Calvin Coolidge was born on 7/4/1872. In the Presidents Code, Coolidge’s Presidency displayed the time period of Israel in Goshen. The Presidents Code is a parable based upon the name meanings of the U.S. Presidents. Their name meanings tell the story of the Biblical text, from the beginning of creation unto the days of Christ. Based upon the premise of this code, it is seen that the very characters of the Presidents, from their personal characters to the events that occurred during their Presidencies reveal in parable form the exact same events of the Biblical narrative of which their name meanings describe. In other words, the history of the United States is displaying a giant parable of the Word of God.

President Calvin Coolidge
Republican 8/2/1923-3/4/1929
On August 2nd 1923, President Warren Harding died from a heart attack which made Calvin Coolidge the 30th President of the United States. Coolidge ran for re-election in 1924 and won in a landslide similar to 1920. During his Presidency, the economy boomed which led to this time period being called the “Roaring Twenties.”
Calvin Coolidge’s name meaning is speaking of the camp of Yah, Israel, going down into Egypt during the days of famine where they would dwell amongst, but separate from the nation of Egypt.
His full name was John Calvin Coolidge.
John means the grace or camp of Yah. By the Lord’s grace, He brought down His camp into the land of Egypt (Genesis 46:1-5).
Calvin comes from the French name ‘Chauvin’ which derives from ‘chauve’ meaning bald. The Hebrew word for bald, ריק ‘riyq’ also means bare. This is speaking of the famine and the barrenness of the land and is used in particular in reference to the thin cows of Pharaoh’s dream (Genesis 41:19, 20, 27).
Coolidge is from an Old English word ‘coll’ meaning a rocky ridge or escarpment. This is speaking of a division of land. Here we see a picture of Israel finding grace from the Lord in the midst of famine or barrenness, dwelling in Egypt in the land of Goshen which was separated from the Egyptians (Genesis 46:34).

Calvin Coolidge was President during a time of economic prosperity, called the ‘Roaring Twenties.’ This corresponds with the days of Israel in Egypt until the days of the Pharaoh who ‘knew not Joseph.’
Exodus 1:7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.
The fact that the decade was known as the ‘Roaring Twenties’ is significant as well. The Hebrew word for roar is הם ‘ham’ which is speaking of the roaring of the seas, as well as a multitude of peoples. Here we see yet another connection to Israel multiplying and becoming mighty during their early days in Egypt.
The Roaring Twenties was also seen as a time of the culture breaking with the past as modern technology was being brought forth. Automobiles, telephones, motion pictures and electricity changed the way in which Americans had always lived. Here we see Israel dwelling in the land of Egypt with Joseph, enjoying the advancements of the Egyptians (Acts 7:22; Isaiah 19:11; Hebrews 11:25). They went from shepherding sheep to living in the most powerful, technologically advanced civilization in the world.

Calvin Coolidge was nicknamed ‘Silent Cal’ because of his quiet demeanor, rarely speaking in his private life. This aspect of Coolidge’s personality has fascinating connections with the days of Israel in Egypt during the days of Joseph. The Hebrew word for ‘quietness’ is נחה ‘nachah’ which is speaking of being at rest in a land, at peace and prosperous. This connects with Israel’s days in Egypt as well as the state of Americans during Coolidge’s Presidency.
Genesis 50:21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted {נחם ‘nacham’} them, and spake kindly unto them.
The Hebrew word for ‘comforted’ in the above verse is נחם ‘nacham’ which means to give comfort in a time of difficulty or sorrow. Here we see Israel, being ‘comforted’ during the days of worldwide famine. This also points to Coolidge’s Presidency as it followed World War I and the death of Warren Harding. The word נחם ‘nacham’ comes from the aforementioned root word נח ‘nach’ which means a state of quietness and peacefulness.
Joseph spoke kindly to his brothers, literally in the Hebrew ‘from the heart.’ The Hebrew word for heart is לב ‘lev’ which means the ‘authority inside,’ speaking of the heart or mind of man. This has an interesting connection to Coolidge as he learned of who the real authority was during his days as President. Coolidge wrote in his autobiography:
“Any man who has been placed in the White House cannot feel that it is the result of his own exertions or his own merit. Some power outside and beyond him becomes manifest through him. As he contemplates the workings of his office, he comes to realize with an increasing sense of humility that he is but an instrument in the hands of God.”
Continuing with Genesis 50:21, it is said that Joseph ‘nourished’ his brothers in Egypt during the famine. The Hebrew word for nourish is כול ‘kul’ which means to be nourished to completion. To be full. This is what we see in America during the twenty’s, a state of fullness to the point of excess.

