Mountains are associated with the giving of God’s Word.
Exo 19:3  And Moses went up to God. And Jehovah called to him from the mountain, saying, You shall say this to the house of Jacob, and tell it to the sons of Israel.
Exo 19:4  You have seen what I did to Egypt; and I bore you on wings of eagles and brought you to Me.
Exo 19:5  And now if listening you will listen to My voice, and will keep My covenant, you shall become a special treasure to Me above all the nations, for all the earth is Mine.
Exo 19:6  And you shall become a kingdom of priests for Me, a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the sons of Israel.
Exo 19:11  And be ready for the third day. For on the third day Jehovah will go down before the eyes of all the people on the mountain of Sinai.
Deu 5:4  Jehovah talked with you face to face in the mountain out of the midst of the fire.

It was on a Mount that Christ Jesus taught His people
Mat 5:1  But seeing the crowds, He went up into the mountain, and seating Himself, His disciples came near to Him.

It is on a Mount that He will again teach mankind
Mic 4:1  But it shall be in the end of the days, the mountain of the house of Jehovah shall be established on the top of the mountains; and it shall be lifted up from the hills; and peoples shall flow on it.
Mic 4:2  And many nations shall come and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, and to the house of the God of Jacob. And He will teach us from His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For the Law shall go forth out of Zion, and the Word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.
Mic 4:3  And He shall judge between many peoples, and will decide for strong nations afar off. And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, nor shall they learn war still.
Mic 4:4  But they shall each one sit under his vine and under his fig tree, and there shall be no trembling. For the mouth of Jehovah of Hosts has spoken.
Mic 4:5  For all the peoples walk, each one in the name of his god; but we will walk in the name of Jehovah our God forever and ever.
Mic 4:6  In that day I will gather the lame, declares Jehovah, and I will gather the banished, and the one I have afflicted.
Mic 4:7  And I will set the lame in place into a remnant, and her who was cast off into a strong nation. And Jehovah shall reign over them in Mount Zion from now on, and to forever.

Isa 2:1  The Word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:
Isa 2:2  And it shall be in the last days, the mountain of the house of Jehovah shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow into it.
Isa 2:3  And many people shall go and say, Come and let us go up to the mount of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob. And He will teach from His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For out of Zion the Law will go forth, and the Word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.
Isa 2:4  And He shall judge among the nations and shall rebuke many people. And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they learn war any more.
Isa 2:5  Oh house of Jacob, come and let us walk in the light of Jehovah.

Receiving His Word on the Mountain is linked with walking in His Light.  It is interesting to note that there are 7 mountains around Jerusalem linking to the Menorah which has 7 branches of light.

Psa 125:1  A Song of Ascents. They who trust in Jehovah shall be like Mount Zion; it is not shaken; it remains forever.
Psa 125:2  The mountains are all around Jerusalem; and Jehovah is all around His people, from this time and forever.

The seven mountains upon which Jerusalem sits are Mount Zion (Psalm 125:1), Mount Ophel (2 Chronicles 33:14), Mount Moriah (2 Chronicles 3:1), Mount Bezetha, Mount Acra, Mount Gareb (Jeremiah 31:39), and Mount Goath (Jeremiah 31:39)

The Promised land is likened to a bride.

Rev 21:9  And one of the seven angels came to me, he having the seven bowls being filled with the seven last plagues, and spoke with me, saying, Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.

Rev 21:10  And he carried me in spirit onto a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, holy Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God,

This is interesting to note as the Hebrew word for mountain is הר ‘har.’  The Hebrew word for pregnant (הרה ‘harah’) comes from this root word as a pregnant belly is like a “mound” rising up out of the ground.

Salvation and being born again is linked to conception and pregnancy.

1Pe 1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1Jo 3:9  Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Jam 1:18  Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Jas 1:21  On account of this, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of evil, in meekness receive the implanted Word being able to save your souls.

