Musings – That’s my King


The late Dr. S.M. Lockeridge, a preacher from San Diego, California proclaimed the greatness of our God and King in this sermon in Detroit in 1976.  Full Sermon, the portion of the sermon dealing with “My King” starts at the 51 minute mark.

“My King was born King. The Bible says He’s a
Seven Way King. He’s the King of the Jews – that’s an Ethnic King. He’s the King of Israel – that’s a National King. He’s the King of righteousness. He’s the King of the ages. He’s the King of Heaven. He’s the King of glory. He’s the King of kings and He is the Lord of lords. Now that’s my King.

Well, I wonder if you know Him. Do you know Him? Don’t try to mislead me. Do you know my King? David said the Heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork.
My King is the only one of whom there are no means of measure that can define His limitless love. No far seeing telescope can bring into visibility the coastline of the shore of His supplies. No barriers can hinder Him from pouring out His blessing. He’s enduringly strong. He’s entirely sincere. He’s eternally steadfast. He’s immortally graceful.  He’s imperially powerful. He’s impartially merciful. That’s my King.

He’s God’s Son. He’s the sinner’s saviour. He’s the centrepiece of
civilization. He stands alone in Himself. He’s honest. He’s unique. He’s unparalleled. He’s unprecedented. He’s supreme. He’s pre-eminent. He’s the grandest idea in literature. He’s the highest personality in philosophy. He’s the supreme problem in higher criticism. He’s the fundamental doctrine of historic theology. He’s the carnal necessity of spiritual religion. That’s my King.

He’s the miracle of the age. He’s the superlative of everything good that you choose to call Him. He’s the only one able to supply all our needs simultaneously. He supplies strength for the weak. He’s available for the tempted and the tried. He sympathizes and He saves. He’s the Almighty God who guides and keeps all his people. He heals the sick. He cleanses the lepers. He forgives sinners. He discharged debtors. He delivers the captives. He defends the feeble. He blesses the young. He serves the unfortunate. He
regards the aged. He rewards the diligent and He beautifies the meek. That’s my King.

Do you know Him? Well, my King is a King of knowledge. He’s the wellspring of wisdom. He’s the doorway of deliverance. He’s the pathway of peace. He’s the roadway of righteousness. He’s the highway of holiness. He’s the gateway of glory. He’s the master of the mighty. He’s the captain of the conquerors. He’s the head of the heroes. He’s the leader of the legislatures. He’s the overseer of the overcomers. He’s the governor of governors. He’s the prince of princes. He’s the King of kings and He’s the Lord of lords. That’s my King.

His office is manifold. His promise is sure. His light is matchless. His goodness is limitless. His mercy is everlasting. His love never changes. His Word is enough. His grace is sufficient. His reign is righteous. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. I wish I could describe Him to you . . .but He’s indescribable. He’s indescribable. That’s my King.

He’s incomprehensible. He’s invincible. He’s irresistible. I’m coming to tell you this, that the heavens of heavens can’t contain Him, let alone some man explain Him. You can’t get Him out of your mind. You can’t get Him off of your hands. You can’t outlive Him and you can’t live without Him. The Pharisees couldn’t stand Him, but they found out they couldn’t stop Him. Pilate couldn’t find any fault in Him. The witnesses couldn’t get their testimonies to agree about Him. Herod couldn’t kill Him. Death couldn’t
handle Him and the grave couldn’t hold Him. That’s my King.

He always has been and He always will be. I’m talking about the fact that He had no predecessor and He’ll have no successor. There’s nobody before Him and there’ll be nobody after Him. You can’t impeach Him and He’s not going to resign. That’s my King! That’s my King!

Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory. Well, all the power belongs to my King. We’re around here talking about black power and white power and green power, but in the end all that matters is God’s power. Thine is the power. Yeah. And the glory. We try to get prestige and honour and glory for ourselves, but the glory is all His. Yes. Thine is the Kingdom and the power and glory, forever and ever and ever and ever. How long is that? And ever and ever and ever and ever. And when you get through with all of the ‘ever’s, then . . .Amen.”

Jesus Christ the LORD – the King of Kings and Lord of Lords

1Ti_6:15  Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
Rev_17:14  These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Rev_19:16  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Heb 1:8  but as to the Son, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom;

Heb 1:9  You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; because of this God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness beside Your fellows.” Psa. 45:6, 7


Rev 19:16  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Isa 33:22  For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.


Jer 23:5  Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and act wisely, and He shall do justice and righteousness in the earth.

Jer 23:6  In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely. And this is His name by which He shall be called, Jehovah our Righteousness.

