Daily Tidbits 10/27 – Theodore Roosevelt

On this date, 10/27/1858, Theodore Roosevelt was born. In the Presidents Code, Roosevelt’s Presidency pictures the Patriarch Joseph. The Presidents Code is a parable based upon the name meanings of the U.S. Presidents. Their name meanings tell the story of the Biblical text, from the beginning of creation unto the days of Christ. Based upon the premise of this code, it is seen that the very characters of the Presidents, from their personal characters to the events that occurred during their Presidencies reveal in parable form the exact same events of the Biblical narrative of which their name meanings describe. In other words, the history of the United States is displaying a giant parable of the Word of God.

President Theodore Roosevelt
Republican 9/14/1901-3/4/1909

With the death of William McKinley in September of 1901, the newly elected Vice President Theodore Roosevelt became the 26th President of the United States. Roosevelt heard of the news while on a camping trip on Mount Marcy in the Adirondacks. Roosevelt was told that McKinley had been shot but apparently recovered, then took a sudden turn for the worse and died.

The 1904 Election saw Theodore Roosevelt win by the largest landslide in the popular vote up to that time in U.S. History over Alton Parker. On election night Roosevelt promised not to run again which would turn out to be one of the greatest disappointments of his life and play a significant role in the next two Presidential elections.

McKinley’s assassination was a display of Joseph being put into a pit and then sold into Egypt (Genesis 37:18-36). Joseph ā€œsurvivedā€ this pit, only to be wrongly imprisoned due to the false accusations of Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39:7-20). Roosevelt’s ascendancy to the Presidency is a portrayal of this time period in Joseph’s life.

Roosevelt hearing the news of McKinley’s death on Mount Marcy is significant as well. Marcy traces back to the names Mars and Mark. Mars was the god of war and conflict. Roosevelt rose to national fame through his leadership of the Rough Riders during the Spanish-American War. This corresponds with Joseph’s ā€œwarā€ with his brothers which led to him being sold into Egypt. The name Mark means ā€œa defenseā€.

Roosevelt’s name meaning is speaking of Joseph, sent into Egypt to preserve life.

Theodore comes from the Greek name Ī˜ĪµĪæĪ“Ļ‰ĻĪæĻ‚ ā€˜Theodoros’ which means gift of God. θεος ā€˜theos’ means god and Γωρον ā€˜doron’ means gift. This gift of God is speaking of Joseph, who would be sent to Egypt to save the lives of many (Genesis 50:20).

Roosevelt means a rose field. This pointing to the land of Goshen as the Nile delta is likened unto a rose. Goshen would be the safe haven that Israel would dwell in during the world wide famine which occurred during Joseph’s tenure as ruler of Egypt. This also points to the ā€˜rose’ of Sharon, who is Christ (Song of Songs 2:1-4). Joseph’s life is an incredible picture of the life of Messiah, who is THE gift of God (John 3:16).

Joseph had a barren mother (Genesis 29:31; Luke 1:27), he was a shepherd (Genesis 37:2; John 10:11), sent by his father (Genesis 37:13; Mark 12:1-11) to observe the state of affairs of his people but was hated by his brethren (Genesis 37:8; John 15:23-25) and rejected (Genesis 37:20; Luke 17:25). They conspired against him (Genesis 37:19; Psalm 2:1; 41:9; Matthew 26:59; 27:1; Acts 4:26-28), he was sold for silver (Genesis 37:28; Matthew 27:3-10) and threw him into a pit (Genesis 37:22; Isaiah 53:9; Matthew 27:57-60) but was not there when his brothers returned (Genesis 37:29; Matthew 28:6). His garments were torn (Genesis 37:34; Luke 23:45) and covered in blood (Genesis 37:31; Revelation 19:11-16). He was falsely accused (Genesis 39:14; Matthew 26:59) and imprisoned with two criminals (Genesis 40; Matthew 27:38) He became a stranger to them (Genesis 42:7; Psalm 69:8) while ascending to the right hand of the king (Genesis 37:3; John 6:62) and was later made known to them (Genesis 45:1; Zechariah 12:10).

