Daily Tidbits 3/4 – Shadows of Messiah: Vice Presidents

On 3/4/1789 the office of the Vice Presidency was formed.  As seen in a previous tidbit, the meanings of the names of the U.S. Presidents tell the story of the Bible.  Amazingly, the Vice Presidents elaborate further on this storyline in perfect order.

Following is the meaning of the Presidents and Vice Presidents Names in story form.  The words that correspond to the names of the Presidents and Vice Presidents are in bold.  The Presidents meanings are in black, the Vice Presidents in red.  Vice Presidents who became President are underlined.

In the beginning, The LORD planted a garden eastward in Eden in the midst of which was a riverIn His grace, He put man in the garden.  Into the Garden entered a stranger (the serpent) who took  peace from the man when he brought doubt to Adam and Eve, causing them to partake of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of which they were commanded not to eat.  This brought man and woman into captivity to sin.  The ‘light bringer‘ Lucifer brought sin into the world which clung to man and brought forth thorns and thistles.  Man would from then on work the ground by the sweat of his brow. This subtil deception of the serpent brought warfare between his seed, and the seed of the woman.  Man was exiled from the Garden and Cherubim guarded the way back to the Garden, preventing man from re-entering. God’s judgment was issued upon man and the serpent, initiating the war between the Seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent. In this battle, the grace of God is promised to man through the Seed of the woman.  Through His grace, the way back to the Garden from whence the living water flows is made known.

This warfare of the two seeds is early displayed in the account of Abel and Cain, who became a builder of cities.   Cain murdered Abel, but God’s grace was given to Adam and Eve in another son, Seth, the ‘brave ruler‘ or the house of Adam.

Following these days, man multiplied upon the earth and filled the earth with violenceNoah found grace in the eyes of God, and was commanded to build an ark, a fortress from the sea.  God remembered Noah and stopped the flood waters.  Noah left the ark when the earth was dried and the LORD cut a covenant with him to never again destroy the earth with a flood.

Noah became a man of the earth and planted a vineyard and drank the wine thereof.  His son Ham saw his father’s nakedness which led to the cursing of his son Canaan and the blessing of Shem.  Canaan was cursed to be a slave while Shem was declared the ‘freeman‘ of God. The King from whom would come the Seed of the woman, the King from Heaven, the Son of God.

70 nations came forth from the sons of Noah during which time Nimrod rose to power, ‘a mighty hunter before the Lord.’  He was a false branch, a false messiah who led mankind astray.  In his days the Tower of Babel was built, but the conspiracy of mankind was broken by the grace of God.

The Almighty then called Abraham and promised to make him a father of a multitude, called to walk in His waysAbraham was called to leave his home, to go to the land/camp promised by the Lord. Through Abraham was promised the Seed, the Son of God who would bring grace to mankind.  Isaac brought forth Jacob and Esau, whose relationship was defined by  hatred where the elder  would serve the younger. Jacob was to be the inheritor of the promise to Abraham, taking up the call of God to ‘walk before me and be perfect.’ Jacob deceived Isaac into receiving the blessing of the ‘home ruler‘ which was supposed to go to Esau.  The caused hatred of Esau, known as Edom, towards his brother caused Jacob to flee to Padan-Aram where he would live with Laban and be hidden from the wrath of Esau.  Jacob served Laban for 20 years as a shepherd in the open fields.  Laban deceived Jacob on numerous occasions as he dwelt as a foreigner in a strange land.  It was in this strange land that the 12 tribes of Israel were born.

On his way back to Canaan, Jacob wrestled with a Man where he was renamed Israel.  Called to rule with God, the Rock of Ages.  Israel/Jeshurun was to be a king/priest to the nations, dwelling in the land of Israel.  A shadow picture of Messiah, the Son of the Right Hand, who will rule all nations in the Kingdom.

After Shechem, the son of Hamor defiled Jacob’s daughter Dinah, Simeon and Levi, who would be priest, destroyed the people of the land.  Jacob worried that the inhabitants of the land would seek to attack him because of this and had to rely on the testimony of the LORD as his deliverance.  Jacob desired protection from the Most High.  Jacob then rose up to go to Bethel, where he was first given the promise of Abraham by God (Genesis 28:11-22).  On the way, Jacob tells his children to cleanse their clothing and put away the strange gods from their midst. It is here that God puts fear into the hearts of the inhabitants of the land, giving Jacob his desired protection.  The warrior who protects His flock. The helmet of salvation (1Thessalonians 5:8; Genesis 49:18), the gift of God, the Rose of Sharon, The Good shepherd who defends and guards His sheep.  The Good Shepherd fills the mouths of His sheep with good things, even in the midst of darkness and famine.  He protects and defends them as they travel down into Egypt, the ‘dark city.’

Through envy and deception, Joseph was sold into Egypt who would prepare the way for Israel.  Joseph would preserve life and keep bellies full with wheat in the midst of famine as the ruler of Egypt, second only to Pharaoh.

Israel went down into Egypt and dwelt in Goshen, which was a gift of the Most High to increase his seed in a place of ‘hardiness‘ amidst famine, a ‘baldness‘ of the land.  Here Israel dwelt in Egypt, yet was separated from the people of the land as shepherds were an abomination to them.  Here Israel multiplied in numbers to become an army of those who were to bear the Word.  For a time, Israel was a freeman dwelling in the ‘wetlands‘ of the Nile Delta, likened unto a roseHis camp which fed upon grain by His grace. Israel dwelt in Goshen by the sea as foreigners. In time, a Pharaoh who ‘knew not Joseph’ rose to power and came to hate Israel, leading them into bondage. The LORD heard the cries of His servant Israel and rose up a trusty man named Moses who was saved as a baby on an ark. Israel was crying out due to their bondage of making bricks for Pharaoh, crying out to the LORD for deliverance.

The LORD called Moses from the mountain of God, to deliver His beloved people from the bondage of Pharaoh, from the midst of the ‘iron furnace‘ where Israel would rejoice and sing praise to their God.  The LORD promises victory for His people by the hand of Moses, the brave ruler who leads Israel into the wilderness where they would be sustained by manna. By the grace of God, Moses came with the rod of God and delivered Israel.  He led the vine of Israel to the promised land, the ‘camp of God‘, as they were cleansed from the defilements of Egypt.

It is in the wilderness that the LORD gives Israel His Torah, which is their wisdom before the nations and their source of peace.

The people of Israel were victorious over the nations of Canaan and became rulers/priests to the nations in the land that does not lack bread. To be guided by His Spirit, daily reminded of Him by the lamb offered in the Tabernacle. Ruling over the nations with a ‘rod of iron.’  However, Jeshurun ‘waxed fat’ and became like unto a rebellious heifer.  Wolves entered the flock and led the people into the false worship of the Mysteries.  Israel rebelled against the Most High and desired a king.  Israel backslid and turned away from the commandments, ‘traversing on the waters‘ of Babylon.   A champion of the men of old, the men of renown, rose up against Israel in an open field. The LORD raised up a noble warrior to be king of Jacob, named David, during whose days He brought back the ark of the covenant from the Philistines on a cart, there was victory over their enemies in his days.  David was ruler of a powerful army which subdued the nations and freed Israel from bondage.

Solomon, the wise counselor, became king after David and reigned in peace.  However, his rebellion against the Most High caused by foreign wives led to the dividing of the kingdom of Israel.  It was the unwise counsel of Rehoboam that ultimately led to the split between the Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judah where Rehoboam only retained 2 tribes, thus becoming a ‘little king.’

During the days of the kings of Israel, the armies of Israel become more and more wicked, walking in the ways of the heathen until the King of Assyria was brought through the Fullers Field, leading Israel into exile. The LORD sent His prophets warning the people of the evil to come, or through repentance the good.  They would not repent because of their fleshly lusts so His judgment came. Israel desired peace, but did not obey the voice of the Lord which brings peace.  Hence, a stranger entered their territory  and took away their peace and took them hostage to their shame.  However, even in exile, the LORD spoke through the mouth of the prophets giving Israel ‘cheerful‘ hope that if they broke up their fallow ground, He would come and rain righteousness and peace upon them.  If they would do this, He would bring shame  upon their enemies and wash them of their iniquities.  Nebuchadnezzar came and took away Judah captive, yet in their yoke of slavery, the promise of redemption and return to the promised land is given.

