Today’s random word comes from the Hebrew word מכסה ‘mikseh’ which means covering. This word is used specifically for the covering of the Tabernacle of the congregation/witness (Exodus 26:14; 35:11; 36:19; 39:34; 40:19).
The Tabernacle on earth was to be a pattern of the Tabernacle in heaven (Exodus 25:9, 40). It was to be a shadow of Messiah Jesus (Hebrews 8:5; 9:24). The Hebrew word for pattern is תבנית ‘tabniyt’ which comes form the root בן ‘ben’ which means a tent panel or son.
His body is His house/tent
1Ti 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Heb 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
As believers, we are being formed into His Image.
1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we shall be. But we know that if He is revealed, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.
Rom 8:29 because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.
Rom 8:30 But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
We shall be covered in His garments of Salvation. מכסה ‘mikseh’ means covering as mentioned before but is also translated as clothing as clothing covers the body (Isaiah 23:18).
Isa 61:10 Rejoicing I will rejoice in YHWH. My soul shall be joyful in my God. For He clothed me with garments of salvation; He put on me the robe of righteousness, even as a bridegroom dons as a priest his head-dress, and as a bride wears her ornaments.
Psa 132:9 Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness*, and let Your saints shout for joy.
Psa 132:13 YHWH has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling-place.
Psa 132:14 This is My rest till forever; I will dwell here; I have desired it.
Psa 132:16 And I will clothe her priests with salvation*; and her saints shall surely shout.
Garments of righteousness = garments of salvation (ישועה ‘yeshuah’). What is our righteousness? Messiah YHWH (Jeremiah 23:6).
How do we become covered with His garments of Salvation? Through being born again by the blood of the lamb (Revelation 7:14). In Exodus 12:4, the word מכסה ‘mikseh’ is used in reference to the counting of souls for each house to partake of the lamb, a shadow of the true.
Rom 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