The life and Presidency of Theodore Roosevelt displays numerous connections to the life of Joseph.

Roosevelt was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church and wrote that he believed true religion was service to one’s fellow man (James 1:27).

ā€œI know not how philosophers may ultimately define religion, but from Micah to James it has been defined as service to one’s fellowmen rendered by following the great rule of justice and mercy, of wisdom and righteousness.ā€

This defines the life of Roosevelt as well as the Patriarch Joseph. Both were men of wisdom (Genesis 41:38-39) and both used their wisdom to serve others (Genesis 45:5).

Roosevelt was home-schooled and an avid reader of books. It is said he read thousands of books in multiple languages. He had a photographic memory, or it could be said he saw images in his brain. This connects to Joseph who was given the gift of interpreting dreams which are ā€˜images in the brain’ (Genesis 41:15-16).

Theodore Roosevelt was the youngest President in U.S. history, taking office at the age of 42 when William McKinley was assassinated. This points to Joseph’s youth when becoming ruler of Egypt (Genesis 41:46). Roosevelt was known for his exuberant personality, incredible energy and his cowboy persona. He was the ultimate masculine figure. This displays Joseph as well who was a ā€˜goodly person and well favoured’ (Genesis 39:6). In Hebrew, ā€˜goodly person’ is יפה־תאר ā€˜yafeh to’ar’ which means of beautiful or goodly form. The word תאר ā€˜to’ar’ comes from the root word תר ā€˜tar’ which literally means the ā€˜mark of man.’ Roosevelt personified the ā€˜mark of a man’ or the epitome of masculinity.

Roosevelt began his days of civil service during Benjamin Harrisonā€˜s Presidency as an appointee of the United States Civil Service Commission. Harrison’s Presidency is associated with Joseph and the birth of Benjamin, an interesting connection here to Roosevelt whose life depicts Joseph. Later, Roosevelt became president of the board of New York City Police Commissioners in 1895. This connects to Joseph’s days in prison and his appointment as ā€˜captain’ of the prison (Genesis 39:21-23).

Roosevelt rose to national fame during the Spanish-American War when he resigned from the Department of the Navy to form the Rough Riders who were a volunteer cavalry that fought in Cuba. As mentioned in the McKinley parable, this war is intimately linked to the life of Joseph, particularly his days with his family before being sold into Egypt.

The etymology of Spain depicts the Biblical account of Genesis 37. Spain was once called ā€˜Gadir’ which comes from the Hebrew word גדר ā€˜gadar’ which means an enclosure, specifically speaking of a sheepfold (1 Samuel 24:3). The word Spain comes from the Hebrew word הפרד ā€˜sepharad’ which means ā€˜separated.’ It is through conflict between Joseph and his brothers who were tending the flock (Genesis 37:12) that Joseph became separated from his family (Genesis 49:26).

Roosevelt was nominated for the Medal of Honor for his exploits during the Battle of San Juan hill but it was later disapproved. San Juan is picturing the ā€˜camp of Yah’ of Genesis 37 as Juan comes from John meaning camp of the Lord. In Genesis 37, the sons of Israel reject Joseph. Later, Roosevelt was ā€˜posthumously’ awarded the Medal of Honor. So too, Joseph was not brought to honor until after his being thrown into a pit and later prison which are likened unto death (Genesis 45:9-13).

After Joseph was made ruler of Egypt, it was decreed that he ride in the ā€˜second chariot’ before the people where they would cry ā€˜bow the knee’ (Genesis 41:43). In Hebrew this phrase ā€˜bow the knee’ is אב×Øך ā€˜abrek’ which literally means to bow the knee and give homage. After the war, Roosevelt was called ā€˜Colonel Roosevelt’ or ā€˜The Colonel’ as a way to respect and honor him. It is also interesting to note that Roosevelt was the first President to be seen riding an automobile in public. This connects to Joseph’s appearance in public riding the ā€˜second chariot.’

Another aspect of Roosevelt’s Presidency which points to this part of the Biblical narrative is The Great White Fleet. Roosevelt sent 16 battleships, painted white, on a 14 month world tour in which they visited 20 ports on six continents displaying the naval power of the United States. He sought to promote America’s military power as well as promote goodwill.