He promised to send His messenger to prepare His way when He comes like a refiner’s fire and like fuller‘s soap.  The brave ruler of the people, whose goings forth have been of old, from everlasting.  The promise of Immanuel, God who would dwell among us The blessed one, the beautiful one would descend from the throne on High and take upon the sins of mankind to deliver them from the punishment of sin.  The Famous One, the Good Shepherd who by His death and resurrection, gathers together His flock, His two houses.

The first President was George Washington.  Washington’s name is speaking of the planting of the Garden of Eden.  For brevity sake, the meanings of the names of the Presidents will only be reviewed here.  For more details see Shadows of Messiah – The Presidents Code.

The first Vice President, and second President was John Adams.

John Adams

John comes from יוֹחָנָן ‘yochanan’ meaning the grace or camp of God.

Adams comes from the Hebrew word אדם ‘adam’ meaning man.

Here we see the LORD, by His grace, putting Adam in the Garden of Eden.

Gen 2:15  And Jehovah God took the man and put him into the Garden of Eden, to work it and to keep it.

The Vice President during Adam’s Presidency was Thomas Jefferson who then became third President.

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas comes from the Hebrew word תָּאוֹמָא ‘ta’oma’ which means a twin in Hebrew but also means to be full (John 20:27).  This is a picture of the creation of Eve, the ‘twin’ of Adam.

Gen 2:18  And Jehovah God said, It is not good, the man being alone. I will make a helper suited to him.
Gen 2:19  And Jehovah God formed every animal of the field, and every bird of the heavens out of the ground. And He brought them to the man, to see what he would call it. And all which the man might call it, each living soul, that was its name.
Gen 2:20  And the man called names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the heavens, and to every animal of the field. But no helper suited to him was found for a man.
Gen 2:21  And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall on the man, and he slept. And He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh underneath.
Gen 2:22  And Jehovah God formed the rib which He had taken from the man into a woman, and brought her to the man.
Gen 2:23  And the man said, This now at last is bone from my bones, and flesh from my flesh. For this shall be called Woman, because this has been taken out of man.
Gen 2:24  Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh.

The Hebrew word for twin תאם ‘taam’ comes from the root word תם ‘tam’ which means complete or whole.  This is related to the Hebrew word כל ‘kol’ which also means complete or whole.  The Hebrew word for bride is כללה  ‘kallah’ which comes from the root כל ‘kol’ because a bride is one added to a man to make him complete.

Jefferson means son of Geoffrey.  Geoffrey is a Germanic word consisting of ‘gawia’ meaning territory, ‘walah’ meaning stranger, ‘gisil’ meaning hostage and ‘frid’ meaning peace.  This is a picture pointing to man leaving father and mother and cleaving to his wife.

In Genesis 2:18, the phrase ‘help meet’ is עזר כנגדו ‘ezer kenegdo’ which literally means the one who is opposite who helps.  This would describe the above word ‘walah’ meaning a stranger.  The Hebrew word for marry is לקח ‘leqach’ which literally means to take, and can be used in the sense of taking hostage which points to the above word ‘gisil.’  The Hebrew word for peace is שלום ‘shalom’ which comes from the root של ‘shel’ which means to draw out or in.  Here is concept of cleaving to one another displays this peace/drawing in together as one.

Thomas Jefferson is also a picture of the serpent who deceived Eve by bringing doubt. This is the theme displayed in Jefferson’s Presidency. Thomas comes from the Hebrew word תָּאוֹמָא ‘ta’oma’ which means a twin in Hebrew and is linked to doubt (John 20:27).  Doubt is the tool that the adversary used to deceived Eve, ‘hath God said.’

In Adam’s Presidency, it was seen that Jefferson’s name described the picture of Adam and Eve joining together in marriage but in this chapter points to the adversary and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.  This is how the Hebrew language, from whence all languages come forth, works.  Each word has a positive and negative meaning.  The only way to know which is to be used is according to the context of what is being said.

Jefferson means son of Geoffrey.  Geoffrey is a Germanic word consisting of ‘gawia’ meaning territory, ‘walah’ meaning stranger, ‘gisil’ meaning hostage and ‘frid’ meaning peace.  The stranger who enters a territory and takes peace hostage.  This is what the serpent did when he entered the Garden of Eden and led Adam and Eve to partake of the fruit which they were commanded not to eat.

The Vice President during Jefferson’s first term was Aaron Burr.

Aaron Burr

Aaron comes from the Hebrew name אַהֲרֹן ‘aharon’ which means the ‘light bringer.’  This is referring to Lucifer which comes from the Hebrew word הילל ‘heylel’ which means a light bringer.

Isa 14:12  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Burr: A burr is a seedhead that sticks to clothing.

The ‘Lightbringer’ who deceived Adam and Eve, who ‘sticks’ to their clothing (covering) and is hard to shake off.

Gen 3:17  And He said to the man, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree about which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat from it, the ground shall be cursed because of you; you shall eat of it in sorrow all the days of your life.
Gen 3:18  And it shall bring forth thorns and thistles for you, and you shall eat the plant of the field.
Gen 3:19  By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until your return to the ground. For you have been taken out of it; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

The Vice President during Thomas Jefferson’s second term was George Clinton.

George Clinton

George comes from the Greek name Γεωργιος ‘Georgios’ which means an earthworker.

Clinton is from a surname which was originally from an Old English place name meaning “settlement on the River Glyme”. The River Glyme is a river in Oxfordshire, England. It is a tributary of the River Evenlode. The river’s name is derived from the Brythonic for “bright stream”.

A ‘bright stream’ links to the Hebrew concept of ‘breaking up your fallow ground.’  The Hebrew word for light ניר ‘niyr’ is a picture of a farmer breaking up the fallow ground which causes the water beneath to reflect the light of the sun.

Adam was cursed to work the ground, getting bread from the sweat of his brow.  This is associated with breaking up the fallow ground.  Plowing in Hebrew is associated with the word אל ‘el’ which also means God.  אל ‘el’ literally means the strong authority which was displayed as an oxen in the yoke plowing a field.  An older, more experienced ox would be teamed up (yoked) with a younger, less experienced ox. The older ox in the yoke is the “strong authority” who, through the yoke, teaches the younger ox.  In Hebrew thought, God is the more experienced ox to whom we are to be yoked with (Matthew 11:29-30).

When Adam took of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, he was proclaiming he wanted to be his own god and so was cursed to plow the field with much difficulty, no longer yoked with Almighty God.  Poetic justice….

George Clinton was also Vice President during James Madison’s first term.  Madison’s Presidency is a picture of the war between the Seed of the Woman and the seed of the serpent.

The Madison & Clinton presidency further illustrates the warfare caused by the sin in the garden where man would have to gain bread by the sweat of his brow.

Elbridge Gerry was the Vice President for James Madison’s second term.

Elbridge Gerry

Elbridge is from the Old English, meaning “Old Bridge”.  This is speaking of Adam being cast out of the Garden.  A bridge connects one place to another.

Thomas comes from the Hebrew word תָּאוֹמָא ‘ta’oma’ which means a twin in Hebrew and is linked to doubt (John 20:27).  Doubt is the tool that the adversary used to deceived Eve, ‘hath God said.’

Gerry is from a Germanic name meaning “rule of the spear”, from the elements ger “spear” and wald “rule”.

Twins that rule by the sword is speaking of the Cherubim that guarded the way to the Garden who protected the ‘old bridge’ not allowing man back into the Garden.

Gen 3:23  Jehovah God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground out of which he was taken.
Gen 3:24  And He drove the man out. And He lodged the cherubs at the east of the Garden of Eden, and the flaming sword whirling around to guard the way of the Tree of Life.

Daniel D. Tompkins was the next Vice President during James Monroe’s Presidency.  The picture during Monroe’s Presidency is a continuation of the war between the seeds.

Daniel D. Tompkins

Daniel comes from the Hebrew name דָּנִיֵּאל ‘daniyel’ meaning God is my judge.

D. : Tompkins was baptized Daniel Tompkins, but added the middle initial “D.” while a student at Columbia College to distinguish himself from another Daniel Tompkins there. There is controversy as to what the middle initial stood for; some have suggested “Decius”.

The Letter D comes from the Hebrew letter ד ‘dalet’ which means a door or gate.

Tompkins comes from the name Tom, a diminutive of Thomas and the word kin, meaning family.  This is speaking of the ‘family’ of the one who caused doubt, the seed of the serpent, that will be judged by God.

Further connecting this is the English word ‘kin’ meaning family traces back to the Hebrew word כן ‘ken’ which is speaking of a seed planted into the ground that becomes a root, firm foundation.  Two seeds, two foundations, two houses.

