mat 3:11  I indeed baptize you in water to repentance; but He who is coming after me is stronger than me, of whom I am not able to lift The sandals.
He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,
Mat 3:12  whose fan is in His hand, and He will cleanse His floor and will gather His wheat into the storehouse. But He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

The most common word used in Hebrew for river is ‘nahor’ which comes from the root ‘ner’ which is the same root as the Menorah.

Another word for river is ‘yar’ which is the root of the word Torah

This gives deeper meaning to the following verse.

Eph 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave Himself up on its behalf,
Eph 5:26  that He might sanctify it, cleansing it by the washing of the water in the Word,
Eph 5:27  that He might present it to Himself as the glorious assembly, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such things, but that it be holy and without blemish.

John the Baptist came baptising (resurrection) and preaching the ‘Elijah message‘ which ultimately is the message of the bride becoming mature.  This is the theme seen in the number 3 (3rd day), resurrection and completion.

Mud

The dividing of water and dirt and it’s connection to the resurrection is also seen in mud.

Deliverance is linked to being pulled up out of the mire.

Psa 40:2  And He drew me up from the pit of tumult, out of the miry clay; He lifted my feet on a rock; He directed my steps.

Interestingly, one of the Hebrew words for fine linen (Revelation 19:8, 14) comes from this root

And to further link the mud with birth/resurrection, the Hebrew word for egg also comes from בץ

The dry land of seen in Genesis 1:10 is related

Dry land  ‘yebash’, comes from the following root:

This word is linked with procreation…

3rd Day

The number 3 denotes completeness, as three lines complete a plane figure. Hence, three is significant of Divine perfection and completeness. The third day completes the fundamentals of creation—work. The fourth, fifth, and sixth days are the counterpart and repetition of the first, second, and third, and correspond respectively.

The Hebrew word for three is shalosh which comes from the root shel which is the root of the word shalom, which means completeness.

The number, three, includes resurrection also; for on the third day the earth rose up out of the deep, and fruit rose up out of the earth.

Number in Scripture – E.W. Bullinger pg 111-112

“THE FIRST OCCURRENCE

of the number is in Genesis 1:13. “The third day” was the day on which the earth was caused to rise up out of the water, symbolical of that resurrection life which we have in Christ, and in which alone we can worship, or serve, or do any “good works.”

Hence three is a number of RESURRECTION, for it was on the third day that Jesus rose again from the dead. This was Divine in operation, and Divine in its prophetic foreshowing in the person of Jonah (Matt 12:39,40; Luke 11:29; Jonah 1:17). It was the third day on which Jesus was “perfected” (Luke 13:32). It was at the third hour He was crucified; and it was for three hours (from the 6th to the 9th) that darkness shrouded the Divine Sufferer and Redeemer. The “loud voice” at the end of those twice three hours, when, “about the ninth hour,” He cried, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me” (Matt 27:46), shows completely that nothing of nature, nothing of the light or intelligence of this world, could give help in that hour of darkness. Does not this show us our impotence in the matter? Does it not prove our incapacity to aid in delivering ourselves from our natural condition?

With the light at the ninth hour came the Divine declaration, “It is finished.” So divinely finished, completed, and perfected, that now there is no such darkness for those who have died with Christ. Light, uninterrupted light, shines upon all who are risen with Him; uninterrupted sunshine–even “the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” That three hours’ darkness, therefore, testifies to our complete ruin, and our complete salvation, and shows that His people are “complete in Him.”

While we are speaking of the Divine perfections of Christ, let us note the many marks and seals of this completeness.

“The Spirit, the water, and the blood,” are the divinely perfect witness to the grace of God on earth (1 John 5:7).

The three years of His seeking fruit testifies to the completeness of Israel’s failure (Luke 13:7).

His three-fold “it is written” shows that the Word of God is the perfection of all ministry (Matt 4).

The Divine testimony concerning Him was complete in the threefold voice from Heaven (Matt 3:17, 17:5; John 12:28).

He raised three persons from the dead.

The inscriptions on the Cross in three languages show the completeness of His rejection by Man.

The perfection of His offices are shown in His being Prophet, Priest, and King, raised up from among His brethren (Deut 177:15, 18:3-5, and 18:15).

The Divine completeness of the Shepherd’s care (John 6:39), is seen in His revelations as–

  • The “Good Shepherd” in death, John 10:14.
  • The “Great Shepherd” in resurrection, Hebrews 13:20.
  • The “Chief Shepherd” in glory, 1 Peter 4:5.

His three appearings in Hebrews 9 show that His work will not be divinely perfect and complete until He appears again.

  1. He “hath appeared” in the end of the age to “put away sin,” and to “bear the sins of many” (Hebrews 9:26,28).
  2. “Now to appear in the presence of God for us,” He has ascended into Heaven (v 24).
  3. He “shall appear” again part from all question of sin for those who look for Him (v 28).”

The Sign of the Messiah

1Co 15:4  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The number 3 is linked with resurrection all throughout the TaNaKH. This is even spoken of in ancient Jewish writings such as Bereshit Rabba where it mentions Genesis 22:4 (3rd day Isaac was to be sacrificed); Genesis 42:18 (3rd day of the tribes in Egypt) ; Joshua 2:16 (3rd day of the spies); Exodus 19:16 (3rd day the 10 commandments were given); Jonah 1:17 (3 days in the belly of the great fish); Ezra 8:15 (3rd day those who came up out of captivity); Hosea 6:2 (3rd day of the resurrection from the dead) & Esther 5:1 (3rd day Esther appears before the king).

3 & completion

Number in Scripture pg 107

” In this number we have quite a new set of phenomena. We come to the first geometrical figure. Two straight lines cannot possibly enclose any space, or form a plane figure; neither can two plan surfaces form a solid. Three lines are necessary to form a plan figure; and three dimensions of length, breadth, and height, are necessary to form a solid. Hence three is the symbol of the cube–the simplest form of solid figure. As two is the symbol of the square, or plane contents (x2), so three is the symbol of the cube, or solid contents (x3).

Three, therefore, stands for that which is solid, real, substantial, complete, and entire.

All things that are specially complete are stamped with this number three.

God’s attributes are three: omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence.

There are three great divisions completing time–past, present, and future.

Three persons, in grammar, express and include all the relationships of mankind.

