The Presidents Code – Speaker of the House Joseph Bradley Varnum
Joseph Bradley Varnum would be elected as Speaker of the House during the 10th Congress which occurred after the 1806 election where Democratic-Republicans continued to build upon their large majority in Congress. Varnum would remain in this role until his resignation in 1811. His name is speaking of the false freedom that the serpent offered Adam and Eve and the end of innocence as a result of their partaking of the forbidden fruit.
Joseph comes from the Hebrew name יוֹסֵף ‘yoseph’ which means to add to something. The serpent sneaked into the garden corrupting the Word of God by adding to it (Deuteronomy 4:2).
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Here we see the serpent confirming what the Most High had said. This was followed by an addition to the Word, a lie that the Lord was not telling the whole story.
Genesis 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Genesis 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Bradley comes from an English surname meaning ‘broad clearing.’ The Hebrew word for ‘freedom’ is רחב ‘rachav’ which has the exact same meaning of a ‘broad clearing’ or ‘wide open spaces.‘
By adding to His Word, the serpent promised mankind ‘freedom’ from the ‘bondage’ of the Most High. This corruption led mankind astray and has been the source of the battle between good and evil ever since. The true concept of freedom in the Bible means dwelling in the camp of the Most High and abiding by His rules. The counterfeit version of freedom is ‘do what thou wilt’ yet this freedom in reality leads to a bondage to sin (Romans 6:16; 2 Peter 2:19).
Varnum comes from the Old English ‘fearn-hamm’ meaning fern covered homestead or property. This is depicting Adam and Eve covering their naked bodies, their ‘homes’ (2 Peter 1:13-14) with fig leaves.
Genesis 3:7 And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed leaves of the fig tree, and made girdles for themselves.
Joseph Bradley Varnum’s term as Speaker continued into James Madison‘s Presidency which is a picture of the warfare between the seeds, a continuation of the Biblical storyline.