The coat of arms of the Roosevelt family contains the motto ā€œQui plantavit curabitā€ which is the Latin for ā€œhe who planted will preserve.ā€ Theodore Roosevelt used this coat of arms for book plates in his personal library. He placed this motto on the crest of navy ships as well. This points to Joseph gathering grain during the years of plenty.

After the war, Roosevelt served as Governor of New York before becoming Vice President. This correlates to Joseph being Governor over Egypt (Genesis 42:6; 45:26). Roosevelt would then become Vice President, picturing Joseph as the ā€˜second in command’ of the land of Egypt (Genesis 41:40).

During Roosevelt’s Presidency the U.S. began to become an Empire. He is famous for ā€˜Big Stick diplomacy’ which was named after his famous quote ā€˜speak softly, and carry a big stick.’ This phrase illustrates Roosevelt’s foreign policy of negotiating peacefully with other countries while at the same time threatening with military might. It was during Roosevelt’s administration that America took up the responsibility of ā€˜policeman’ of the world. He used America’s influence and power to intervene on behalf of smaller countries to ā€˜keep them on their feet.’ The moniker ā€˜policeman of the world’ is even attributed to Roosevelt.

ā€œChronic wrongdoing, or an impotence which results in a general loosening of the ties of civilised society, may ultimately require intervention by some civilised nation, and in the western hemisphere the adherence of the United States to the Monroe Doctrine may force the United States, however reluctantly, in flagrant cases of such wrongdoing or impotence, to the exercise of an international police power.ā€

This too points back to Joseph, who Pharaoh called Zaphnath-Paaneah which is interpreted by some as ā€˜savior of the world.’ During the days of famine, all the world came to Joseph to get food (Genesis 41:57). While the rest of the world was suffering the effects of famine, Egypt had food which exalted the nation to the position of predominant world power of the day.

The issue of food further connects Roosevelt and Joseph. The Meat Inspection Act and the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906 were passed during Roosevelt’s Presidency. Both acts served to protect the people from harmful food, just as Joseph protected the people’s health by storing up grain during the years of plenty (Genesis 41:47-49).

One of the defining aspects of Roosevelt’s Presidency was the building of the Panama Canal making travel considerably easier between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The completion of the canal via ā€˜Big Stick Diplomacy’ was a significant part of the U.S. becoming a world empire. The word ā€˜Panama’ means ā€˜an abundance of fish.’ This is again a connection back to Joseph. Joseph had two sons while in Egypt, Ephraim and Manasseh (Genesis 41:50-52) who were prophesied to become a ā€˜multitude in the midst of the earth’ (Genesis 48:16). In Hebrew this phrase literally says ā€˜may they like the fishes increase into a multitude in the midst of the earth.’

Another Roosevelt – Joseph link is the Nobel Peace Prize that Roosevelt won for helping to end the Russo-Japanese War and for his work in constructing the Panama Canal. This too points to Joseph (Genesis 41:16) who brought a message of peace to Pharaoh. As the code continues it will be seen that the Presidents who received the Nobel Prize for Peace always point in some way to THE Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ.

The Nobel Prize comes from Alfred Nobel, the founder of the Nobel prizes. Alfred is of English origin and means ā€œelf counselā€ or ā€œwise counselor.ā€ Nobel is of English origin and means ā€˜noble’ or ā€˜good character.’ These names point to Christ, the Prince of Peace.

Isa 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Woodrow Wilson would be the next President to win the Nobel Peace prize. His Presidency points to Joseph as well. Jimmy Carter would win the award later whose parable points to King David, yet another amazing picture of Christ. Barack Obama was the last President to win the award whose Presidency pictures the days of Christ.

Roosevelt used the term ā€œSquare Dealā€ in a speech in 1903 but it became the moniker of his Presidency.
ā€œWe must treat each man on his worth and merits as a man. We must see that each is given a square deal, because he is entitled to no more and should receive no less.ā€

He sought fairness in balance in his dealings. Through this philosophy he signed the Pure Food and Drug Act and Meat Inspection Act of 1906. He supported the working man’s desire for an eight hour workday. He created national parks to ensure natural resources as a fair stewardship of the public square.