Thought, word, and deed, complete the sum of human capability.

Three degrees of comparison complete our knowledge of qualities.

The simplest proposition requires three things to complete it; viz., the subject, the predicate, and the copula.

Three propositions are necessary to complete the simplest form of argument–the major premiss, the minor, and the conclusion.

Three kingdoms embrace our ideas of matter–mineral, vegetable, and animal.

When we turn to the Scriptures, this completion becomes Divine, and marks Divine completeness or perfection.

Three is the first of four perfect numbers (see p. 23).

  • Three denotes divine perfection;
  • Seven denotes spiritual perfection;
  • Ten denotes ordinal perfection; and
  • Twelve denotes governmental perfection.

Hence the number three points us to what is real, essential, perfect, substantial, complete, and Divine. There is nothing real in man or of man. Everything “under the sun” and apart from God is “vanity.” “Every man at his best estate is altogether vanity” (Psa 139:5,11, 62:9, 144:4; Eccl 1:2,4, 2:11,17,26, 3:19, 4:4, 11:8, 12:8; Rom 8:20).

Three is the number associated with the Godhead, for there are “three persons in one God.” Three times the Seraphim cry, “Holy, Holy, Holy”–one for each of the three persons in the Trinity (Isa 6:3). The living creatures also in Revelation 4:8.

Three times is the blessing given in Numbers 6:23, 24:–

  • “The LORD bless thee and keep thee (the Father);
  • The LORD make His face shine upon thee; and be gracious unto thee (the Son);
  • The LORD lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace” (the Holy Spirit).

Each of these three blessings is two-fold, so that there are two members in each, while the name Jehovah occurs three times. This marks the blessing as Divine in its source. No merit drew it forth; grace was its origin and peace was its result.

In Genesis 18:2, the same three persons appear to Abraham. Abraham “looked, and, lo, THREE men stood by him.” But verse 1 declares that it was “Jehovah appeared unto him.” It is remarkable that Abraham addresses them both as one and as three. We read first that “they said,” then “he said,” and finally, in verses 13 and 17, 20, etc., “And the LORD said.” The whole narrative, which begins with the appearance of the LORD, ends (v 33), “And the LORD went His way.”

As we have in the number one the sovereignty of the one God; and in two the second person, the Son, the great Deliverer; so in “three” we have the third person, the Holy Spirit, marking and completing “the fulness of the Godhead.” This word “fulness” is remarkable, occurring only three times, and in connection with the Three Persons of the Trinity:

  • Ephesians 3:19, “The fulness of God.
  • Ephesians 4:13, “The fulness of Christ.”
  • Colossians 2:9, “The fulness of the Godhead.”

The “fulness” was manifested visibly in Christ, and is communicated by the Holy Spirit, for it is a fulness of which we receive by His mighty power (John 1:16).”

Gimmel

The connection between the number 3 and completion is further seen in the Hebrew letter gimel (ג).

The Hebrew letter gimel originally was pronounced as gam.

Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible pg 22

This links back to baptism, as seen above, as the meaning of collecting at the waters.

To further illustrate this, the word ‘agam’, which comes from the root ‘gam’ is translated as pool in English, just as miqveh is

Amazingly, the account of Moshe being drawn out of the waters after being hidden for 3 months is linked to this word.

Exo 2:3  And she was not able to hide him any longer, and she took a basket for him made of papyrus (Hebrew ‘gome’ גמא), and she daubed it with bitumen and with pitch. And she put the child in it, and placed it in the reeds by the lip of the Nile.

The Hebrew letter gimmel/gam is a pictograph of a foot but also represents a camel.

The Holy Scriptures link the camel to the gathering of the waters:

Gen 24:11  And he made the camels kneel* outside the city, by a well of water at the time of the evening, the time that women go out to draw.

*In Hebrew this word is barakh which connects with the word gamal/miqveh through the English word ‘pool.’  The word pool is translated from 3 different Hebrew words.  Agam, miqveh, and berakah.

This word comes from the root:

Notice that the parent root of this word is בר, bar.  This is the word for Son (Psalm 2:12).  It is also the root for the word for soap.

Washing of the body, as well as washing of the clothing points to Messiah.  At Mt. Sinai, Yisrael was to was their clothing and be ready for the 3rd day when they would meet YHWH.  Interestingly, the human body was designed to bathe with soap every 2-3 days.

The word above, ‘bar’, is translated as son in Psalm 2:12; Proverbs 31:2 & Daniel 3:25, and is used in reference to the Word in Psalm 19:8.  The link here is clear.  The need for the body & our clothing to bathe in water and soap is a picture of man needing to be covered in the garments of the Word/Jesus .

Psa 24:3  Who shall go up into the hill of YHWH? And who shall rise in His holy place?
Psa 24:4  He who has
clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to vanity and has not sworn deceit.
Psa 24:5  He shall lift up
the blessing (berakhah) from YHWH, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

What is the blessing (berakah)?

Psa 133:3  like the dew of Hermon coming down on the mountains of Zion; for there YHWH commanded the blessing: life till everlasting.

Act 3:25  You are sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God appointed our fathers, saying to Abraham, “Even in your Seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Gen. 22:18
Act 3:26  Having raised up His child Jesus, God sent Him first to you, blessing you in turning away each one from your iniquities.

This blessing is seen in the natural realm, as described in the book of Hebrews, pointing back to the 3rd day of creation

Heb 6:7  (For the earth drinking in the rain often coming upon it, and producing vegetation suitable for those for whom it is also worked, receives blessing from God;
Heb 6:8  “but bearing thorns and thistles,” it is deemed unfit and near a curse, of which the end is for burning.)
Gen. 3:17, 18

Being clothed with His righteousness is linked with the earth springing forth plants

Isa 61:10  Rejoicing I will rejoice in YHWH. My soul shall be joyful in my God. For He clothed me with garments of salvation; He put on me the robe of righteousness, even as a bridegroom dons as a priest his head-dress, and as a bride wears her ornaments.
Isa 61:11  For as the earth comes out with her buds, and as a garden causes that which is sown to grow, so the Lord YHWH will make righteousness and praise to grow before all the nations.

Back to the letter gimmel…

The letter gimmel points to completion, just as the number 3 through does.