The next President was John Quincy Adams, whose presidency is speaking of the promise of God’s grace towards man and victory over the serpent.  The Vice President during Adam’s Presidency was John C. Calhoun.

John C. Calhoun

John comes from the Hebrew name יוֹחָנָן ‘yochanan’ meaning the grace of God.

Caldwell comes from the Old English words ‘caeld’ which means cold and ‘welle’ which means a well.  Cold water.

Cold waters is referring to the Living Waters associated with the redemption of mankind through Christ Jesus.

Psa 36:7  How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
Psa 36:8  They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures {עדן ‘eden’ – same word used in the beginning of the Garden which the LORD planted}
Psa 36:9  For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Rev 21:6  And He said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the Ending. To the one thirsting, I will freely give of the fountain of the Water of Life.
Rev 22:1  And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Rev 22:2  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Rev 22:14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Rev 22:17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And the one hearing, let him say, Come! And the one thirsting, let him come; and the one desiring, let him take of the water of life freely.
Isa 51:3  For Jehovah comforts Zion. He comforts all her desolations, and He makes her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Jehovah; joy and gladness shall be found in it, thanksgiving and the voice of singing praise.
Eze 47:1  And He made me turn back to the opening of the house. And, behold, water came out from under the threshold of the house eastward. For the face of the house is east, and the water came down from under the right side of the house, at the south from the altar.

Calhoun derived from the Gaelic ‘coil’ or ‘cuil’ meaning nook or corner.  In Scottish Colquhoun which means narrow woods or forest.  Woods or forest comes from the Hebrew word יער ‘ya`ar’ which is related to the word for a city.  The city from whence the cold waters, living waters flows.

John Calhoun was also Vice President during Andrew Jackson’s first term.  Jackson’s Presidency continues the theme of God’s Grace promised to man through the Seed of the woman.

The next Vice President was Martin Van Buren, during Andrew Jackson’s second term, who would go on to become the next President.

Martin Van Buren

Martin traces back to the Roman name ‘Martinus’ which is a derivative of ‘Martis’ which is in the ‘genitive case’ of the name Mars.  This word is related to the Latin word ‘mas’ which means a male.  In Roman mythology Mars is the god of war which began in the beginning with the first male Adam and his decision to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  This is seen in the punishment of the Most High that Adam would have to eat bread by the sweat of his brow.

Gen 3:19 By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until your return to the ground. For you have been taken out of it; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

Van Buren means ‘of the city’ or ‘of neighbors.’  Here we see a picture of Cain, the first murderer or man of war who went and built a city…

Gen 4:8  And Cain talked with his brother Abel. And it happened as they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel, and killed him.
Gen 4:9  And Jehovah said to Cain, Where is your brother Abel? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?
Gen 4:10  And He said, What have you done? The voice of the blood of your brother cries to Me from the ground.
Gen 4:11  And now you are cursed more than the ground which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
Gen 4:12  When you till the ground, it will not again give its strength to you. You shall be a vagabond and a fugitive on the earth.
Gen 4:13  And Cain said to Jehovah, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Gen 4:14  Behold! You have driven me out from the face of the earth today. And I shall be hidden from Your face. And I shall be a vagabond and a fugitive on the earth. And it will be that anyone who finds me shall kill me.
Gen 4:15  And Jehovah said to him, If anyone kills Cain, he shall be avenged sevenfold. And Jehovah set a mark on Cain, so that anyone who found him should not kill him.
Gen 4:16  And Cain went out from the presence of Jehovah. And he lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
Gen 4:17  And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city, and he called the name of the city according to the name of his son, Enoch.

Eve believed that Cain would be the Seed that overcomes the serpent but was sadly mistaken as Cain was in reality of the seed of the serpent.

1Jn 3:12  not as Cain was of the evil one, and killed his brother. And for what did he kill him? Because his works were evil, but the things of his brother were righteous.

Gen 4:1  And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

Literally ‘I have gotten a man the LORD.’
Gen 4:1  והאדם ידע את־חוה אשׁתו ותהר ותלד את־קין ותאמר קניתי אישׁ את־יהוה׃

The Vice President during Van Buren’s Presidency was Richard Mentor Johnson.

Richard Mentor Johnson

Richard means brave power from the Germanic words ‘ric’ meaning ruler or power and ‘hard’ meaning brave.

Mentor comes from the Greek Greek μενος ‘menos’ meaning “spirit.”

Johnson means the Son of God’s Grace.

Here we see the birth of Seth.  Given as the ‘brave ruler’ of the house of Adam after the deat of Abel (The name Abel in Hebrew is הבל ‘hevel’ which means spirit, breathe) from the hands of Cain.

The next President was William Henry Harrison.  His Presidency is a picture of mankind joining forces to form armies and war against each other as seen in the early chapters of Genesis (Genesis 6:5, 13) and in ancient history.  The Vice President during Harrison’s Presidency was John Tyler who would become the next President upon Harrison’s death.

John Tyler

John means the grace of God as mentioned before.

Tyler is from an English surname meaning the ’tiler of roofs.’  Or it could be said, one who covers the roof of a home which protects the dwellers therein from the elements. This is referring to Noah and the building of an ark.

Gen 6:13  And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And behold, I will destroy them along with the earth.
Gen 6:14  Make an ark of cyprus timbers for yourself. You shall make rooms in the ark; and you shall cover it with asphalt inside and out.
Gen 6:15  And you shall make it this way: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
Gen 6:16  You shall make a window in the ark, and you shall finish it above to a cubit. And you shall set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third stories.
Gen 6:17  And behold, I, even I, am bringing a flood of waters on the earth in order to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under the heavens. Everything which is on the earth shall die.

There was no Vice President during John Tyler’s Presidency.  Here then is the theme of the coming flood and the command to Noah being of primary significance during these days.

James K. Polk was the next President.  His Presidency is a picture of the flood where the ark finally sets upon a ’round hill,’ Mt. Ararat (Genesis 8:4).  Where those who prevail with God are brought up from the pit/abyss.  His Vice President was George M. Dallas.

George M. Dallas

George, as mentioned before, means a farmer, or earthworker.

Mifflin is a variant of Merlin.  Merlin is a Welsh name ‘Myrddin’ meaning a sea fortress.

Dallas comes from a Scottish place meaning a ‘meadow dwelling.’

Meadow in Hebrew is אבל ‘aval’ which means a ‘moist ground.’  אבל ‘aval’ comes from בל ‘bal’ which means a flowing away of a substance, in context here the waters of the Flood.  Interestingly, the word for flood in Hebrew בול ‘bul’ or מבול ‘mabul’ comes from this same word.

Zachary Taylor was the next President, a picture of God remembering Noah and the covenant cut after Noah left the ark.  Millard Fillmore was Taylor’s Vice President and the next President.

Millard Fillmore

Millard is from an Old English word meaning ‘guardian of the mill.’  A mill is something that grinds, such as the grinding of grain to make flour or the pressing of olives to make wine.  Noah become a man of the earth who made wine (Genesis 9:20)

Fillmore means ‘very famous,’ ‘well-known,’ or ‘renowned.’  Noah is one of the most well known figures in the history of mankind, the man from whence all men descend from and a prominent figure in all religions.  ‘Well-known’ or ‘renowned’ also links to the Hebrew name שם ‘shem’ the son of Noah and inheritor of the blessing (Genesis 9:26).

Zachary Taylor’s Presidency was only a year, from March 1849 – July 1850.  Millard Fillmore took over from 1850-53.  Taylor’s name meaning is in reference to the remembrance of Noah and the covenant cut between him and God.  Millard Fillmore is speaking of the vineyard of Noah and his son Shem.  There was no Vice President during Millard Fillmore’s Presidency.

Franklin Pierce was the next President.  His Presidency is a picture the blessing upon Shem and the curse upon Canaan.  William R. King was his Vice President.

William R. King

William comes from the Germanic words ‘wil’ meaning desire and ‘helm’ meaning the head, or helmet/protection.

Rufus is a Roman ‘cognomen’ (a combination between a nickname and surname) which means ‘red-haired.’  The Hebrew word for red-haired or ‘ruddy’ is אדמני ‘admoniy’ from the root דם ‘dam’ which literally means blood, as it is red in color.  It is also speaking of an image or likeness, as the son from the blood of his father is in his likeness.

DeVane comes from a Gaelic name ‘O Daimhin’ which comes from the word ‘damh’ meaning an ox or stag.  An ox or stag in Hebrew comes from the word אל ‘el’ which means the strong authority, and also is the word for God.

King comes from the Old English ‘cyning’ meaning a king.