Christ the LORD

Luk 2:11  because today a Savior, who is Christ the Lord, was born to you in the city of David. 

Luk 2:11  ὅτι ἐτέχθη ὑμῖν σήμερον σωτὴρ, ὅς ἐστι Χριστὸς Κύριος, ἐν πόλει Δαυΐδ. 

χριστος κυριος ‘Christos Kurios’ occurs in the Septuagint in Lamentations 4:20

the Targum (of Lam 4:20), in the king of Spain’s Bible, is,

“the King Messiah, who was beloved by us, as the breath of the spirit of life, which is in our nostrils.”
The Aramaic Peshitta translation of Luke 2:11 translates ‘Christ the Lord’ as מריא משיהא ‘maryah meshikah.’

The Aramaic word מריא ‘maryah’ is used to translated יהוה ‘Yahweh’ over 6,000 times in the Aramaic Peshitta Old Testament.

Gen 22:14  ויקרא אברהם שׁם־המקום ההוא יהוה יראה אשׁר יאמר היום בהר יהוה יראה׃

Literally, in/on the mountain the LORD will be seen.

Abraham calls the place יהוה יראה ‘Yahweh Yireh’ (The LORD will be seen) יראה ‘Yireh’ is in the Kal stem, 3rd person masculine singular future tense.  In other words, the promise is that God himself would be seen.

Joh 8:56  Your father Abraham leaped for joy that he should see My day, and he saw, and rejoiced.

Joh 8:57  Then the Jews said to Him, You do not yet have fifty years, and have You seen Abraham?

Joh 8:58  Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham came to be, I AM! 

On the mountain the LORD will be seen.  יראה ‘yayrah’eh’ is in the Niphal stem 3rd person masculine singular future tense.  Truly the LORD provided HIMSELF as a lamb in the place of Isaac (mankind).

Gen 22:7  And Isaac spoke to his father Abraham and said, My father. And he said, Behold me. And he
said, Behold, the fire and the wood! But where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

Gen 22:8  And Abraham said, My son, God will see to the lamb for Himself, for a burnt offering. And the two of them went together.

Joh 8:28  Then Jesus said to them, When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM; and from Myself I do nothing; but as My Father taught Me, these things I speak.

Joh 19:19  And Pilate also wrote a title and put it on the cross. And having been written, it was: JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.


Joh 12:32  And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all to Myself (John 8:28 Messiah states this is how they will know He is ‘I AM’).

Joh 12:33  But He said this, signifying by what kind of death He was about to die.

Joh 12:34  The crowd answered Him, We heard out of the Law that The Christ remains to the age. And how do You say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?

Joh 12:41  Isaiah said these things when he saw His glory, and spoke about Him.

Albert Barnes commentary Joh 12:41 –

When he saw his glory – Isa_6:1-10. Isaiah saw the Lord (in Hebrew, יהוה  Yahweh) sitting on a throne and surrounded with the seraphim. This is perhaps the only instance in the Bible in which Yahweh is said to have been seen by man, and for this the Jews affirm that Isaiah was put to death. God had said Exo_33:20, “No man shall see me and live;” and as Isaiah affirmed that he had seen Yahweh, the Jews, for that and other reasons, put him to death by sawing him asunder. See Introduction to Isaiah, Section 2.

By his glory is meant the manifestation of him – the Shechinah, or
visible cloud that was a representation of God, and that rested over the mercy-seat. This was regarded as equivalent to seeing God, and John here expressly applies this to the Lord Jesus Christ

John affirms that it was the glory of the Messiah that Isaiah saw, and yet Isaiah affirms that it was Yahweh; and from this the inference is irresistible that John regarded Jesus as the Yahweh whom Isaiah saw.

Joh 20:27  Then He said to Thomas, Bring your finger here and see My hands, and bring your hand and thrust into My side, and be not unbelieving, but believing.

Joh 20:28  And Thomas answered and said to Him, My Lord and my God! 

TARGUM Deu. 26:18

And the Word of the Lord doth acknowledge (or honour) you with one acknowledgment in the world this day; as it is written, Who is as Thy people Israel, a peculiar people upon the earth, to be to Him a people beloved, as He hath said unto you, and that you may obey all His commandments? [JERUSALEM. You have chosen the Word of the Lord to be King over you this day, that He may be your God. But the Word of the Lord becometh the King over you for His Name’s sake, as over a people beloved as a treasure, as He hath spoken to you, that you may obey all His commandments.] And He will set you on high, and exalt
you above all the peoples He hath made in greatness, and with a name of glory and splendour, that you may be a holy people before the Lord your God, as He hath spoken.