Psa 57:2  I will cry to God Most High, to God who works

Psa 138:8  YHWH will

This concept of working to perfection through YHWH’s Word/Image being formed in us is seen further in:

2Ti 3:16  All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
2Ti 3:17  so that the man of God may be perfected, being fully furnished for every good work.

The Wisdom in the Hebrew Alphabet pg 71

“The גימל gimmel, is cognate to גמל gamol, which means to nourish until completely ripe, as in ויגמל שקדים, it produced mature almonds (Numbers 17:23).  Of Isaac, the Torah states: The child grew, ויגמל, and was weaned (Genesis 21:8); there gamol refers to the development of an infant to the point that it can live without it’s mother’s nursing.”

It is interesting to note that in the book of Maccabees the period of time that the mother nursed the child was 3 years.

2Ma 7:27  But she bowing herself toward him, laughing the cruel tyrant to scorn, spake in her country language on this manner; O my son, have pity upon me that bare thee nine months in my womb, and gave thee such three years, and nourished thee, and brought thee up unto this age, and endured the troubles of education.

This concept of maturity being linked with being weaned is further seen in the book of Hebrews

Heb 5:12  For indeed because of the time you are due to be teachers, yet you need to have someone to teach you again the rudiments of the beginning of the Words of God, and you came to be having need of milk, and not of solid food;
Heb 5:13  for everyone partaking of milk is without experience in the Word of Righteousness, for he is an infant.
Heb 5:14  But
solid food is for those full grown, having exercised the faculties through habit, for distinction of both good and bad.

Heb 6:1  Because of this, having left the discourse of the beginning of Christ, let us be borne on to full growth, not laying down again a foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Heb 6:2  of baptisms, of doctrine, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of dead ones, and of eternal judgment.
Heb 6:3  And this we will do, if indeed God permits.
Heb 6:4  For it is impossible for those once having been enlightened, and having tasted of the heavenly gift, and becoming sharers of the Holy Spirit,
Heb 6:5  and tasting the good Word of God, and the works of power of a coming age,
Heb 6:6  and having fallen away, it is impossible for them again to renew to repentance, crucifying again for themselves the Son of God, and putting Him to open shame.

Notice that Paul links this concept of maturity with the springing forth of plants and fruit

To further show this connection, the word for ‘complete/mature’ is

The Hebrew word for food comes from this same root:

On the 3rd day the plants, trees and fruit appeared which became food for man.

Gen 1:30  And to every beast of the earth, and to all birds of the heavens, and to every creeper on the earth which has in it a living soul, every green plant is for food. And it was so.

Gen 2:9  And out of the ground YHWH God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food. The Tree of Life was also in the middle of the garden; also the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

It is interesting that when Isaac was weaned (found mature) there was then a feast (Genesis 21:8).  If Isaac was 3 years old, that would connect to the birth of the ‘manchild’ of Revelation 12 & Isaiah 66:7-8, who partakes of the Wedding Supper 3 1/2 years after.  Isaac is further linked to the manchild through Psalm 126.  When the captivity is ended, our mouths will be full of laughter (sechoq – same root as Yitschaq), Sarah’s barren womb is a picture of Zion (Isaiah 49:13-23; 54:1-3; 66:7-11).  It is believed that Isaac was born at Pesach which would link to the ‘manchild’ in Revelation 12 who flees to the wilderness for 3 1/2 years.  Subtracting 3 1/2 years from the Fall Feasts which are a picture of Messiah’s return, brings one to the time of Pesach.

The word for bride comes from the same root, כל:

It was on the 3rd day that the bride appeared before YHWH at Mt. Sinai

Exo 19:10  And YHWH said to Moses, Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow. And let them wash their clothes.
Exo 19:11  And be ready* for the third day. For on the third day YHWH will go down before the eyes of all the people on the mountain of Sinai.

*The Hebrew word here is ‘kun’ which means to stand, firm.  It comes from the following root word in Hebrew:

‘Kun’ also points to the Messiah as seen in Psalm 80

Psa 80:14  O God of Hosts, we beg You, return! Look down from Heaven and see and visit this vine,
Psa 80:15  and the vineyard

***In the Hebrew text this word has an enlarged kaf which represents the palm of the hand.

The palm of the hand points to the Word.

The human hand has 27 bones: the carpus or wrist account for 8; the metacarpals or palm contains five; the remaining fourteen are digital bones; fingers and thumb.  The 27 bones of the hand correspond to the 27 books of the New Testament.  The human arm consists of the humerus, ulna and radius representing the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings (TaNaKH).

Exo 19:12  And you shall set limits to the people all around, saying, Be careful for yourselves, not going up into the mountain and touching its border; everyone touching the mountain dying shall die.
Exo 19:13  Not a hand shall touch him, but stoning he shall be stoned, or piercing he shall be shot through. He shall not live, whether animal or man. At the sounding of the ram’s horn*, they shall go up into the mountain.

*The word in Hebrew here is ‘yovel,’ speaking of the ‘Jubilee’ where the great shofar is sounded and the dead are raisedclick here.
Exo 19:14  And Moses went from the mountain to the people. And he sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes.
Exo 19:15  And he said to the people, Be ready for the third day. Do not approach a woman.
Exo 19:16  And on the third day, it being morning, it happened: There were thunders and lightnings, and a heavy cloud on the mountain, and the sound of a ram’s horn, very strong! And all the people in the camp trembled.
Exo 19:17  And Moses caused the people to go up from the camp to meet God. And they took their stand at the lower part of the mountain.

Going back to the concept of eating/ food and completion, it is interesting to note that the process of photosynthesis is a picture of the perfecting/maturing process.  Plants use carbon dioxide and water, mixed with the energy from light to produce food and oxygen.

Six molecules of water plus six molecules of carbon dioxide produce one molecule of sugar plus six molecules of oxygen.

Light (Word/Jesus) is added to carbon which represents the flesh as carbon has the atomic number of 6, the number of flesh/man.  Water is added which represents the Word/Spirit.  This combination of mortal man receiving the waters of the Spirit/Word mixed with faith in Messiah Jesus brings forth food/energy/sugar and oxygen which represents resurrection/being born again as oxygen has the atomic number of 8 which is the number of rebirth/resurrection/eternity.  Another interpretation of photosynthesis can be applied to the washing of the body/clothes as seen above.  Our bodies produce sweat which is water that is odorless.  It is the mixture of bacteria that produces the stink of body odor.  Man must wash his clothes and body with soap (bar – Son) or ‘receive the Light’.  This takes away the ‘stink’/ carbon and produces the sweet smelling odor of the saved who are in the Image of Messiah who is represented by the sweet smell of myrrh, aloes and cassia (Psalm 45:8; Song of Songs 1:3; Ephesians 5:2Smell of His Garments)

Interestingly, the organelle of the plant cell whose main function is in the photosynthesis process is the chloroplast which is divided into 12.