This ā€œSquare Dealā€ philosophy points to Joseph and his dealings with the world, in particular Egypt, during the days of the famine . Through the dreams of Pharaoh, Joseph saw the seven years of plenty and the seven years of famine to come (Genesis 49:29-42). As a result, Pharaoh appointed him the highest position of power in the land in which Joseph sought to make wise decisions to preserve life, giving a ā€œsquare dealā€ with those who would come for food during the famine. He provided them food, they exchanged their property for that food (Genesis 47:13-26).

Roosevelt also fought the monopolies, in particular John D. Rockefeller where he was given the nickname ā€œTrust Buster.ā€

Rockefeller was a strong supporter of McKinley and his Standard Oil greatly influenced McKinley’s administration. With the assassination of McKinley and Roosevelt becoming President, things greatly changed. Roosevelt began to oppose Rockefeller’s monopoly on oil. Privately, Roosevelt called Rockefeller the ā€œgreatest criminal of our time.ā€

In 1906, Roosevelt used the Sherman Anti-Trust Act against Standard Oil, the first time this act was used in a major way. By 1911, Standard Oil was ordered to be broken up. John D. Rockefeller had ā€œretiredā€ by the time Standard Oil broke up but he was still a main shareholder. As a result of the break up, Rockefeller’s investments doubled resulting in him becoming the richest man in the world.

Rockefeller’s influence moved America towards the Progressive Era which Roosevelt championed. The ideologies of both men pushed America in the same direction even though they were antagonists. The Roosevelt – Rockefeller battle seems to point to Joseph and his brothers who were enemies who later reconciled. While Roosevelt and Rockefeller never reconciled, their overall ideological views dominated America in the future.

John Rockefeller’s name points to Joseph who was ruling with Pharaoh and his reconciliation with his brothers.

John means God is gracious or camp of Yah. Davison means son of David. David means beloved. Rockefeller means rye field in an open land. His name seems to be pointing to Israel, the beloved camp of God, who went to dwell in Goshen (Genesis 46:28). Goshen was the land that Israel would dwell in in Egypt. Goshen is an Egyptian word which means land near the border, in particular a pasture or grazing land.

Rye was used to make bread and beer. Rye grows in harsh climates, signifying sustenance in tough conditions. The sons of Jacob went to Egypt seeking bread during famine (Genesis 42:1-3) and ended up drinking alcohol with Joseph before he revealed himself to them. Ancient Egyptians were well known brewers, considered the first civilization to perfect the art of brewing beer. Rye is mentioned as one of their crops in Exodus 9:32. They considered the craft of brewing beer as a gift from the gods, in particular Osiris.

The reuniting of Joseph and his brothers and their dwelling in Goshen set the stage for the days of Moses where a Pharaoh who knew not Joseph would arise to power and enslave Israel. Israel prospered in Goshen while the rest of Egypt suffered through the famine (Genesis 47:27). This points to the days of the Roaring 20s in America which was greatly influenced by John Rockefeller. Rockefeller’s oil, his funding for education and scientific research led to the advancements in the 1920s which led to great prosperity.

John D. Rockefeller’s impact on the United States is hard to elaborate upon in few words. America, and consequently the world, has been greatly affected by this man. So too, ancient Egypt during the time period of Joseph and the Pharaohs affected the ancient world, perhaps greater than any civilization.

Modern medicine (allopathy) is based upon the research of institutions founded by Rockefeller. The Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research is the institution in which modern medicine is based upon, resulting in the World Health Organization (WHO) which Rockefeller helped fund.

Roosevelt opposed Rockefeller’s monopoly on oil through the Sherman Antitrust Act which resulted in its break up. Yet, in its break up, Rockefeller became more wealthy and became a philanthropist. His business model has shaped businesses to the current time including billionaires becoming Philanthropists to affect the world according to their views.