The Son of God, in the Image of His Father, the King of Kings….

This is the time period when Shem, is given dominion over Canaan, a picture of the days of Messiah.

James Buchanan was the next President, a picture of the days of Nimrod and the dividing of the nations.  His Vice President was John C. Breckinridge.

John C. Breckinridge

John means the grace of God.

Cabell comes from the Old French meaning ‘rope maker.’  In Hebrew, rope can refer to wicked imaginations שרירות ‘shariyrut’, such as those that were in the hearts of men at the Tower of Babel.  The word for tower is מגדל ‘migdal’ which comes from the root גדל ‘gadal’ which means great, or large.  Literally, it means the twisting of cords together, the larger and stronger the rope or cable will be.

Breckinridge means from “Brackenrig” referred to plowed fields with ridges and ferns, prolific in this area.  The prefix derives from braken (northern Middle English, meaning “bracken”, itself derived from the Old Norse brækni). The suffix derives from rigg (meaning “ridge”, from the Old Norse hryggr).

A ridge is used as a division between two lands, here referring to the dividing of the tongues at the Tower of Babel.

Bracken are several species of large, coarse ferns of the genus Pteridium.

By the grace of God, the rope is broken (plowed field).  The rope here referring to Babel, and the Tower of Babel.

Gen 11:1  And the whole earth was of one lip and of one speech.
Gen 11:2  And it happened, as they pulled up stakes from the east, they found a level valley in the land of Shinar. And they lived there.
Gen 11:3  And each one said to his neighbor, Come, let us make brick, and burning burn them. And they had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar.
Gen 11:4  And they said, Come, let us build a city and a tower with its head in the heavens, and make a name for ourselves, that we not be scattered on the face of all the earth.
Gen 11:5  And Jehovah came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of Adam had built.
Gen 11:6  And Jehovah said, Behold, the people is one, and the lip one to all of them, and this they are beginning to do, and now all which they have purposed to do will not be restrained from them.
Gen 11:7  Come, let Us go down and confuse their language so that they cannot understand one another’s speech.
Gen 11:8  And Jehovah scattered them from there, over the face of all the earth. And they stopped building the city.
Gen 11:9  On account of this its name is called Babel, because Jehovah confused the language of all the earth there. And Jehovah scattered them abroad from there on the face of all the earth.

Abraham Lincoln was the next President, a picture of the days of the Patriarch Abraham.  The Vice President of his first term was Hannibal Hamlin.

Hannibal Hamlin

Hannibal comes from the Hebrew words חן ‘chen’ meaning grace or camp and בעל ‘ba’al’ meaning the lord.

Hamlin is a German name meaning lover of home.
Gen 12:1  And Jehovah had said to Abram, Go out from your land and from your kindred, and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you.
Gen 12:2  And I will make of you a great nation. And I will bless you and make your name great; and you will be a blessing.
Heb 11:8  Having been called out by faith, Abraham obeyed to go forth to a place which he was going to receive for an inheritance; and he went out not understanding where he went.
Heb 11:9  By faith he resided as a foreigner in a land of promise, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the joint-heirs of the same promise;
Heb 11:10  for he looked forward to a city having the foundations of which the builder and maker is God.

The Vice President of Lincoln’s second term was Andrew Jackson who would become President upon Lincoln’s assassination.

Andrew Jackson

Andrew means man, as mentioned before.

Johnson means son of John.  Son of the grace of God.

Abraham was the one who found grace in the eyes of the Most High, promised to bring forth the Seed.  Literally this is speaking of his son Isaac, a picture of Christ Jesus.  Ultimately, this is speaking of the Seed, who is Messiah.

Gal 3:16  But the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his Seed (it does not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” which is Christ). Genesis 3:15; 21:12; 22:18, Rom. 9:6; Heb. 11:18

There was no Vice President during Andrew Johnson’s Presidency.  This shows the importance of the Son of the grace of God in the storyline.  Pointing to Isaac and ultimately to Messiah Jesus.

Ulysses S. Grant was the next President, a picture of the battle between Jacob and Esau.  The Vice President during Grant’s first term was Schuyler Colfax.

Schuyler Colfax

Schuyler is a Dutch surname meaning scholar.  This is referring to Jacob, who was walking in the footsteps of Abraham.

Gen 18:17  And Jehovah said, Shall I hide from Abraham that which I am doing?
Gen 18:18  And Abraham shall become a great and powerful nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
Gen 18:19  For I have known him, so that whatever he may command his sons and his house after him, even they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice; to the intent that Jehovah may bring on Abraham that which He has spoken of him.
Gen 25:27  And the boys grew up. And Esau became a man knowing hunting, a man of the field. And Jacob was a simple man, living in tents.

The word here in Hebrew for simple or plain man is תם ‘tam’ which means complete or whole.  It corresponds to the following word כל ‘kol’ in reference to the first part of Colfax’s last name.

Colfax:  In Hebrew this would be a combination of כל ‘kol’ meaning completeness or ‘one tamed for the yoke’ and פח ‘pach’ which means a bellows, or air blowing to make the fire hotter.

כל ‘kol’ means completion, one who is mature. This is the Hebrew concept of ‘perfect.’  It is through trials and tribulations, as can be seen in the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that believers are ‘perfected’ or made mature (1 Peter 4:1).

Gen 17:1  And when Abram was ninety nine years old, Jehovah appeared to Abram and said to him, I am the Almighty God! Walk before me and be perfect;

The Vice President for Grant’s second term was Henry Wilson.

Henry Wilson

Henry comes from the Germanic words ‘heim’ meaning home and ‘ric’ meaning power or ruler.

Wilson means son of William.  William comes from the Germanic words ‘wil’ meaning desire and ‘helm’ meaning the head, or helmet/protection.

Home ruler, desiring of protection:  Jacob deceives Isaac into receiving the blessing of the ‘home ruler’ and in a desire for protection flees to Padan Aram.

Rutherford B. Hayes was the next President, a picture of the continuing struggle between Jacob and Esau and Jacob’s fleeing to Laban.  William A. Wheeler was Hayes’ Vice President.

William A. Wheeler

William comes from the Germanic words ‘wil’ meaning desire and ‘helm’ meaning the head, or helmet/protection.

Almon is from the Latin word ‘alemannus’ meaning ‘all the men.’  Almon traces back to the Hebrew word עלמון ‘almon’ meaning concealed.

Wheeler: From a surname meaning “a maker of wheels” in Middle English.  Wheels is speaking of travel.

Jacob flees from Esau, to be hidden from his wrath.

The next President was James A. Garfield whose Presidency is a picture of Jacob dwelling with Laban.  His Vice President was Chester A. Arthur who went on to become the next President after Garfield’s assassination.

Chester A. Arthur

Chester comes from the Latin ‘castrum’ meaning a fortified place.  The Diminutive is ‘Chet’ which is the eight Hebrew letter ח ‘chet.’

Alan means ‘little rock’ or perhaps ‘handsome’ in Breton.

Arthur comes from the Celtic words ‘artos’ meaning a ‘bear’ and ‘viros’ meaning a man or ‘rigos’ meaning a king.

Chet is a wall or a fortified place.  Little rock is what Messiah called Peter when he proclaimed Him as Messiah (Matthew 16:18).  On this rock, or fortified place, ‘I will build my church.’  Arthur can mean man/king bear.  The Hebrew word for bear is דוב ‘dov’ which means the one who is connected to the door of the tent.  Who is the door of the tent?  Messiah (John 10:9).

This is a picture of Jacob wrestling with Messiah where he matures from a man to a king.  The Hebrew word for bear, דוב ‘dov,’ also means sorrow.  When Jacob left Laban and traveled back to the land of Canaan, his heart was filled with sorrow.  This was a picture of Jacob’s trouble in the end of days (Jeremiah 30:7).  It is on the way to meet Esau that Jacob wrestles with a Man (Genesis 32:24-32), and was renamed Israel (Genesis 32:28; Hosea 12:3-5).  Israel means one who rules with God…a king.
Chester A. Arthur’s name is referring to Jacob leaving the land of Laban and traveling back to Canaan where he wrestles with a man and becomes Israel.

There was no Vice President during Arthur’s Presidency.

Grover Cleveland was the next President, a picture of Jacob returning to the Promised Land.  His Vice President was Thomas A. Hendricks.

Thomas A. Hendricks

Thomas – means a twin or full.  It is also referring to doubt (Genesis 3:1-5).  Here we see the doubt that Jacob had as he dwelt in two (twin) camps.