Hos 6:2  After two days He will bring us to life. In the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live before Him.
Hos 6:3  Then we shall know, we who follow on to know YHWH. His going forth is established as the dawn*. And He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain to the earth.

*Here is another link between the resurrection and photosynthesis.  At dawn, the sun arises and shines forth it’s light upon the plants of the field whose leaves are covered with the morning dew.  The word is likened unto dew (Deuteronomy 32:2; Proverbs 19:12; Hosea 14:5).  The sunlight reacts with the dew and carbon to produce Oxygen/life/resurrection.

Isa 26:19  Your dead ones shall live, my dead body, they shall rise up. Awake and sing, dust dwellers; for the dew of lights is your dew; and the earth shall cast out departed spirits.
Eph 5:14  Because of this, He says, Arise, sleeping ones and stand up out of the dead ones, and Christ will shine on you.

Mark 5:35-43 further expounds this link through the resurrection of the young girl by Messiah.

Mar 5:41  And taking hold of the child’s hand,

The word above ‘talitha’ comes from the Hebrew root ‘tal,’ which is the same root as dew.

G5008 ταλιθά talitha tal-ee-thah’
Of Chaldee origin (
compare [H2924]); the fresh, that is, young girl; talitha (O maiden): – talitha

H2924 טלה ṭâleh taw-leh’
By variation for H2922; a lamb: – lamb.
H2922
טלא ṭelâ’ tel-aw’
Apparently from H2921 in the (original) sense of covering (for protection); a lamb (compare H2924): – lamb
H2922 only used once in the bible, speaking of the regathering

Isa 40:11  He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather lambs with His arm; and carry them in His bosom; those with young He will lead; …..The ultimate fulfillment of this prophecy is at the resurrection of the dead when He will gather His people from the 4 corners of the earth (Matthew 24:31; Isaiah 11:12; Jeremiah 49:36).  As seen above in the section on measuring the earth, Messiah is seen in measuring the 4 corners of the earth.  Interestingly, the next verse in Isaiah 40 speaks of He who measures as He who gathers…
Isa 40:12  He who has measured in His hand the waters and the heavens by a span meted out; and enclosed in the measure the dust of the earth, and weighed

Amazingly, the concept of the 4 corners and dew is further seen in that the word for dew in Hebrew, ‘tal,’ is the same root of the word ‘Tallit.’  On the four corners of the tallit are tsitsit/tassels.

The Torah tells us that the tzitzith are to be on the four corners:

Devarim (Deuteronomy) 22:12 Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four corners of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest [thyself].

What is interesting is that the Hebrew word for corners, (kanfot), is the same Hebrew word translated as wings in:

Shemot (Exodus) 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and [how] I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.

Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

Grabbing the tzitzit of Messiah’s garment completes us/perfects us.  The four corners of the earth/four corners of His garment…

The above word is spelled exactly the same as tekhelet/tzitzit with the addition of a yod.  The letter yod represents the hand, so it can be seen that the hand grabbing the tzitzit of His garment brings perfection/completion.  This connects again to the cross.  On the cross, the last words of Messiah were ‘it is finished’.  In Hebrew, the word for finished/complete is also the same as the word for bride.  Where does the bride dwell?  Under the shadow of the wings of her husband (Ruth 3:9).

Zec 8:23  So says YHWH of Hosts: In those days ten men out of all languages of the nations shall take hold, and will seize the skirt of a man, a Jew, saying, Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.

As mentioned above, the blossoming of the rod of Aharon is linked to the number 3 and resurrection.  This further links tsitsit to the resurrection.

Num 17:8  And it happened on the next day, Moses went into the tabernacle of the testimony, and, behold! The rod of Aaron for the house of Levi had budded (parach), and put forth buds (perach), and bloomed (tsuts) blossoms (tsits), and bore ripe (gamal) almonds.

The word parach above, is a picture of a chick bursting out of the egg or the flower bursting out of the bud, this is used in reference to the righteous who ‘flourish’ or parach like a palm tree in Psalm 92:12-13.

Tsitsit are twisted threads which comes from the Hebrew word ‘gadol’ which is also translated as ‘great,’ as in Deuteronomy 5:22 speaking of the great voice of YHWH that spoke during the giving of the 10 commandments.  Again the link to resurrection.

Tsitsit are further connected to the number 3 in that they also teach of completion/maturity via the beard.  In Ezekiel 8:3, YHWH takes Ezekiel by a ‘lock’ of his hair.  The word lock here is tsitsit.  The word for beard is zakan which is the same Hebrew word for elder/ancient or one who is mature.  Leviticus 19:27 further links the beard with the tsitsit in that man is commanded to to destroy the corners of his beard.

According to its Kind

Gen 1:11  And God said, Let the earth sprout tender sprouts, the plant seeding seed, the fruit tree producing fruit according to its kind, whichever seed is in it on the earth. And it was so.

The word for ‘number/tell’ comes from this root.

Gen 13:16  And I will make your seed as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can count

Interestingly, when Abraham was told to ‘count’ the stars in relation to his Seed, another Hebrew word was used.

Gen 15:5  And He brought him outside and said, Look now at the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to count them. And He said to him, So shall your seed be.

The word used was saphar which comes from the root

This links the stars in the heaven which are likened to the Messiah & His body (the seed) with the sand on the seashore which are also likened to the Seed.  Amazingly, it is estimated that the amount of stars in the heavens is equal to the number of grains of sand on the earth. (10 to the 22nd power)

Gen 22:17  that blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the shore of the sea. And your Seed shall possess the gate of His enemies.

The word, temunah, which means likeness/image in Hebrew comes from this same root.  Yisrael is those who are born again and will be resurrected into the Image and likeness of Messiah Jesus .

