Christ in the Greek Dictionary – ἀβαρής ‘abares’ – Νot Burdensome

The Greek word ἀβαρής ‘abarēs’ is used one time in Scripture in 2 Corinthians 11:9.

2Co 11:9 And being present with you and lacking, I was not a burden to anyone. The brothers coming from Macedonia completely made up for my lack. And in every way I kept myself without burden (ἀβαρής ‘abarēs’ ) to you, and I will keep myself.

Christ takes our heavy burdens, giving us His yoke which is light.
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

ἀβαρής ‘abarēs’ is a combination of ἀ which means without and βάρος ‘baros’ which means heavy. βάρος ‘baros’ is used in the Septuagint to translate the Hebrew word כבד ‘kavod’ which means heavy but also glory.

Christ is the Glory of God but left that glory to dwell among men, emptying Himself that we might be saved.
Php 2:5 For think this within you, which mind was also in Christ Jesus,
Php 2:6 who subsisting in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God,
Php 2:7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a slave, having become in the likeness of men