Gen 32:1  And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.
Gen 32:2  And when he saw them, Jacob said, This is the camp of God. And he called the name of that place, Two Camps.

Andrew comes from the Greek word ανηρ ‘aner’ which means man.  This is referring to The Man that Jacob wrestled.

Gen 32:24  And Jacob was left alone. And a Man wrestled with him until the ascending of the dawn.

Hendricks comes from the name Henry.  Henry comes from the Germanic words ‘heim’ meaning home and ‘ric’ meaning power or ruler.

Gen 32:28  And He said, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, because you have wrestled with God and with men, and have prevailed.

Benjamin Harrison was the next President, a picture of Jacob dwelling in the Land.  His Vice President was Levi P. Morton.

Levi P. Morton

Levi comes from the Hebrew name לוי ‘levi’ which means attached or joined to.

Parsons comes from the occupational name of a servant of a parish or priest, a parson.  This is a strong reference to Levi, who would become the progenitor of the Priesthood.

Morton comes from a place meaning ‘moor town.’  A moor is a fen, or marsh…now mostly applied to flat areas.  Some derive the word from the ancient Greek Μαύρος ‘mauros’, meaning “dark”.  Moreno, from the Latin root, can mean “tanned” in Spain and Portugal, as well as in Brazil. Also in Spanish, morapio is a humorous name for “wine”, especially that which has not been “baptized” or mixed with water, i.e., pure unadulterated wine.

A dark town may be referring to Shechem and his father Chamor and the vengeance that Levi and Simeon took upon the inhabitants thereof to revenge their sister (Genesis 34).  Chamor comes from the Hebrew word חמר ‘chamar’ which means black, or tar and also dark wine.  It corresponds perfectly with the last name Morton.

Grover Cleveland took his second Presidency after Benjamin Harrison, the picture this time is Israel dwelling in the land of Israel.  His Vice President was Adlai Stevenson.

Adlai Stevenson

Adlai is a Hebrew name עַדְלָי meaning God is just. Hitchcock defines עדלי ‘adlai’ as my witness; my ornament.  עד ‘ad’ is the Hebrew word for testimony or witness, literally speaking of the door of the Tabernacle.  לי ‘li’ means ‘to me’ or ‘for me.’  God allowed Levi and Simeon to bring down justice on Shechem for his wickedness, but in their zeal they went too far.

Gen 49:6  Let not my soul come into their counsel; let not my spirit be joined to their company. For in their anger they killed a man; and in selfwill they hamstrung a bull.
Gen 49:7  Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob, and I will scatter them in Israel.

Ewing comes from the Gaelic name ‘Eoghan’ which traces back to the Greek word ευγενής ‘eugenes’ which means noble, or literally ‘well-born’ or ‘good genes.’

Stevenson means son of Steven which comes from the Greek name Στεφανος ‘Stephanos’ which means a crown.

It is through this event that Jacob become ‘crowned’ in the land, with the inhabitants fearing him.
Gen 35:5  And they pulled up stakes. And the terror of God was on the cities all around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob.

This terror is associated with the righteousness/justice of God in His people, a righteous generation (good genes).
Psa 14:5  There they were afraid of terror, for God is in the righteous generation.

William McKinley was the next President, a picture of Jacob’s desire of protection from God, and the fear put upon the inhabitants of Canaan.  His Vice President during his first term was Garret Hobart.

Garret Hobart
Garret Hobart

Garret is an English surname derived from Gerald/Gerard.  Gerald means to ‘rule by the spear/rod.’  Gerald means brave with the spear/rod.

Augustus means great or venerable, from the Latin ‘augere’ which means to increase.

Hobart is a variant of Hubert which means ‘bright heart/mind’ or a ‘shining intellect.’

This is referring to the Tribes of Israel who increased in the land of Canaan to 70 people, filled with wisdom which is His Word.
Deu 4:6  Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
Psa 111:10  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Psa 119:97  MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
Psa 119:98  Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.
Psa 119:99  I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
Psa 119:100  I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
Sir 19:20  The fear of the Lord is all wisdom; and in all wisdom is the performance of the law, and the knowledge of his omnipotency.

Psa 37:30  The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks judgment.
Psa 37:31  The Law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slide.

The Vice President of McKinley’s second term was Theodore Roosevelt who would become the next President after his assassination.

Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore comes from the Greek name Θεοδωρος ‘Theodoros’ which means ‘gift of God.’  θεος ‘theos’ meaning “god” and δωρον ‘doron’ meaning “gift”.

Roosevelt means a rose field.  This points to the ‘rose’ of Sharon, who is Messiah.

Son 2:1  I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.
Son 2:2  As a lily among thorns, so is My love among the daughters.
Son 2:3  As the apple among the trees of the forest, so is my Beloved among the sons. I delighted in His shadow, and I sat down; and His fruit was sweet to my taste.
Son 2:4  He brought me to the house of wine, and His banner over me was love.

Jacob’s desire for a helmet of salvation is what kept him safe in the land, under the shadow of the wings of the Most High.  This also goes for Joseph, dwelling in the Land of Egypt.

Gen 49:18  I have waited for your salvation, O Jehovah.

The rose field is also pointing to the land of Goshen, as the Nile delta is likened unto a rose.

The Vice President during Roosevelt’s Presidency was Charles W. Fairbanks.

Charles W. Fairbanks

Charles comes from the Germanic name ‘Karl’ which means a man.  Some believe it traces to the Germanic word ‘hari’ which means an army/warrior.

Warren comes from the Norman French word ‘warrene’ which means an animal enclosure.

Fairbanks means a lovely bank or hill.  Here we see the man Jacob and his family (army) who will desire protection from famine and travel to Egypt where they will dwell in the land of Goshen, the lovely bank set aside for shepherds (animal enclosure).  This could also be referring to Joseph in prison.

William Howard Taft was the next President, a picture of the protection God gives Jacob in the land of Canaan, and then into Egypt.  His Vice President was James S. Sherman.

James S. Sherman

James comes from Jacob meaning supplanter.  This is referring to Potiphar’s wife who, through deception, caused Joseph to be imprisoned.

Schoolcraft comes from the Middle English ‘schole’ meaning hut and ‘croft’ meaning small enclosed field.

Sherman is from an Old English surname meaning ‘shear man’ a person who cut cloth, or sheep’s wool.
Gen 41:14  And Pharaoh sent and called Joseph; and they rushed him from the dungeon. And he shaved and changed his clothing and came in to Pharaoh.

Woodrow Wilson was the next President, a picture of Israel dwelling in Goshen.  His Vice President was Thomas R. Marshall.

Thomas R. Marshall

Thomas comes from the Aramaic word תָּאוֹמָא ‘ta’oma’ meaning a twin but also full.  This is referring the 7 years of plenty that came to the land of Egypt according to Pharaoh’s dream.

Riley is a variant of the Irish surname Reilly which comes from Raghailleach.  All the sources I found say that Raghailleach is of unknown origin.  Is this speaking of Jacob going down to a land of the unknown and the doubt (Thomas) he felt?

Gen 46:2  And God said to Israel in visions of the night, and He spoke, Jacob! Jacob! And he answered, Behold me.
Gen 46:3  And He said, I am God, the God of your fathers. Do not fear to go down into Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there.
Gen 46:4  I will go down with you into Egypt, and I will also surely return you. And Joseph shall put his hand on your eyes.

Riley may also be related to a land of Rye, which is a type of wheat.
Exo 16:3  And the sons of Israel said to them, Would that we had died by the hand of Jehovah in the land of Egypt, in our sitting by the fleshpots, in our eating bread to satisfaction. For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill all this assembly with hunger.

Marshall comes from the Germanic ‘marah’ which means a horse and ‘scalc’ which means a servant.  Is this referring to being servants to Pharoah, who rode upon chariots?  Marshall traces back to the Hebrew word משל ‘mashal’ which means to rule.

Gen 41:42  And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand and put it on the hand of Joseph; and he clothed him with fine linen robes, and put a golden chain on his neck.
Gen 41:43  And he caused him to ride in a chariot which was the second to him. And they cried before him, Bow the knee! And he put him over all the land of Egypt.

Gen 41:55  And all the land of Egypt hungered and the people cried to Pharaoh for bread. And Pharaoh said to all Egypt, Go to Joseph; what he says to you, do.

The next President was Warren G. Harding, a picture of the continuation of Israel in Goshen.  Calvin Coolidge was his Vice President who would become the next President after Harding’s death.

Calvin Coolidge

His full name was John Calvin Coolidge.

John means the grace of God.