Joh 20:31  But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
Messiah in Hebrew literally means an anointed one, as in a king (1 Samuel 24:6, 10), prophet (1 Kings 19:16) or priest (Leviticus 4:3, 5, 16; 6:22).  The term is used in reference to His people as well (Psalm 105:15; 1 Chronicles 16:22).  Most important is the usage of the term in reference to the Son of God (Psalm 2:2, 6-7; Matthew 16:16; 26:63; John 6:69),  the Savior of the world (Habakkuk 3:13; Daniel 9:25) who is to rule as King over all the earth (Psalm 45:6-7; 72:1-11; Isaiah 9:6-7; 33:22; Psalm 110:1-4; Jeremiah 23:5-6; Zechariah 9:9-10; Daniel 7:13-14).

David was a picture of Messiah (1 Chronicles 17:17) whose name became a prophetic reference to the Messiah (Jeremiah 23:5; 30:9; 33:15; Ezekiel 34:23-24; 37:24-25; Hosea 3:5; Matthew 1:1; 12:23; 22:42; Acts 2:25-34).

Psa 89:22  An enemy will not exact against him; nor the son of iniquity afflict him.
Psa 89:23  And I will beat down his foes before him, and plague those hating him.
Psa 89:24  But My faithfulness and My mercy is with him; and his horn shall be exalted in My name.
Psa 89:25  And I will set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
Psa 89:26  He shall cry to Me, My Father, You are my God, and the rock of my salvation.
Psa 89:27  And I will make Him My first-born, higher than the kings of the earth.
Psa 89:28  I will keep My mercy for him forever, and My covenant shall hold fast with him.
Psa 89:29  And I have established his Seed forever, and His throne as the days of the heavens.

Psa 89:35  Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David.
Psa 89:36  His Seed shall be forever, and his throne as the sun before Me.

Psa 89:50  Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Your servants, my bearing in my bosom the insults of the many peoples (This is in reference to Messiah carrying the sins of mankind Isaiah 53; Romans 15:3)
Psa 89:51  with which Your enemies have cursed, O Jehovah; with which they have cursed (pierced) the footsteps of Your anointed (משיח ‘mashiyach’).

This Promise is of the Seed, God  in the flesh

Jer 33:14  Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will fulfill the good thing (דבר ‘dabar’ -Word) which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
Jer 33:15  In those days, and at that time, I will cause a Branch of Righteousness to grow up to David. And He shall do judgment and righteousness in the land.
Jer 33:16  In those days Judah shall be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell in safety. And this is the name that shall be called on her: JEHOVAH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Jer 23:5  Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
Jer 23:6  In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Zachariah connected this promise with the coming of the Most High

Luk 1:68  Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because He visited and worked redemption for His people.
Luk 1:69  And He raised up a Horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David;
Luk 1:70  even as He spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets from the age before:
Luk 1:71  Salvation from ones hostile to us, and from the hand of all the ones hostile to us,
Luk 1:72  to execute mercy with our fathers, and to remember His holy covenant,
Luk 1:73  the oath which He swore to our father Abraham,
Luk 1:74  to give to us, that we being delivered out of the hand of those hostile to us, in order to serve Him without fear,
Luk 1:75  in consecration and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
Luk 1:76  And you, child, will be called Prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
Mal. 3:1
Luk 1:77  to give a knowledge of salvation to His people by remission of their sins,
Luk 1:78  through the tender heart of mercy of our God, in which the Dayspring from on high will visit us,
Luk 1:79  to appear to those sitting in darkness and in shadow of death, to direct our feet into the way of peace.
Isa. 9:2

The rulership of the sons of Jacob was given to Judah

Gen 49:10  The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the lawmaker from between his feet, until Shiloh come, and the obedience of the peoples to him.

From this line King Messiah was promised to come

Psa 89:3  I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
Psa 89:4  Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

Rom 1:1  Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ, a called apostle, separated to the gospel of God,
Rom 1:2  which He promised before through His prophets in the holy Scriptures,
Rom 1:3  concerning His Son who came of the seed of David according to flesh,

Psalm 72 speaks of Solomon as a picture of the Messiah to come.