The word for seashore is

Psa 1:1  Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of scorners.
Psa 1:2  But his

Trees bearing fruit by the edges of the water are further linked by the Hebrew word for fruit.

The Hebrew word for fruit is

Notice the two-edged sword is linked with the mouth

Heb 4:12  For the Word of God is living, and powerfully working, and sharper than every two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge of the thoughts and

The word for mouth is also translated as commandment.

Pro 8:29  when He gave to the sea its limit, that the waters should not pass beyond His

Yisrael moved according to His commandment/mouth

Num 9:23  By the mouth

In Psalm 1, mentioned above, the man who meditates on the Torah day and night brings forth much fruit.  The word for meditate in Psalm 1 means to mutter, or constantly speak.

1Pe 4:11  If anyone speaks, let it be as the words of God; if anyone ministers, as by strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom is the glory and the might to the ages of the ages. Amen.

Eph 4:29  Let not any filthy word go out of your mouth, but if any is good to building up (leading to maturity/completion) in respect to the need, that it may give grace to the ones hearing.

James chapter 3 links this concept of speaking the words of Torah and bearing fruit with taming the tongue and then links it with the fruit from above.  That which is born from above has the seed of the Word within them.  That one should be speaking the Words of Torah, Words of light, truth & love.  In James 3 the other seed is seen.  The mixed seed.  Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.  Hence, we can bear the fruit of the tree of Life, the Messiah.  We can be numbered as the sand of Yisrael.  Or we can bear the fruit of the antichrist, the tree of knowledge of good and evil.  We can be numbered as the sand from whence the beast arises.

Col 3:17  And whatsoever ye do in word {(peh – mouth) or deed (yod – hand)…word and deed = fruit}, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks

Mat 12:33  Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by the fruit.
Mat 12:34  Offspring of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Isa 51:7  Hear Me, those knowing righteousness, the people of My Law in their heart; do not fear the reproach of man, and do not be bowed from their blasphemings.

Psa 119:172  My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.

Psa 71:15  My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation (yeshua) all the day; for I do not know the numbers.

Psa 71:16  I will come in the strength of the Lord YHWH; I will speak of Your righteousness, of Yours alone.

Jer 23:5  Behold, the days come, says YHWH, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and act wisely, and He shall do justice and righteousness in the earth.
Jer 23:6  In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely. And this is His name by which He shall be called,
YHWH our Righteousness.

His body is clothed in garments of righteousness

Isa 61:10  I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation (yeshua), he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Rom 13:14  But
put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Gal 3:27  For
as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Fruit of the Spirit

Eph 5:9  For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.

Php 1:9  And this I pray, that your love may yet abound more and more in full knowledge and all perception,
Php 1:10  for you to distinguish the things that differ, that you may be sincere and without blame for the day of Christ,
Php 1:11  being filled with
fruits of righteousness through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Isa 60:21  And your people shall all be righteous; they shall possess the earth forever, a branch of My planting, a work of My hands, to beautify Myself.

Isa 45:24  He shall say, Only in YHWH do I have righteousness (tsedeqah) and strength; to Him he comes; and they are ashamed, all who are angry with Him.
Isa 45:25  In YHWH all of the seed of Israel shall be justified (tsadaq), and shall glory. (Romans 14:11; Philippians 2:10)

Washed & Justified

1Co 6:11  And some of you were these things, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

In His Image

Rom 8:29  because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.
Rom 8:30  But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and
whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Isa 61:3  to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty {pe’er from the word par (fruit)} instead of ashes {aphar – ash from the word par (fruit)}, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of the spirit of infirmity, so that one calls them trees of righteousness, the planting of YHWH, in order to beautify (pa’ar) Himself.

Fruit, soil, ash…

Gen 18:27  And Abraham answered and said, Behold, I pray, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord, and I am dust

The Seed

Gen 1:11  And God said, Let the earth sprout tender sprouts, the plant seeding seed, the fruit tree producing fruit according to its kind, whichever seed is in it on the earth. And it was so.

In Hebrew it is written “His kind, whose seed is in Himself”

The Scriptures speak of 2 seeds that produce 2 trees since the beginning.  The tree of life which leads to life or the tree of knowledge which leads to death.  Torah vs religion.  Messiah vs antichrist.  Wheat vs tares.  The Holy Spirit vs the spirit of falsehood.  The children of obedience vs the children of disobedience.  Light vs darkness etc…

Both righteous and wicked are resurrected, just some plants spring forth and produce good fruit, while other plants produce rotten fruit that can’t be eaten.

The green plants that are eaten are called

עשׂב
‛eśeb

Which can be used in a good sense as in Genesis 1:30 or in a bad sense as seen in Psalm 92:7-8 speaking of the workers of iniquity.  This represents the Israel of God who produces the good fruit, versus the false Israel (Esau – which linked to the above word eseb) who produces rotten fruit.

Above it was shown that hair/beards are linked to the resurrection through the word tsitsit.  Interestingly, the word for hair in Hebrew is se’ar which once again shows this concept of wheat vs tares.  Se’ir comes from this root and is translated as both goat or demon/devils.  The Tabernacle of YHWH was covered in goat’s hair.  The counterfeit is a false temple which is in the image of a demon/devil which links to the false god Pan and Mt. Hermon where the false Zion was located.

We must choose the garments of righteousness and salvation that are only found in Messiah Jesus (Jeremiah 23:6; Isaiah 45:22-25; Isaiah 61:10; Romans 13:14click here) or we can choose to have our own righteousness that is nothing but filthy rags.

Isa 64:6  But we are all as the unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as a menstruation cloth. And we all fade as a leaf, and like the wind our iniquities take us away.

On the outside these filthy garments may look righteous, but YHWH knows the hypocrisy of the matter.

Mat 23:28  So you also indeed outwardly appear righteous to men, but within are full of hypocrisy (hupokrisis) and lawlessness.

Mat 15:7  Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
Mat 15:8  This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Mat 15:9  But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mat 15:12  Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
Mat 15:13  But he answered and said,
Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

Trees

The Hebrew word for tree is:

Isa 9:6  For a Child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful,

The same word for counselor is the same word for spine

The 33 bones in the human spine correspond to the 33 years of the life of Messiah.  The link between the back and Messiah is further seen in Exodus 33 where Moses is shown the glory of YHWH, specifically mentioning His back.