Coolidge was known as an avid fisherman. This too connects to the days of Israel in Egypt during the days of Joseph where they multiplied exceedingly. The word in Hebrew for increase is דגה ‘dagah’ which comes from the root word דג ‘dag’ which means fish.
On his deathbed, Jacob spoke of the Promise of God that his descendants would be multiplied.
Gen 48:3 And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
Gen 48:4 And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.
Jacob blessed the sons of Joseph with this same blessing. He said they would grow into a multitude (Genesis 48:16). The word grow in Hebrew is דגה ‘dagah.’
Gen 48:16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow {דגה ‘dagah’} into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

Warren Harding died on August 2nd, 1923 while Calvin Coolidge was visiting family in Vermont. The family home did not have electricity or a telephone so a messenger had to be sent to Coolidge informing him of Harding’s passing. Coolidge said a prayer and met with reporters who witnessed his father, a justice of the peace, administer the oath of office to Coolidge. When Coolidge returned to Washington, he was sworn in again by Justice Adolph A. Hoehling Jr. to prevent any questions as to the validity of his inauguration.
This is interesting to note as Jacob blessed Joseph and his sons but had to re-iterate his blessing as Joseph misunderstood Jacob choosing the younger Ephraim over Manasseh with the firstborn blessing.
Gen 48:13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near unto him.
Gen 48:14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.
Gen 48:15 And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
Gen 48:16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
Gen 48:17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head.
Gen 48:18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
Gen 48:19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
Gen 48:20 And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
Gen 48:21 And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.

When Congress reconvened in December of 1923, Coolidge made an address to Congress establishing his Presidency. This address was the first Presidential speech to be broadcasted over the radio.
The word radio comes from the Latin word ‘radius’ meaning a “ray,” a “beam,” or a “spoke of a wheel.” Joseph rode in the second chariot of Pharaoh (Genesis 41:43) because of the Spirit of God (light) which abode on him (Genesis 41:38).

The Scopes monkey trial occurred in 1925 where Tennessee teacher John Scopes was prosecuted for teaching evolution to his students. The prosecution was led by former Presidential nominee, William Jennings Bryan. He died a few days after the trial and the decision was later overturned. This case became a national spectacle with the advent of the radio as it was the first trial broadcasted on the airwaves. Soon the entire country was inundated with news about the trial with it being dubbed the “Trial of the Century.”
William Jennings Bryan was a devout Christian who won the Democratic nomination for President in 1896, 1900 and 1908. His strong faith was ridiculed during these elections for being a zealot. Bryan was campaigning against evolution being taught in schools at the time.Bryan’s name meaning points to Jacob in the land of Canaan, in specific the time period of Joseph being sold into slavery in Egypt. In 1925, the period in the Biblical narrative is displaying the Patriarch Jacob as he dies after blessing his children.
At this point in history, the theory of evolution was becoming more and more accepted in the mainstream but the Bible, and the Biblical worldview were still being taught in schools as the dominant view in America. This trial revealed the change in the culture of the “old way” of the Bible versus the “new way” of evolution.
In 1782, Congress approved the use of the Bible in school functions. “The Congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools.” The Bible was the basis of education in the early years of the United States. The first textbook was the New England Primer which was used between 1760 and 1843 which is based entirely on the Bible. The McGuffey readers where then used from that time to 1960 when the Bible was banned from schools. The McGuffey readers went out of use in the 60’s due to its references to the Bible. {The John F. Kennedy Presidency}
The McGuffey Reader was written by William Holmes McGuffey who Abraham Lincoln called the ‘Schoolmaster of the Nation.’ McGuffey said:
“The Christian religion is the religion of our country. From it are derived our notions on the character of God, on the great moral Governor of the universe. On its doctrines are founded the peculiarities of our free institutions. From no source has the author drawn more conspicuously than from the sacred Scriptures. From all these extracts from the Bible I make no apology.”
Noah Webster, who contributed to the American educational system more than any other man, based his writings upon the Bible. In the preface to his book, History of the United States, he wrote:
“The brief exposition of the constitution of the United States, will unfold to young persons the principles of republican government; and it is the sincere desire of the writer that our citizens should early understand that the genuine source of correct republican principles is the Bible, particularly the New Testament or the Christian religion.”
In the trial, William Jennings Bryan represented defending the “old ways” of teaching the Bible to children to raise them up in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). Bryan’s death and the Scopes monkey trial is a pivotal point in the history of American education as the theory of evolution would begin being taught to Americans, eventually becoming the predominant doctrine in science. It wasn’t until the 1960s that the theory of evolution and the banning of Bible in schools would occur which lines up in the code with the idolatry that Israel committed in the wilderness (Numbers 31:6). {The John F. Kennedy Presidency}