Calvin comes from the French name ‘Chauvin’ which derives from ‘chauve’ meaning bald.  The Hebrew word for bald, ריק ‘riyq’ also means bare.

Coolidge is from an Old English word ‘coll’ meaning a rocky ridge or escarpment.  This is speaking of a division of land.  Here we see a picture of Israel finding grace from God in the midst of famine or barreness, dwelling in Egypt in the land of Goshen which was separated from the Egyptians.

Gen 46:34  You shall say, Your servants have been men of livestock from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers. This is so that you may live in the land of Goshen. For the abomination of Egypt is every shepherd of flocks.

The Vice President during Coolidge’s Presidency was Charles G. Dawes.

Charles G. Dawes

Charles comes from the Germanic name ‘Karl’ which means a man.  Some believe it traces to the Germanic word ‘hari’ which means an army/warrior.

Gates:  The derivation is either from the Olde English pre 7th century word “geat” meaning a gate, or particularly in those areas of England controlled by the Vikings, the similar word of “gatu” meaning a street. Hence in the city of York streets are called ‘gates,’ and gates are known as ‘bars’. Medieval gates were often arranged in pairs, fastened in the centre, and hence the development of the surname Gates, being the plural.

Dawes is a diminutive of the Hebrew name David which means beloved.  Dawes could also be an Anglicization of the Gaelic name O’Deaghaidh which means ‘deagh’ good ‘adh’ lucky .  This could be referring to Jacob and his family coming into the gates of Goshen, a goodly land.
Gen 47:6  The land of Egypt is before you; cause your father and your brothers to live in the best of the land; let them live in the land of Goshen. And if you know men of ability among them, make them chiefs of livestock over what is mine.

Gen 47:11  And Joseph caused his father and his brothers to live, and gave them a place in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh commanded.

Herbert Hoover was the next President, a picture of Israel becoming the LORD’s army who bears the Word.  Hoover’s Vice President was Charles Curtis.

Charles Curtis

Charles again means a man or army, referring to Jacob and his children.

Curtis is an English surname from an Old French word ‘curtei’ that means ‘courteous, polite or well bred.’

Franklin D. Roosevelt was the next President, a continuing picture of Israel in Egypt.  His first Vice President was John Nance Garner.

John Nance Garner

John means the grace or camp of God.

Nance is a variant of the female name Ann, which comes from the Hebrew חַנָּה ‘chanah’ which means grace.

Garner means to gather grain, as well as a barn which is where grain is stored.  Here we see the grace of God reiterated in taking Israel down into Egypt in order to eat and not die.

The Vice President for Roosevelt’s third term was Henry A. Wallace.

Henry A. Wallace

Henry comes from the Germanic words ‘heim’ meaning home and ‘ric’ meaning power or ruler.

Agard is a Danish/Norwegian word which means ‘farm by the stream.’  A farm by a body of water, this is referring to Goshen that is located on the Mediterrean sea.

Wallace is from a Scottish surname which means foreigner.
The ‘home ruler’ Jacob and his children, foreigners, who dwell on the farm by the Mediterrean Sea.

The Vice President for Roosevelt’s fourth term was Harry S. Truman who would become the next President upon Roosevelt’s death.

Harry S. Truman

Harry is a diminutive of both Henry and Harold.   Henry means home power or ruler.  Harold comes from the Old English name Hereweald meaning leader of the army.  ‘Here’ meaning army and ‘weald’ meaning leader or ruler.

S is his middle name, chosen to please both grandfathers. Anderson Shipp Truman and Solomon Young.  Shipp is an occupational name of a boatbuilder or mariner.  Solomon means peaceful in Hebrew.

As mentioned previously, the letter S comes from the Greek ‘sigma’ which traces back further to the Hebrew letter ס ‘samekh.’  ס ‘samekh’ is the picture of a thorn and is related to hate.

Truman means a ‘trusty man’ in Middle English.

This is referring to Moses (Hebrews 3:2, 5), who was raised up during the days of the Pharaoh ‘who knew not Joseph,’ who hated Israel.  The faithful one in God’s house, whose life began on a boat (Exodus 2:3), destined to bring his people peace from the bondage of Pharaoh (Exodus 18:23; Acts 7:35).

Truman’s Vice President was Alben W. Barkley.

Alben W. Barkley

Alben is a Latin name meaning fair or blonde, which traces back to the Hebrew word לבן ‘lavan.’

לבן ‘lavan’ comes from the root בן ‘ben’ which means to build and is related to making bricks.

William comes from the Germanic words ‘wil’ meaning desire and ‘helm’ meaning the head, or helmet/protection.  Here we see Israel crying to God, desiring protection, while in bondage to the Pharaoh who knew not Joseph.

Exo 2:24  And God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
Exo 2:25  And God saw the sons of Israel, and God knew them.

Barkley is a variant of Barclay which means a birch tree meadow.
Birchard means ‘hardy birches, dweller of the hard birch.’  Birch comes from the English “Birch” with elements of Germanic “ard” meaning “hard” or “hardy”.  This word traces back further to the Hebrew word ברק ‘baraq’ which means bright or white, as in the bark of the birch tree.

The common name birch is derived from an old Germanic root, ‘birka,’ with the Proto-Indo-European root *bherəg, “white, bright; to shine.”

After fleeing from Esau and traveling towards Padan Aram, Jacob went to live with Laban (Genesis 28:2).  The name Laban in Hebrew means white.

Here we see the connection between the ‘bondage’ that Jacob experience in Padan-Aram serving Laban (brick maker) with the bondage in the land of Egypt.

The next President was Dwight D. Eisenhower, a picture of Moses being called at Mt. Horeb to go and deliver Israel.  Eisenhower’s Vice President was Richard Nixon who would later become President.

Richard Nixon

Richard means brave power from the Germanic words ‘ric’ meaning ruler or power and ‘hard’ meaning brave.

Milhous means miller’s house.  A miller is one who operates a machine to grind grain in order to produce flour for bread.

Nixon means son of Nicholas.  Nicholas is from the Greek name Νικολαος ‘Nikolaos’ which means ‘victory of the people.  From the Greek νικη ‘nike’ “victory” and λαος ‘laos’ “people”.

Here we see the victory of the people of Israel, called to be priests/rulers of the nations (Exodus 19:6).  Whose victory is intimately linked to bread. The manna given in the wilderness by the Hand of the Most High and the feast of Unleavened Bread, the festival of our freedom are reminders of this victory.

Deu 8:7  For Jehovah your God brings you into a good land, a land of streams of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills,

John F. Kennedy was the next President, a picture of the deliverance of Israel from Egypt by grace of God.  Kennedy’s Vice President was Lyndon B. Johnson who became President after Kennedy’s assassination.

Lyndon B. Johnson

Lyndon comes from the English surname derived from a place meaning ‘lime tree hill’ in Old English.  The linden or lime tree is a picture of the vine of Israel (Isaiah 6:13).

Baines has three possible origins.   The first is from the Gaelic ‘ban’ meaning fair or white.  The second is from the Old English ‘ban’ meaning a bone.  The third is from the Old French ‘bain’ meaning a bath.

Johnson means son of John, or grace/camp of God.

The vine planted in the promised land.  His fair bride, bone of His bones, washed from their iniquities.  The camp of God.

The Vice President during LBJ’s Presidency was Hubert Humphrey.

Hubert Humphrey

Richard Nixon was the next President, a picture of the victory of Israel over Egypt and the inhabitants of Canaan.  Nixon’s Vice President during his first term was Spiro Agnew.

Spiro Agnew

Spiro is a variant of Spyro which is a short form of Spyridon.  Spyridon comes from a Greek word σπυριδιον ‘spyridion’ which means a basket and is related to the Latin word ‘spiritus’ which means spirit.

Theodore comes from the Greek name Θεοδωρος ‘Theodoros’ which means ‘gift of God.’  θεος ‘theos’ “god” and δωρον ‘doron’ “gift”.

Agnew comes from the French ‘agneau’ which means a lamb.  Descriptive a meek or pious person.   The first fruits offering brought in a basket by believers was to remind them of their deliverance from Egypt and being brought into the promise land.  This was a gift from the Most High.  This is a foreshadowing of the Lamb of God, the true Gift of God, given to mankind to deliver them from their sins and bring them into the fulfillment of the Promised land, the Kingdom of Heaven.

The Vice President during Nixon’s second term was Gerald Ford who would become President after Nixon’s resignation.