Exo 33:22  And as My glory is passing it will be that I will put you in a cleft of the rock; and I will cover My hand over you during My passing.
Exo 33:23  And I will remove My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face cannot be seen.

Trees – Books

The English word book comes from the Old English ‘boc’ which derives from the Germanic root ‘bok’ which is a cognate of beech. Beech was a common writing material in Germanic societies before the development of paper.

A single sheet within a book is called a leaf.  Each side of the leaf is called a page.

A folio has similar meaning

Papyrus, a thick paper-like  material made by weaving the stems of the papyrus plant, then pounding the woven sheet with a hammer-like tool.

As seen above, Exodus 2:2 speaks of the papyrus basket/ark that Moshe was placed in at the Nile…

Parchment, papyrus connection –  hammering out…

Interestingly, the word for parchment is used in the New Testament (2 Timothy 4:13) as a translation of the Greek word membrane.

Whitaker’s Latin Dictionary

Membrana, Membranae
N – 1 1 – F –

membrane; skin; parchment;

Thin skin, film membrane.  The skin of a snake or the skin prepared to write on a parchment like a scroll.

As seen in previous studiesclick hereclick here , the heavens were hammered out and likened to a scroll.  Recent scientific theories liken the universe to a membrane as well.  It is believed that our bodies are being held together by a membrane known as laminin as well.

Papyrus sheets were glued together to form a scroll. Tree bark such as lime (Latin liber).

Lime is an altered form of Middle English lind, in the 16th century also line, from Old English feminine lind or linde, Proto-Germanic *lendā, cognate to Latin lentus “flexible” and Sanskrit latā “liana”. Within Germanic languages, English lithe, German lind “lenient, yielding” are from the same root.

Linden was originally the adjective, “made from lime-wood” (equivalent to “wooden”), from the late 16th century “linden” was also used as a noun, probably influenced by translations of German romance, as an adoption of Linden, the plural of German Linde.[1] Neither the name nor the tree is related to the citrus fruit called “lime” (Citrus aurantifolia, family Rutaceae).

The Linden tree in Scripture.  The following passage of Scripture is speaking of the remnant of Yisrael, the olive tree who are in the image and likeness of Messiah.

King James Version

Isa 6:13  But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree (elah), and as an oak (allon), whose substance (matstsebeth) is in them, when they cast (shalakh – from shel mentioned above) their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance (matstsebeth – pillar, rootBethel)thereof.

Keil & Delitszch commentary

It shall happen as with the terebinth and oak. These trees were selected as illustrations, not only because they were so near akin to evergreens, and produced a similar impression, or because there were so many associations connected with them in the olden times of Israel’s history; but also because they formed such fitting symbols of Israel, on account of their peculiar facility for springing up again from the root (like the beech and nut, for example), even when they had been completely felled. As the forms yabbesheth (dryness), dalleketh (fever), ‛avvereth (blindness), shachepheth (consumption), are used to denote certain qualities or states, and those for the most part faulty ones (Concord. p. 1350); so shalleceth here does not refer to the act itself of felling or casting away, but rather to the condition of a tree that has been hewn or thrown down; though not to the condition of the trunk as it lies prostrate upon the ground, but to that of the root, which is still left in the earth. Of this tree, that had been deprived of its trunk and crown, there was still a mazzebeth kindred form of mazzebâh), i.e., a root-stump (truncus) fast in the ground. The tree was not yet entirely destroyed; the root-stump could shoot out and put forth branches again. And this would take place: the root-stump of the oak or terebinth, which was a symbol of Israel, was “a holy seed.” The root-stump was the remnant that had survived the judgment, and this remnant would become a seed, out of which a new Israel would spring up after the old had been destroyed (Matthew 3:10). Thus in a few weighty words is the way sketched out, which God would henceforth take with His people. The passage contains an outline of the history of Israel to the end of time. Israel as a nation was indestructible, by virtue of the promise of God; but the mass of the people were doomed to destruction through the judicial sentence of God, and only a remnant, which would be converted, would perpetuate the nationality of Israel, and inherit the glorious future. This law of a blessing sunk in the depths of the curse actually inflicted, still prevails in the history of the Jews. The way of salvation is open to all. Individuals find it, and give us a presentiment of what might be and is to be; but the great mass are hopelessly lost, and only when they have been swept away will a holy seed, saved by the covenant-keeping God, grow up into a new and holy Israel, which, according to Isa_27:6, will fill the earth with its fruits, or, as the apostle expresses it in Rom_11:12, become “the riches of the Gentiles.”

Literal Version

Isa 6:13  But yet a tenth shall be in it, and it shall return and be consumed like the terebinth and like the oak that in being felled yet has its stump (the holy seed is its stump).

Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

teil tree: The teil-tree is the linden or lime-tree, a species very common in Palestine; the leaf of which resembles that of the laurel, and its flower that of the olive. But the original ailah which our translators render the oak (but here distinguished from allon the oak)

The word for teil tree/linden tree in Hebrew is ‘elah’ which comes from the root ‘el’ which is commonly translated as God.

The Scrolls were held together by lime/linden trees.  This is seen in creation as well.  It is Messiah who is holding all things together (Colossians 1:17).  The Greek word used in Colossians 1:17 is sunistemi which translates back to the Hebrew word tseba.  Tseba comes from the same root as matstsebah mentioned above, the House of El.

Col 1:17  And He is before all things, and all things have subsisted (G4921 συνέστηκε) in Him.

His Word is holding all things together.  Interestingly, one of the Hebrew words for ‘word’ is amar.  What is the meaning of amar?  Thoughts that are

Liber
In Latin Liber means a book, bark of a tree, treatise, letter
from Latin, in original sense: tree bark]

Liber is also a rare name for phloem

Phloem
A tissue in vascular plants that conducts food from the leaves and other photosynthetic tissues to other plant parts.

In vascular plants, phloem is the living tissue that carries organic nutrients (known as photosynthate), particularly sucrose, a sugar, to all parts of the plant where needed. In trees, the phloem is the innermost layer of the bark, hence the name, derived from the Greek word φλόος (phloos) “bark”. The phloem is concerned mainly with the transport of soluble organic material made during photosynthesis. This is called translocation.

Interestingly, when looking at the cross section of a tree from the the tilia genus (such as the linden tree mentioned above), it is seen that it is divided into 7 sections…just like the Menorah

Interestingly, flax has this same division.