Psa 72:1  Of Solomon. Give the king Your judgments, O God; and Your righteousness to the king’s son.
Psa 72:2  Your people He shall judge in righteousness, and Your poor in justice.
Psa 72:3  The mountains will lift up peace to the people, and the little hills through righteousness.
Psa 72:4  He shall judge the poor of the people; and He shall save the sons of the needy; and He shall crush the oppressor.
Psa 72:5  They shall fear You with the sun, and before the moon in all generations.
Psa 72:6  He shall descend like rain on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth.
{This is a prophecy of the 2 comings of Messiah – Hosea 6:3; Joel 2:23}
Psa 72:7  In His days the righteous shall flourish, and plenty of peace, till the moon is not.
Psa 72:8  He shall also rule from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
See Zechariah 9:10; Revelation 11:15
Psa 72:9  Those dwelling in the desert will bow before Him, and His enemies will lick the dust.
Psa 72:10  The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
Psa 72:11  Yea, all kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him.
Psa 72:12  For He shall save the needy who cries, and the poor with no helper.
Psa 72:13  He shall have pity on the poor and needy; and He saves the souls of the needy ones.
Psa 72:14  He shall redeem their souls from oppression and violence; and their blood shall be precious in His eyes.
Psa 72:15  And He shall live, and the gold of Sheba shall be given to Him; and prayer shall be made for Him
continually; He shall bless Him all the day.
Psa 72:16  A fullness of grain shall be in the earth on top of the mountains; its fruit shall shake like Lebanon; and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth.
Psa 72:17  His name shall be forever; His name shall continue
{ינין ‘yinon’} before the sun; and they shall bless themselves by Him; all nations shall call Him blessed.

Psa 72:18  Blessed is Jehovah God, the God of Israel, who alone does wonderful things.
Psa 72:19  And blessed is His glorious name forever; and the whole earth is filled with His glory! Amen and amen!

The Son

Psa 2:1  Why have the nations raged and the peoples are meditating on vanity?
Psa 2:2  The kings of the earth set themselves; yea, the rulers have plotted together against Jehovah and His Anointed
(His Messiah), saying,
Psa 2:3  We will break their bands in two, and throw off their cords from us.
Psa 2:4  He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall mock at them.
Psa 2:5  Then He will speak to them in His anger, and He will terrify them in His wrath;
Psa 2:6  Yea, I have set My king on My holy mount on Zion.
Psa 2:7  I will declare concerning the statute of Jehovah: He said to Me, You are My Son. Today I have begotten You.
Psa 2:8  Ask of Me, and I will give the nations as Your inheritance; and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.
Psa 2:9  You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
Psa 2:10  Now, then, be wise, O kings; be taught, O judges of the earth:
Psa 2:11  Serve Jehovah with fear; yea, rejoice with trembling.
Psa 2:12  Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Oh the blessings of all those who flee to Him for refuge
(Hebrew – חסה ‘chasah’ – put trust/hope in)!

Verse 12 states that we are to put our trust in the Messiah, yet Scripture also states that we are not to trust men.

Don’t trust in men

Jer 17:5  Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
Psa 118:8  It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Psa 146:3  Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help

Trust in God only

Isa 12:2  Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for Jah Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
Psa 32:10  Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.
Psa 34:8  O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Psa 40:4  Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Psa 84:12  O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
Pro 16:20  He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

We are to trust in the King spoken of in Psalm 2 because He is God.

The Seed of Abraham is the Son of Man who comes from above (John 3:13).  God who came in the flesh, who took hold of the seed of Abraham (Jeremiah 23:6; 33:16).

Heb 2:10  For it was fitting for Him, because of whom are all things, and through whom are all things {Messiah is the Creator – Ephesians 3:9; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Psalm 33:6; Hebrews 1:1-3, 8-12; 11:3; John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:13-17:}, having brought many sons to glory, to perfect Him as the Author of their salvation through sufferings.

The King would be accepted (Zechariah 9:9) and then rejected (Isaiah 49:7).

To be in the Kingdom, the King must be in us.

The Hebrew word for king is מלך ‘melekh’ which comes from the root word לך ‘lakh’ which means to walk.  This is because the purpose and role of a king is to “walk” amongst his people.  King Jesus walks amongst His people through His Spirit and calls us to be His ambassadors (Ephesians 6:19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:20) that He might “walk” through the entire earth.  He has called His people to proclaim to the world that He is their King, by our yielding (Romans 6:13-19) our lives to Him that He might live through us.  Christ in us is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27; 1 Timothy 1:1; 1 Peter 1:3), proclaiming the glory of His kingdom to the earth (Psalm 145:11; Daniel 7:14; 1 Thessalonians 2:12).

1Th_2:12  That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

Psa 145:10  All Your works shall thank You, O Jehovah; and Your saints shall bless You.
Psa 145:11  They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and talk of Your might;
Psa 145:12  to make Your might known to the sons of men; yea, the glorious majesty of His kingdom.
Psa 145:13  Your kingdom is a kingdom to all eternities; and Your rule in all, generation and generation.