Gerald Ford

Gerald is from the Germanic name meaning ‘rule of the spear.’  From ‘ger’ meaning spear and ‘wald’ meaning rule.  Again, spear and rod are synonymous in Hebrew.  Ruling over the nations is linked to the rod (Psalm 2:9; Revelation 2:27; 12:5; 19:15).

Rudolph is from a Germanic name ‘Hrodulf’ which is a combinatino of ‘hrod’ meaning fame and ‘wulf’ meaning a wolf.

Ford comes from a shallow place where a river or stream may be crossed.

Here we see Israel set up as rulers/priests to the nations, yet ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing’ (Matthew 7:15; Acts 20:29) entered their midst causing them to ‘cross over the river’ back into the ways of Babylon (Joshua 24:2).

Gerald Ford was born Leslie Lynch King Jr.

Leslie comes from the Gaelic ‘leas celyn’ meaning a garden of holly.  Holly is a picture of sun god worship, associated with the ivy of Bacchus/Saturn of which Israel went ‘a whoring’ after (Amos; 5:26; Acts 7:43).

Lynch is an Anglicized form of the Gaelic ‘Ó Loingsigh’ meaning a descendant of Loingseach.  Loingseach means a ‘long ship’ referring to a mariner.  In English, it is a topographic name for someone who lived on a slope or hillside from the Old English ‘hlinc.’  To lynch is to hang someone as a punishment for breaking the law.  Here we see a picture of backslidden Israel (Jeremiah 7:23-24; Hosea 4:16), traversing on the waters of Babylon (Revelation 17:1).

King comes from the Old English ‘cyning’ meaning a king.  The desire of Israel to have a king over them was the fruit of their rebellion.

1Sa 8:5  And they said to him, Behold, you have become old, and your sons have not walked in your ways. Now appoint a king to us, to judge us, like all the nations.
1Sa 8:6  And the thing was evil in Samuel’s eyes when they said, Give to us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed to Jehovah.
1Sa 8:7  And Jehovah said to Samuel, Listen to the voice of the people, to all that they say to you. For they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from reigning over them.
1Sa 8:8  According to all the works that they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt, even to this day, when they forsook Me and served other gods, so they are also doing to you.

1Sa 10:19  But today you have rejected your God who Himself is your deliverer from all your evils and your distresses; yet you say to Him, But set a king over us! And now present yourselves before the face of Jehovah, by your tribes and by your families.

The Vice President during Gerald Ford’s Presidency was Nelson Rockefeller.

Nelson Rockefeller

Nelson means the son of Neil.  Neil is from the Gaelic name ‘Niall’ which means a ‘champion’ or ‘cloud.’
1Sa 17:4  And a champion came out from the armies of the Philistines, Goliath was his name, from Gath; his height was six cubits and a span.
Aldrich is a Germanic word meaning ‘old ruler.’  Goliath was of the Rephaim, the mighty men of old.
Gen 6:4  There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
Rockefeller comes from the German words ‘rocke’ meaning rye and ‘field’ meaning open country.  Feller means a man.
1Sa 17:3  And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.
1Sa 17:4  And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

Röcke in German today means skirt.  The English word ‘skirt’ traces back to the Hebrew word קצר ‘qatsar’ which means the border, or image of a thing.  This is linked to the Hebrew word for garment סימלה ‘siymlah’ which literally means the image of the body, as a garment forms to the image of the one wearing it.

Röcke  in Chinese skirt, jacket, uniform, rock.  Here we see a picture of Goliath.  The champion, of the ‘old rulers’ the Rephaim, in the open country challenging Israel and defying the Most High.  It is interesting to note that the Scriptures pay particular attention to the ‘garments’ of Goliath.
1Sa 17:4  And a champion came out from the armies of the Philistines, Goliath was his name, from Gath; his height was six cubits and a span.
1Sa 17:5  And a bronze helmet was on his head, and he was clothed with scaled body armor; and the weight of the armor was five thousand shekels of bronze.
1Sa 17:6  And a covering of bronze was on his legs, and a javelin of bronze between his shoulders.
1Sa 17:7  And the wood of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and the blade of his spear weighed six hundred shekels of iron. And the shield bearer went before him.

Jimmy Carter was the next President, a picture of the days of David and victory of the Canaanites.  The Vice President during Carter’s Presidency was Walter Mondale.

Walter Mondale

Walter comes from the Germanic words ‘wald’ meaning ruler and ‘hari’ meaning an army.  Ruler of the army.

Frederick comes from the Germanic words ‘frid’ meaning peace and ‘ric’ meaning a ruler.  Peaceful ruler.

‘Fritz’ was Mondale’s nickname.  Fritz is a diminuitive of Friedrich which is another form of Frederick.

Mondale comes from the Norwegian Mundahl which means ‘valley.’

Here we see the transition from David, the warrior king, to Solomon the king of Peace.  Peace in the valley is a picture of the days of Messiah, of which Solomon was a shadow picture.

Hos 1:5  And it shall be in that day, I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.
Hos 2:15  And from there I will give her vineyards to her, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope. And she shall answer there as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
Hos 2:16  And at that day, says Jehovah, you shall call Me, My husband; and you shall no more call Me, My Baal.
Hos 2:17  For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth; and they shall no more be remembered by their name.
Hos 2:18  And in that day I will cut a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the birds of the heavens, and the creepers of the ground. And I will break the bow and the sword, and the battle out of the earth, and I will make them to lie down safely.
Hos 2:19  And I will betroth you to Me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in mercy, and in compassions.
Hos 2:20  I will even betroth you to Me in faithfulness. And you shall know Jehovah.
Hos 2:21  And it shall be in that day, I will answer, says Jehovah. I will answer the heavens, and they shall answer the earth.
Hos 2:22  And the earth shall hear the grain, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.
Hos 2:23  And I will sow her to Me in the earth. And I will have mercy on No Mercy. And I will say to Not My People, You are My people! And they shall say, My God!

Ronald Reagan was the next President, a picture of the days of Solomon and the split of Israel into two kingdoms.  The Vice President during Reagan’s Presidency was George H.W. Bush who would become the next President.

George H.W. Bush

George comes from the Greek word γεωργος ‘georgos’ meaning a farmer or earthworker.

Herbert comes from the Germanic words ‘hari’ meaning army and ‘beraht’ meaning bright.

Walker is an English surname which referred to the medieval occupation of a walker, also known as a fuller.  Walkers would tread on wet, unprocessed wool in order to clean and thicken it.  The word ultimately derives from Old English wealcan “to walk”.

In the Scriptures, the concept of the fuller is associated with the exile of Israel due to their rebellion.  Here we see in George HW Bush’s name, the story of Israel during the days of the Kings.  The ‘bright army’ of Israel, whose occupation was farmers (Joel 3:10) who rebelled against the Most High and His Word, ultimately leading to their exile from the land (Deuteronomy 29:28).  The Assyrian army advanced on Jerusalem from the North (Isaiah 10:28-32), the only accessible side for an army.  This was the place of the ‘fuller’s field’ (Isaiah 7:3; 36:2).

Bush is an from an Old English word ‘busc’ which means a bush.

In Hebrew בוש ‘bush’ means shame and is the origin of the English word for bush.  A bush is used to mark one’s land as well as hide one’s home for privacy.  The English word ‘ambush’ comes from this same concept.

Hos 10:6  It shall also be carried to Assyria, a present to King Jareb. Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

The Vice President during Bush’s Presidency was Dan Quayle.

Dan Quayle

James comes from Jacob which means to supplant or subtlety, referring to the battle between good and evil described throughout the Word.

Danforth comes from and Old English name meaning ‘ford in the valley.’

Joe 3:14  Multitudes, multitudes in valley of decision! For the day of Jehovah is near in the valley of decision.

‘Dan’ comes from the Hebrew word דן ‘dan’ which means judgment.

Quayle comes from the Old French surname ‘quaille’ which means quail.  It was used as a nickname for a timorous, lecherous or fat person, all of which describe this animal.
Eze 34:16  I will seek the lost, and I will return the banished. And I will bind up the broken, and I will make the weak strong. But I will destroy the fat and the strong, I will feed them with judgment.
Eze 34:17  And you, My flock, so says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I judge between lamb and lamb, between rams and he goats.
Eze 34:20  So the Lord Jehovah says this to them: Behold, I, even I, will even judge between the fat lamb and the lean lamb.

