The Hebrew word for “will” and “desire” is ratson (רצון), meaning pleasure, delight, favor, and goodwill. Doing the Father’s will is not a vague concept — it is delighting in His Word and walking in obedience to it. Christ Jesus perfectly modeled this, declaring “I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart” (Psalm 40:8). This study shows that those who do the will of the Father are His true family, and that aligning our will with His leads to knowing Him, sanctification, and entering the Kingdom.
Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Luk 22:42 saying, Father, if You purpose it, take away this cup from Me; but not My will be done, but let Yours be done.
The word will comes from רצן ‘ratson.’
H7522 רצן / רצון râtsôn
pleasure, delight, favour, goodwill, acceptance, will
This comes from the root:

The Hebrew word for will/desire is messages that are written down to be passed to another.
What is the Father’s will? To keep His Torah/Word…to keep His message
Psa 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
Psa 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
What is His message?
All have sinned and come short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). There is none righteous before Him (Romans 3:10). Our only hope is in Messiah Yahshua/Jesus who paid the penalty for our sins (John 1:29; 1 John 3:5; 4:10; 1 Peter 2:24; 3:18) that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (Romans 3:22; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
Messiah delighted in the Father’s will…the Torah/Word.
Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Heb 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Paul’s desire is that we be filled with the knowledge of His will…His Torah/Word.
Col 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
His will is His Word
Mat 12:46 But while He was yet speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him.
Mat 12:47 Then one said to Him, Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to You.
Mat 12:48 But answering, He said to the one speaking to Him, Who is My mother? And who are My brothers?
Mat 12:49 And stretching out His hand to His disciples, He said, Behold, My mother and My brothers.
Mat 12:50 For whoever does the will of My Father in Heaven, that one is My brother and sister and mother.
Mar 3:31 Then His mother and brothers came. And standing outside, they sent to Him, calling Him.
Mar 3:32 And a crowd sat around Him. And they said to Him, Behold, Your mother and Your brothers seek You outside.
Mar 3:33 And He answered them, saying, Who is My mother or My brothers?
Mar 3:34 And having looked around on those sitting around Him in a circle, He said, Behold, My mother and My brothers!
Mar 3:35 For whoever does the will of God, this one is My brother, and My sister, and My mother.
Luk 8:19 And His mother and His brothers came to Him, and were not able to come up with Him through the crowd.
Luk 8:20 And it was told to Him, saying Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside wishing to see You.
Luk 8:21 And answering, He said to them, My mother and My brothers are these: the ones hearing the Word of God, and doing it.
David wished to know the Father’s will that He may be led on the narrow path to the Kingdom.
Psa 143:10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
Psa 25:4 Shew me thy ways {the way is God’s Word}, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
Psa 25:5 Lead me in thy truth {truth is God’s Word} and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Messiah teaches of this concept of walking in His paths to be lead to the land of uprightness.
Mat 7:12 Therefore, all things, whatever you desire that men should do to you, so also you should do to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Mat 7:13 Go in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are the ones entering in through it.
Mat 7:14 For narrow is the gate, and constricted is the way that leads away into life, and few are the ones finding it.
Mat 7:15 But beware of the false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inside they are plundering wolves.
Mat 7:16 From their fruits you shall know them. Do they gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
Mat 7:17 So every good tree produces good fruits, but the corrupt tree produces evil fruits.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot produce evil fruits, nor a corrupt tree produce good fruits.
Mat 7:19 Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and is thrown into fire.
Mat 7:20 Then surely from their fruits you shall know them.
Messiah then goes on to warn that only those who do His will will enter the Kingdom…why? Because they have been walking down that narrow path with Him.
Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power?
Mat 7:23 And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; “depart from Me, those working lawlessness!” Psa. 6:8
Verse 23 shows that those who are walking in lawlessness are NOT walking in His Will.
When we walk in His will we shall know Messiah.
Joh 7:15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
Joh 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

*What is patience?
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