לך ‘lakh’ means to walk but it also means a message.  It is the root of the word מלאך ‘melakh’ which means angel, messenger or ambassador.  As servants of our King we are sent forth with the message of His love, the ministry of reconciliation.  We are to imitate Him, by walking in love (Ephesians 5:1-2; 1 John 2:5-6; 4:11-13; 5:1-3).

We are to walk in His footsteps, taking up the cross He has given us and following Him (Matthew 16:24; Mark 8:34; Luke 9:23).  In Greek, this word follow is ἀκολουθέω ‘akoloutheo’ which means to follow one who precedes, to join him as his attendant.  It means to join one as a disciple.  Literally, it means to walk in unity with another on the same road.  The King unifies His people with His love.  The King gathers mankind back to the Father through the message of this love, carried to the world by His servants, called to serve in love.

Our King Messiah said that the world would know we are His disciples by our love.  He did not say they would know us by our understanding of doctrine/theology.
Joh_13:35  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
1Jn 3:10  In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1Jn 3:11  For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

When the King of Kings and Lord of Lord returns, He will judge us according to our service in love (Matthew 25:31-46).  Serving in love is the true path to ‘theology’ or knowing God (Jeremiah 22:16).   Scripture declares that love of one’s fellow man is equated with love of God (1 John 4:11-12, 20-21) and is the fulfillment and purpose of His Word (Matthew 22:39-40; Romans 13:8-10; Galatians 6:2).  It does not say love of one’s fellow religious counterpart, but of one’s fellow MAN (Galatians 6:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:15; 3 John 1:11), even our enemies (Luke 6:35).  This love is manifested in service to one another (Galatians 5:13-14; 6:2; John 13:35; 1 John 3:16-19), in particular the poor and weak amongst us.

The work of the Holy Spirit in the process of purification is to lead us to love (1 Peter 1:22).  The goal of the Torah/Word is to lead us to love (1 Timothy 1:5; Galatians 5:14; 6:2).  Love is the fruit which reveals that we are growing in maturity in Messiah (2 Peter 1:5-8).  Love is the bond of perfectness (Colossians 3:14).
Messiah came to earth in the very image of Almighty God (2 Corinthians 4:4; Colossians 1:15; Hebrews 1:3), who is love.  His life displayed that love and He calls all those who believe in Him to display that love as well.  This is the essence of the concept of ‘Christ in us.’  It is through His love that man is formed into His image (Colossians 3:10; Romans 8:29) where there is no longer Jew or Greek, Barbarian or Scythian but Messiah is all and in all (Colossians 3:11).

This is the message of the Gospel.  Love.  Love that breaks down the barriers and walls which man has set up to divide (Ephesians 2:1-22; 1 Corinthians 12:13).  Love that breaks down the wall of sin which has separated man from God (Isaiah 59:2; John 3:16; 12:32; Isaiah 49:6; Revelation 5:9).  This love is revealed in our actions towards our fellow man, not in our intellectual proclamations.  All of us see through a glass darkly which keeps us from seeing eye to eye (1 Corinthians 13:12).  The only remedy for this is love (1 Corinthians 13:1-13; 1 John 4:7-21).  Love and patience towards one another until the Lord returns and His salvation is fully revealed (Isaiah 52:7-10).  Love allows man to understand that we can have differences of opinions but ultimately if we abide in love we can dwell in peace and unity (Ephesians 4:2-16, 32; 5:1-2; Colossians 3:9-17).

Eph 4:1  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Eph 4:2  With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:4  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5  One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

This is the essence of being a “little guy in the Eye”. Love. Walking in close relationship with God who is love (1 John 4:8) and extending that love to our fellow man (1 John 4:12). Its not about religion or doctrine, its about relationship with the Most High. Each one of us must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling as God works through us according to His good pleasure (Philippians 2:12-13). If we keep focused on Him and not on religion He will be able to transform us from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18) until we are formed into the image of His Son (Romans 8:29).

Joh 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Joh 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
Joh 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Every knee shall bow to the King.  Everyone shall humble themselves before Him.  His people are to carry forth this message in all that we do.

Php 2:1  If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
Php 2:2  Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Php 2:3  Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Php 2:4  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Php 2:5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

Mic 6:8  He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

We are called to be kings and priests who reign with Him (Revelation 1:6; 5:10; Romans 8:17) but we must first become as He did (2 Timothy 2:12; Revelation 20:4; 1 Peter 4:13-16).  He, who reigned from eternity (Micah 5:2; Colossians 1:16-29), humbled Himself below all and offered His life for the sake of love (Philippians 2:3-13).  So too, we are to lay down our lives for the sake of love (Romans 12:1-5), for the sake of our King who is love.
