The Presidents Code – President Pro Tempore John Langdon 2nd term
The Pro-Administration faction regained the Senate majority in November and re-appointed John Langdon as President Pro Tempore. Langdon’s name meaning is speaking of Adam dwelling in the Garden of Eden in freedom and innocence. In most languages, when a word is repeated it is a literary device used for emphasis. This displays an emphasis on the state of man in Paradise. This is used in Hebrew and Greek, the languages of the Bible so it not a stretch for me to see this being used in this “code”. John Langdon is the first example of an individual presiding over a particular office multiple times but it will happen numerous times throughout our history. Each time, in light of this “code”, the interpretation of it being used as emphasis seems to fit well.
For the full meaning of John Langdon’s name see the article for his first term as President Pro Tempore.