Deu 31:20  And I shall bring them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I have sworn to their fathers. And you shall eat and be satisfied, and become fat, and shall turn to other gods; and they shall serve them, and despise Me, and break My covenant.
Deu 32:13  He made him ride on the high places of the earth, so that he might eat the increase of the fields. And He made him suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;
Deu 32:14  butter from cows, and milk from the flock, with fat from lambs, and rams of the sons of Bashan, and he goats, with the fat of the kidneys of wheat, and of the blood of the grape you shall drink wine.
Deu 32:15  But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked; you grew fat, thick and sated. And he abandoned God who made him, and fell away from the Rock of his salvation.

It was the quail in the wilderness that was used to judge those who were filled with fleshly lust.
Exo 16:12  I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel. Speak to them, saying, Between the evenings you shall eat flesh; and in the morning you shall be satisfied with bread; and you shall know that I am Jehovah your God.
Exo 16:13  And it happened in the evening: the quail came up and covered the camp. And in the morning a layer of dew was around the camp.

Psa 78:24  and He rained on them manna to eat; yea, He gave the grain of the heavens to them.

Psa 78:32  In all this they sinned still; and they did not believe in His wonderful works;

The next President was Bill Clinton, a picture of the exile of Israel and the promise of the Prophets that repentance would lead to the regathering of His people back to their land.  The Vice President during Clinton’s Presidency was Al Gore.

Al Gore

‘Al’ is a diminuitive of Albert, but in Hebrew would be אל ‘el’ which means the strong leader, usually translated as God or על ‘al’ which means a yoke, which can be in reference to slavery.

Jeremiah speaks of the yoke of Babylon being sent as a punishment for Israel’s rebellion.
Lam 1:14  The yoke of my transgressions is bound by His hand, they intertwine, they rise on my neck. He caused my strength to falter. The Lord gave me into their hands. I am not able to rise up.

Gore is a spear or wedge shaped object.  An old term for a small, triangular shaped piece of land.  Recall that a triangle piece of land, as in Garfield, is linked to exile.  Garfield means a ‘triangle field’ or ‘spear field.’  Garfield comes from an English surname that derives from “gar” meaning triangular piece of land and “feld” meaning open space.

It is interesting to note that the remains of ancient Babylon exist primarily on ‘three vast mounds.’

“The Babil to the north, the Qasr or “Palace” (also known as the Mujelliba) in the centre, and the Ishgn “Amran ibn” All, with the outlying spur of the Jumjuma, to the south. Eastward of these come the Ishgn el-Aswador “Black Mound” and three lines of rampart, one of which encloses the Babil mound on the N. and E. sides, while a third forms a triangle with the S.E. angle of the other two.”

The next President was George W. Bush, a continuation of the  picture of the period of the exile of Israel, with the promise of redemption through the coming Redeemer.  Bush’s Vice President was Dick Cheney.

The current President is Barack Obama, whose Presidency is a picture of the days of Messiah coming to earth.  His Vice President is Joe Biden.

Joe Biden

Joseph comes from the Hebrew name יוֹסֵף ‘yoseph’ which means to add or gather.

Robinette comes from Robin which is a diminutive of Robert.  Robert comes from the Germanic name ‘Hrodebert’ which comes from ‘hrod’ meaning fame and ‘beraht’ which means bright.  Bright fame or name.  This is speaking of the fame of Messiah that spread about in the land when He walked the earth (Matthew 4:24; 9:26, 31; 14:1; Mark 1:28; Luke 4:14, 37; 5:15).  His fame is associated with the gatherings of the people (Isaiah 66:19).

Fame comes from the Hebrew word שם ‘shem’ which means name.  Jesus declares the Name of God and gathers together the peoples on the cross.

In the wilderness Israel was healed through looking upon the serpent on a pole.  This was a figure of being saved through ‘looking’ upon the Messiah on the cross/tree.

Num 21:9  And Moses made a serpent of bronze and put it on a pole; and it happened, if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.

Gen 22:7  And Isaac spoke to his father Abraham and said, My father. And he said, Behold me. And he said, Behold, the fire and the wood! But where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
Gen 22:8  And Abraham said, My son, God will see to the lamb for Himself, for a burnt offering. And the two of them went together.

הר האלהים ‘har elohim’ (the Mountain of God) has the numerical value of 296.  This is equivalent to לאור גוים ‘l`or goyim’ (For a light of the nations).  This links the Messiah on the cross on the Mountain of God to Light which points to the Menorah.  This will be seen in more detail below.

Isa 49:3  and said to Me, You are My servant, Israel, You in whom I shall be glorified. This verse is referring to Messiah as Israel, the Olive tree
Isa 49:6  And He said, It is too little that You should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You for a light of the nations, that You may be My salvation (ישועה ‘yeshuah’ – source of the name Jesus) to the end of the earth.

Isa 42:6  I, Jehovah, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand, and will keep You, and give You for a covenant of the people, for a Light of the nations;

Luk 2:32  a Light for revelation to the nations, and the Glory of Your people Israel.

Isa 40:5  And the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken.

How was His glory revealed?

Joh 8:28  Then Jesus said to them, When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM; and from Myself I do nothing; but as My Father taught Me, these things I speak.

Joh 19:19  And Pilate also wrote a title and put it on the cross. And having been written, it was: JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Joh 12:32  And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all to Myself (John 8:28 Messiah states this is how they will know He is ‘I AM’).
Joh 12:33  But He said this, signifying by what kind of death He was about to die.
Joh 12:34  The crowd answered Him, We heard out of the Law that The Christ remains to the age. And how do You say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?
Joh 12:35  Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while the Light is with you. Walk while you have the Light, that darkness not overtake you. And the one walking in the darkness does not know where he is going.
Joh 12:36  While you have the Light, believe into the Light, that you may become sons of Light. Jesus spoke these things, and going away He was hidden from them.
Joh 12:37  But though He had done so many miraculous signs before them, they did not believe into Him,
Joh 12:38  so that the Word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he said, “Lord, who has believed our report? And the arm of the Lord, to whom was it revealed?”
Isa. 53:1
Joh 12:39  Because of this they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,
Joh 12:40  “He has blinded their eyes” and “has hardened their heart,” “that they might not see with the eyes” and “understand with the heart,” “and be converted,” “and I should heal them.”
Isa. 6:10
Joh 12:41  Isaiah said these things when he saw His glory, and spoke about Him.

The pictographs of יהוה ‘Yahweh’ speak of Him being revealed through the nails in His Hands

Joh 20:27  Then He said to Thomas, Bring your finger here and see My hands, and bring your hand and thrust into My side, and be not unbelieving, but believing.
Joh 20:28  And Thomas answered and said to Him, My Lord and my God!

The Cross (ת ‘tav’) is linked with His Name

Eze 9:4  And Jehovah said to him, Pass through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and mark (תוה ‘tavah’) a mark (ת ‘tav’) on the foreheads of the men who are groaning and are mourning over all the abominations that are done in her midst.

Rev 14:1  And I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion! And with Him were a hundred and forty four thousands, with the name of His Father having been written on their foreheads.
Rev 22:4  And they will see His face; and His name will be on their foreheads.

His Name is the Word
Rev 19:13  and having been clothed in a garment which had been dipped in blood. And His name is called The Word of God.

We are marked by the Name of God
Rev 7:3  Do not harm the earth, nor the sea, nor the trees, until we seal the slaves of our God on their foreheads.
Rev 7:4  And I heard the number of those having been sealed: one hundred forty four thousands, having been sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel:
Rev 14:1  And I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion! And with Him were a hundred and forty four thousands, with the name of His Father having been written on their foreheads.

It is interesting to note that in Psalm 81:5, Joseph is rendered in Hebrew יהוסף ‘Yehoseph’ which means the LORD adds or gathers.
‘Joe’ is a diminuitive of Joseph but in context of the current message it is linked to the Sacred Name as ‘yo’ at the beginning of a name is in reference to יהוה ‘Yahweh.’  For example יוחנן ‘Yochanan’ from whence comes John, meaning the grace of Yah/God or יואל ‘Yoel’ from whence comes Joel and means Yah is God.

Biden comes from the German name ‘Beiden’ which means two.   Jesus came to gather the two houses of Israel.
Joh 10:11  I am the Good Shepherd! The Good Shepherd lays down His life on behalf of the sheep.
Joh 10:14  I am the Good Shepherd, and I know those that are Mine, and I am known by the ones that are Mine.
Joh 10:15  Even as the Father knows Me, I also know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
Joh 10:16  And I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must also lead those, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock, one Shepherd.
Joh 10:17  For this reason My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, that I may take it again.

The Speakers of the House and the Chief Justices also fit into this storyline perfectly. For more on this see “The Presidents Code.”