The Council on Foreign Relations was formed by money from the Rockefeller fortune. Later, Rockefeller’s grandson David would become the director of the CFR in 1941 and then served as chairman from 1970-1985. David Rockefeller was responsible for the CFR expanding throughout the world. He would also found the Trilateral Commission in 1973. Both organizations have led the way for globalism which corresponds with Israel’s days dwelling in the land of Canaan.

Rockefeller created the Rockefeller Foundation which funded studies on public administration leading to the New Deal Policies of Franklin Roosevelt. FDR’s New Deal is the foundation of American politics to the current times. This era is known as the 5th Party System, corresponding with the Biblical era of the Old Covenant.

Rockefeller also funded educational institutions which are the bedrock of American education to the current times. Rockefeller funded environmental research as well which has resulted in American’s main stream view of the environment to current times.

Rockefeller’s monopoly on oil was broken up and through ā€œsubtleā€ means he formed charities to spread his wealth. Roosevelt said ā€œNo amount of charity in spending such fortunes in any way compensates for misconduct in making them.ā€
During the years of the famine, Pharaoh, bought up all the land and eventually the lives of his people through ā€œcharity.ā€ His ā€œmonopolistic charityā€ ended up enslaving Egypt (Genesis 47:13-26). The charities of Rockefeller were seen as benevolent and helping mankind but in reality have been used to centralize power into the hands of the ā€œelite.ā€

John D. Rockefeller’s grandson, Nelson Rockefeller, would become Vice President under Gerald Ford. In this portion of the code, he points to Goliath. Goliath was of the Nephilim, the antagonists of God in the Bible. It is believed by some, that the Egyptian Pharaohs of old were of the same lineage.

Just as the Pharaohs of old shaped the world, so too the ā€œelitesā€ have shaped the world of today. Yet, God has planted His chosen people amongst these antagonist leaders to ā€œmanipulateā€ the course of things. Joseph was sent to influence Pharaoh. Moses was sent to these same ā€œelitesā€. Later we see Daniel and Ezra sent to perform the same type of purpose. Ultimately, Christ was sent to overthrow this dominion of men.

Now would be a good time to mention how the ā€œTitans of Industryā€ during the time of the Civil War until the days of Franklin Roosevelt connect to the Pharaohs of the Bible during the lives of the Patriarchs unto the Pharaoh ā€œwho knew not Joseph.ā€ Cornelius Vanderbilt was richest man in the world, the titan, during Abraham Lincoln’s days pointing to the Patriarch Abraham. The ā€œheirā€ to his position was John D. Rockefeller pointing to the Pharaoh of Joseph’s days.

At the time of Hoover and Franklin Roosevelt, the ā€œtitansā€ of the time were Andrew Mellon and Henry Ford. Both Mellon and Ford greatly opposed both Hoover and FDR pointing to the Pharaoh who ā€œknew not Joseph.ā€

Theodore Roosevelt ran for President as a third party candidate in 1912 against his former best friend, William Howard Taft. Roosevelt ran in the Progressive Party that he formed which came to be known as the Bull Moose Party. This name was given because of a comment Roosevelt made after an assassination attempt upon him during the campaign. Roosevelt was shot during a campaign rally in Wisconsin but he didn’t seek medical attention immediately as he wasn’t coughing up blood. The assassination attempt didn’t even curtail his scheduled speech for the day. Roosevelt spoke for an hour and half, opening the speech with the following:
ā€œLadies and gentlemen, I don’t know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot; but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose.ā€

On a deeper level, this assassination attempt and the response of Roosevelt has an interesting connection to Joseph as a picture of Messiah. A moose is a type of elk, which in Hebrew is איל ā€˜ayal’ meaning a ā€˜strong one’ or ā€˜strong authority.’ איל ā€˜ayal’ comes from the root אל ā€˜el’ which is usually translated as God, as God in ancient Hebrew thought is the strong authority that leads. Here is a picture of the ā€˜death and resurrection’ of the Son of God pictured in Joseph’s ā€˜resurrection’ from the pit that he was placed in (Genesis 37:22; Isaiah 53:9; Matthew 27:57-60), as well as his coming forth out of prison to be exalted to the right hand of Pharaoh (Genesis 41:14, 40-44).