The word in Hebrew for flax links to the menorah as well.  Flax was made into linen which then became wicks for lamps (menorot).  Connecting flax to the current topic further, the root word for linden comes from ‘li’ which in the Indo-European language means flax.  This would make *len (linden) an extension of the flax root meaning ‘flexible as threads made of flax,’ then of rope or cord made of other materials, like the inner bark of the linden.

the Menorah = the Word = the Tree of Life = the Olive Tree = the Body of Messiah…

Click picture for more details on how the Scriptures are in the form of a Menorah…

It is interesting to note as well, that the natural ecology of forests is divided into 7 sections.

1. The canopy
2. Low tree layer (dwarf fruit trees)
3. Shrubs
4. Herbaceous
5. Rhizosphere (root crops)
6. Soil surface (cover crops)
7. Vertical layer (climbers, vines)

The more diverse and complex an ecosystem is, the more stable it is.

Rom 12:4  For even as we have many members in one body, but all members do not have the same function,
Rom 12:5  so we the many are one body in Christ, and each one members of one another,

Back to the word Liber…

Interestingly, If one looks at Latin versions of the TaNaKH, one will see that the 5 books of the Torah are headed with only their names.  Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numeri, Deuteronicum.
The books that follow always have the prefix of Liber, Liber Jehoshua, Liber Judicum etc.

The Torah is the root and the other books are the branches that carry the ‘food’.  Messiah is the vine/root, His body are the branches…  Food in Hebrew is lechem (bread).

Bread in Greek is artos which is used to translate numerous words in Hebrew.  Lechem, dagan (grain/fish ie believers), challah (from root chol…sand ie believers), and also ‘pat’.

Isa 8:18  Behold, I and the children (Messiah & His Body) whom YHWH has given to me are for signs and wonders (mophat) in Israel from YHWH of Hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion.

Amazingly, the Latin word liber also means children…

liber
N      2 3 M P

children (pl.); (sg. VOC) child.

Going back to the link between Liber & bread, the Scriptures liken the Word/Torah to bread (Deuteronomy 8:2-3; Matthew 4:2-4; John 6:30-63).    Messiah equates the manna/bread from heaven with Himself in John 6.  Manna is also referred to as dew in the TaNaKH (Exodus 16:13-14; Numbers 11:9, Torah is likened to dew (Deuteronomy 32:2), YHWH is likened to dew (Hosea 14:5).

Deu 8:3  And He has humbled you, and caused you to hunger, and caused you to eat the manna, which you had not known, and your fathers had not known, in order to cause you to know that man shall not live by bread alone, but man shall live by every Word that proceeds* from the mouth of YHWH.

The word for proceed in Hebrew is ‘motsa’ which means to spring forth or bud.

The word Bible comes from papyrus…

The Greek word for papyrus as writing material (biblion) and book (biblos) come from the Phoenician port town Byblos, through which papyrus was exported to Greece.

From Greek we also derive the word tome (Greek: τόμος), which originally meant a slice or piece and from there began to denote “a roll of papyrus”. Tomus was used by the Latins with exactly the same meaning as volumen which means a roll/scroll.

The volume of the Scroll is written about Messiah

Psa 40:7  Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

‘Tome’ is the root of the word anatomy

In the same passage of Scripture mentioned above in reference to Messiah, it speaks of the body being given to Him.

Heb 10:5  For this reason, coming into the world, He says, “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but You prepared a body for Me.

Part of Speech: noun feminine
A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: from G2776

In Hebrew this word is ‘megillah’ which is also related to the ‘head’.  The word golgolet (Golgotha/skull) comes from this same root in Hebrew meaning round. The word ‘megillah’ is related to the Hebrew word ‘galgal’ (circle) which has the gematria of 66, referring back to the 66 books of the Word.

The word for ‘chapter’, also means a ‘head’ from the Latin capitulum.

Traditionally, Torah scrolls were treated like living beings.  They were clothed and when they wore out they were buried.  The armor worn by a man (specifically speaking of Messiah) as mentioned in Isaiah 59:13; Ephesians 6:11 corresponds with the clothing of a Torah Scroll. The Armor of Elohim is linked with baptism in Messiah Armor of Elohim

The word in Greek for armor is ‘panoplia’ which is used to translate the Hebrew word ‘chalatz’ in the Septuagint

Going back to the word anatomy, as seen above it used to be a synonymous word with ‘skeleton.’

Notice that the word skeleton traces back to the meaning of ‘dried up.’  This links to the current study through the word for ‘dry land’ (yabesh).  Interestingly, the body of Messiah is likened to dry bones העצמות היבשׁות in Ezekiel 37 which is resurrected and brought back to the land of Israel.

The word for bone in Hebrew comes from the word עץ meaning a tree…it is no coincidence that Ezekiel 37 speaks of bones in reference to the resurrected body of Messiah and then speaks of 2 trees becoming one in reference to His body.

There are 206 bones in the human skeleton.  Here are a few times that the gematria of 206 is seen in the Scriptures.  Notice the connections to the current study.

The etymology of the word codex comes from a block of wood.

In the 5th century, Isidore of Seville explained the relation between codex, book and scroll in his Etymologiae (VI.13): “A codex is composed of many books; a book is of one scroll. It is called codex by way of metaphor from the trunks (codex) of trees or vines, as if it were a wooden stock, because it contains in itself a multitude of books, as it were of branches.”

The word for letter above is the Greek word Epistole (Epistle) which comes from the Hebrew word

Interestingly, the word for ink in 2 Corinthians 3 is from the Greek word melan

G3188
μέλαν
melan
Thayer Definition:
1) ink
Part of Speech: noun neuter
A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: from G3189 as noun

This is the root word for ‘melanin’, that which is found in the skin which brings forth the various colors.  To further link to the current study, the word melas (G3189) comes from the Proto-Indo-European root ‘mel’ which means dirty/soiled.