The Theory of Evolution proposed by Charles Darwin was published in 1859 but did not gain popular acceptance until the time period of Progressivism. 1859 points back in the code to the time period of James Buchanan and the reign of Nimrod. Nimrod is seen as the “father” of polytheism or idolatry. The Patriarch Abraham left this doctrine for the Promise of God and the truth of the Word (Genesis 12:1; Isaiah 41:7-9). Here in the 1920s, the theory of evolution began to be widely spread in America, corresponding with the descendants of Abraham going to Egypt, who continued the idolatrous “religion” of Nimrod.
Going further, the word evolution traces back to the Hebrew word בלל ‘balal’ which is translated in the Bible as mingle, confound, anoint or mix. This is the root of the word בבל ‘babel,’ from whence comes Babylon, the land Abraham left to go to the promised land. The root word of בלל ‘balal’ is בל ‘bal’ which has the sense of something flowing away which leads to emptiness or nothingness. The theory of evolution points back to nothingness and a big bang but leads one away from God. The fool, in Hebrew נבל ‘naval,’ says there is no God. נבל ‘naval’ comes from the same Hebrew root word בל ‘bal.’
Psa 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Idolatry in the Hebrew has the same sense of worthlessness or nothingness. Ultimately, idolatry and the theory of evolution trace back to the Garden of Eden and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The word evolution comes from the Latin word ‘evolvere’ which literally means the “unrolling of a book.” In the beginning, its meaning was in reference to the “growth to maturity of a living thing” and wasn’t used in reference to Darwin and Lyell’s theory until the 1800s. Since then the word has come to mean the “development by natural processes to a higher state.” The serpent deceived Eve with a “higher state” saying ye shall be as gods if you eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Evolve, as mentioned before, traces back further to the Hebrew word בלל ‘balal’ which is translated in the Bible as anoint. The word messiah, or christ, means anointed. There are three words translated as anointed in the Bible. The first is משיח ‘mashiach’ which comes from the root משח ‘mashach’ which is referring to oil being smeared onto the heads of individuals who are selected as authority figures (kings & priests). The word Babel comes from the root בל ‘bal’ which is also the root for בלל ‘balal’ which means to mix, mingle, to anoint. The third word translated from Hebrew into the English word anoint is יסך ‘yasak’ which comes from the root צק ‘tsaq’ which means an image, as in molten metal poured into a mold to form a cast object.
There are two anointed ones or christs that man can choose from, just as there were two trees in the Garden to choose from. Which Messiah one chooses determines what image that person will be formed into. Which image one is formed into determines eternity. Man can be formed into the image of Jesus Christ unto eternal life, or formed into the image of the beast unto eternal damnation.

The Great Mississippi River Flood of 1927 occurred during Coolidge’s Presidency. It was the most destructive river flood in the history of the United States. In Hebrew, the word for flood is בול ‘bul’ which literally means a flowing. The root word is בל ‘bal’ which means something that flows, in particular a flowing away of things which lead to emptiness. This word was key in understanding the Scopes Monkey trial but also points to the famine of Egypt which led Israel to move to Goshen. It was through this famine that Israel would go down into Egypt and embrace their idolatrous ways (Exodus 32:1-4; Ezekiel 20:7-8). This idolatry would plague Israel throughout their history. Ezekiel chapter 20 is a good summation of this aspect of Israel’s history.
The word for river in Hebrew is נחל ‘nachal’ which also means a flood, as in the flooding of a river. The feminine form of this word is נחלה ‘nachalah’ which means to inherit as in a flowing of property from one to another.
Israel left Canaan due to the “flowing” away of food during the famine. They went to Egypt where they were promised that their inheritance would come back to them (Genesis 15:7, 14-16; 46:4).
Herbert Hoover led the relief effort and would become the next President in 1929. His Presidency points to the Pharaoh who knew not Joseph and enslaved Israel. It was because of Israel growing in multitude and power due to God’s Promise that Pharaoh sought to destroy them (Genesis 46:3; Exodus 1:7-14).
The relief response brought forth controversy as the flood disproportionately affected Black communities in the Delta. Thousands of black farmers were placed into Red Cross camps, often forced into coerced labor to repair levees while being guarded by the National Guard. The National Guard used bayonets to keep Black evacuees from fleeing the camps which engendered reports of “slavery-like” conditions.
The word negro comes from the Latin word ‘niger’ meaning black and traces back further to the Hebrew word נכר ‘nakar’ which means a stranger. Israel were strangers in a foreign land at this time in the code (Exodus 6:4; 22:21).
It is believed that the Great Mississippi River Flood of 1927 was a major contributing factor to the Stock Market Crash of 1929 during Hoover’s Presidency. The Great Depression points to the enslaving of Israel by the Pharaoh who “knew not Joseph.” This occurred because Israel were strangers in the land (Exodus 1).
Psa 105:6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
Psa 105:7 He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
Psa 105:8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
Psa 105:9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
Psa 105:10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
Psa 105:11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
Psa 105:12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
Psa 105:13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
Psa 105:14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
Psa 105:15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
Psa 105:16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
Psa 105:17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
Psa 105:18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
Psa 105:19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.
Psa 105:20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
Psa 105:21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
Psa 105:22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
Psa 105:23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
Psa 105:24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
Psa 105:25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
Psa 105:26 He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
Psa 105:27 They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.

In 1928 Coolidge supported the Kellogg-Briand Act which was signed by 15 nations who renounced war as an instrument of national policy. Israel was at peace when Joseph was ruler but a Pharaoh who knew not Joseph would rise to power to bring them into slavery. So too, Adolf Hitler would rise to bring the world back into World War. {The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidency}

Coolidge died suddenly of a heart attack on January 5th, 1933. Shortly before his death it is said he spoke to a friend saying ‘I feel I no longer fit in with these times.’ This is compelling as Coolidge’s Presidency speaks of Israel dwelling in comfort and prosperity in the land of Egypt. 1933 was the year that Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected whose Presidency is speaking of the days of the Pharaoh who knew not Joseph and the enslavement of Israel.