Isa 62:1  For Zion’s sake, I will not be silent; and for Jerusalem’s sake, I will not rest; until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a burning lamp.
Isa 62:2  And nations shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. And you shall be called by a new name which the mouth of Jehovah shall specify.
Isa 62:3  You also shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of Jehovah , and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
Isa 62:4  You no longer shall be called Forsaken; nor shall your land any longer be called Desolate. But you shall be called, My Delight is in Her; and your land, Married. For Jehovah delights in you, and your land is married.

Isa 62:10  Pass! Pass through the gates; prepare the way of the people! Raise up! Raise up the highway; clear it from stones; lift up a banner over the peoples.
Isa 62:11  Behold, Jehovah has made it to be heard to the end of the earth; Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold! Your salvation comes! Behold! His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.
Isa 62:12  And they shall call them, The Holy People, the Redeemed of Jehovah. And to you it shall be called, Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.

God surrounding His people is linked with His return and judgment on the beast

Psa 125:2  The mountains are all around Jerusalem; and Jehovah is all around His people, from this time and forever.

Zec 2:5 And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, and I will be for glory in her midst, declares Jehovah.

Isa 31:4  For so Jehovah has said to me: As the lion roars, even the young lion on his prey when the multitude of shepherds are gathered against him, he will not fear their voice, nor fret himself because of their noise. So Jehovah of Hosts shall go down to fight on Mount Zion, and on its hill. {This is speaking of the Messiah 2nd coming- Zechariah 14:3}

Isa 31:5  As birds that fly (Matthew 23:37), so Jehovah of Hosts will shield (גנן ‘ganan’ – garden) over Jerusalem; shielding (גנן ‘ganan’) and delivering, and passing over (פסח ‘pesach’), He will save it (מלט ‘malat’ – used in Isaiah 66:7 speaking of the delivering of the manchild/Zion).
Isa 31:6  Turn back to Him against whom you have made a deep revolt, sons of Israel.
Isa 31:7  For in that day each shall despise his silver idols and his golden idols, which your hands have made for you; a sin.
Isa 31:8  Then Assyria shall fall by a sword, not of man; yea, a sword, not of man, shall devour him. For he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall become forced labor.
Isa 31:9  And his rock will pass away from fear; and his commanders shall tremble at the banner, declares Jehovah, whose fire is in Zion, and His furnace in Jerusalem. {The Banner is Jesus Exodus 17:15; Isa 11:10; 49:22)

The Menorah is a picture of His body.
Rev 1:20  The mystery of the seven stars which you saw on My right, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are angels of the seven assemblies, and the seven lampstands you saw are seven assemblies.

Mat 5:14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The word for mountain in Hebrew is the same as a pregnant woman.

Isa 66:7  Before she travailed, she brought forth; before pain came to her, she delivered a male child.
Isa 66:8  Who has heard a thing like this? Who has seen things like these? Shall the earth be brought forth in one day? Shall a nation be born in one step? For Zion travailed and also brought forth her sons.

Zion is a people
Isa 51:15  But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name.
Isa 51:16  And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

Deu 32:43  Rejoice, O nations, of His people; for He shall avenge the blood of His servants, and shall render vengeance to His foes, and shall have mercy on His land and His people.

His land and His people is literally ‘His land, His people’

Isa 62:11  Behold, Jehovah has made it to be heard to the end of the earth; Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold! Your salvation comes! Behold! His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.
Isa 62:12  And they shall call them, The Holy People, the Redeemed of Jehovah. And to you it shall be called, Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.

Mat 5:14  You are the light of the world. A city situated on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Mat 5:15  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under the grain measure, but on the lampstand; and it shines for all those in the house.
Mat 5:16  So let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works, and may glorify your Father in Heaven.

Rev 21:9  And one of the seven angels came to me, he having the seven bowls being filled with the seven last plagues, and spoke with me, saying, Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.

Rev 21:10  And he carried me in spirit onto a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, holy Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God,

Rev 21:11  having the glory of God. And its light was like a very precious stone, as a jasper stone, being clear as crystal,
Rev 21:12  and having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates and names having been inscribed, which are of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.

The city on a hill is the Church, the body of Christ in whom the light of salvation burns.