Who is the one that writes on the hearts of the living epistles with the ink of the Spirit?  Messiah, who is putting the Mark of YHWH on the foreheads of the righteous.  Notice here that the man with the inkhorn is one among 7…

Eze 9:2  And, behold, six men were coming from the way of the Upper Gate, which faces north. And each had his shattering weapon in his hand. And one man among them was clothed in linen, and an ink horn of a scribe at his loins. And they went in and stood beside the bronze altar.
Eze 9:3  And the glory of the God of Israel had gone on, from on the cherub where it was on it, to the threshold of the house. And He called to the man clothed in linen with the ink horn of a scribe at his loins.
Eze 9:4  And YHWH said to him, Pass through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and mark a mark on the foreheads of the men who are groaning and are mourning over all the abominations that are done in her midst.

Here we see an inkhorn instead of a sword.  This links with the armor of God mentioned above as the Word is the Sword of the Spirit. (Ephesians 6:17; Hebrew 4:12)

Fruit

Psa 1:1  Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of scorners.
Psa 1:2  But his delight is only in the Law of YHWH, and he meditates in His Law day and night.
Psa 1:3  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivulets of waters, which will give its fruit in its seasons, and its leaf will not wither, and all which he does will prosper.

Jer 17:7  Blessed is the man who trusts* in YHWH, and YHWH is his refuge**.
Jer 17:8  For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters. It sends out its roots by the stream, and it will not fear when the heat comes; but its foliage will be green; and it is not anxious in the year of drought, nor will it cease from yielding fruit.

*The word for trust here means to cling to another

Interestingly, this is the root for the word for melon

The fruit that clings to the vine…

Joh 15:1  I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser.
Joh 15:2  Every branch in Me not bearing fruit, He takes it away; and each one bearing fruit, He prunes, so that it may bear more fruit.
Joh 15:3  You are already pruned because of the Word which I have spoken to you.
Joh 15:4  Remain in Me, and I in you. As the branch is not able to bear fruit of itself, unless it remain in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me.
Joh 15:5  I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one abiding in Me, and I in him, this one bears much fruit, because apart from Me you are not able to execute, nothing.
Joh 15:6  Unless one remains in Me, he is cast out as the branch and is dried up; and they gather and throw them into a fire, and they are burned.
Joh 15:7  If you remain in Me, and My Words remain in you, whatever you desire you will ask, and it shall happen to you.
Joh 15:8  In this My Father is glorified, that you should bear much fruit; and you will be disciples to Me.

The word for vine (grapevine) in Hebrew means to bend around a pole.

Amazingly, the Hebrew word for Father has the meaning of a pole

The root of the word for vine, gephen, is ‘kaph’ meaning palm.  This word links to the current study on numerous levels.  It is the Hebrew word for palm, which is used in disciple and chastisement (כח) to lead a child to maturity.  It is also used in the prophecy by Isaiah speaking of the cleansing of our garments.

Isa 1:18  Come now and let us reason (יכח) together, says YHWH: Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as the crimson, they shall be like wool.

כפה means the branch of a palm tree, mentioned above in connection to the resurrection.  This word is used in reference to the palm branches used to build one’s sukkah during the Feast of Sukkot (Leviticus 23:40).  כפה  also means to tame an animal which points back to the concept of maturity/completeness in the word כל, mentioned above.  כפה also has the meaning of bending the will towards another…submitting to the will/desire (ratzon) of the Most High.

As seen above, submitting to His will is a part of growing in patience and hope.

**The word for refuge in above passage in Jeremiah 17 (hope in the KJV) comes from the same Hebrew root as the above word for trust.  The word for patience in Greek is ‘hupomone’ which is used in the LXX to translate the Hebrew word miqveh.  Miqveh is also translated as hope.

Hope

It should come as no surprise that when studying the word Hope as found in the Scriptures it would connect on numerous levels to the current study, specifically resurrection in Messiah Jesus .

1Pe 1:19  but with precious blood of Christ, as a lamb without blemish and without spot,
1Pe 1:20  indeed having been foreknown before the foundation of the world, but revealed in the last times because of you,

1Pe 1:24  Because “all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of men as the flower of grass; the grass was dried, and its flower fell out,

Resurrected sons of God, in the Image of Messiah Jesus

1Jn 3:2  Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we shall be. But we know that if He is revealed, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.
1Jn 3:3  And everyone having this hope on Him purifies himself even as that One is pure.

This is when we shall be in unity

Eph 4:4  There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5  one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6  one God and Father of all, the One above all and through all and in you all.
Eph 4:7  But to each one of us was given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Eph 4:8  Because of this, He says, “Having gone up on high, He led captivity captive,” and gave “gifts to men.”
Psa. 68:18
Eph 4:9  But that He went up, what is it except that He also first came down into the lower parts of the earth?
Eph 4:10  He that came down is the same who also went up above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.
Eph 4:11  And indeed He gave some to be apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12  with a view to the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ,
Eph 4:13  until we all may come to the unity of the faith and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
Eph 4:14  so that we may no longer be infants, being blown and carried about by every wind of doctrine, in the sleight of men, in craftiness to the deceit of error,
Eph 4:15  but speaking the truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, the Christ,
Eph 4:16  from whom all the body, having been fitted and compacted together through every assisting bond, according to the effectual working of one measure in each part, produces the growth of the body to the building up of itself in love.

Our inheritance

Eph 1:16  I also do not cease giving thanks on your behalf, making mention of you in my prayers,
Eph 1:17  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the full knowledge of Him,
Eph 1:18  the eyes of your mind having been enlightened, for you to know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
Eph 1:19  and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us, the ones believing according to the working of His mighty strength
Eph 1:20  which He worked in Christ in raising Him from the dead; yea, He seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies, Psa. 110:1
Eph 1:21  far above all rule, and authority, and power, and lordship, and every name having been named, not only in this age, but also in the coming age;
Eph 1:22  and He “put all things under His feet” and gave Him to be Head over all things to the assembly,
Psa. 8:6
Eph 1:23  which is His body: the fullness of the One filling all things in all;

Rom 8:20  For the creation was not willingly subjected to vanity, but through Him subjecting it, on hope;
Rom 8:21  that also the creation will be freed from the slavery of corruption to the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
Rom 8:22  For we know that all the creation groans together and travails together until now.
Rom 8:23  And not only so, but also we ourselves having the firstfruit of the Spirit, also we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly expecting adoption, the redemption of our body;
Rom 8:28  But we know that to the ones loving God all things work together for good, to those being called according to purpose;
Rom 8:36  Even as it has been written, “For Your sake we are killed all the day; we are counted as sheep of slaughter.” Psa.
