Daily Tidbits 3/10 – The Blessing

Psa 133:3  like the dew of Hermon coming down on the mountains of Zion; for there Jehovah commanded the blessing: life till everlasting.

The Promise to Abraham was for all the earth to be blessed in His Seed (Genesis 12:2-3; 22:18; 26:4) who is Jesus Christ (Psalm 72:17; Galatians 3:16, 29).

Act 3:19  Therefore, repent, and convert, for the blotting out of your sins, so that times of refreshing may come from the face of the Lord,
Act 3:20  and that He may send forth the One before proclaimed to you, Jesus Christ,
Act 3:21  whom Heaven truly needs to receive until the times of restoration of all things, of which God spoke through the mouth of all His holy prophets from the age past.
Act 3:22  For Moses indeed said to the fathers, “The Lord your God will raise up to you a Prophet from among your brothers, One like me; you shall hear Him according to all things,” whatever He may speak to you. See Deut. 18:15-16, 19
Act 3:23  And it shall be that of every soul, whoever should not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.
Act 3:24  And also all the prophets, from Samuel and those following after, as many as spoke, also before announced these days.
Act 3:25  You are sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God appointed to our fathers, saying to Abraham, “Even in your Seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Gen. 22:18
Act 3:26  Having raised up His child Jesus, God sent Him first to you, blessing you in turning away each one from your iniquities.

Psa 32:1  A Psalm of David. A Contemplation. Blessed is he whose transgression is lifted, whose sin is covered.
Psa 32:2  Blessed is the man to whom Jehovah does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
Rom 4:7  “Blessed are those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;
Rom 4:8  blessed the man to whom the Lord will in no way charge sin.” LXX-Psa. 31:1, 2; MT-Psa. 32:1, 2

The blessing of forgiveness of sins is the essence of the New Covenant.

Jer 31:33  But this shall be the covenant that I will cut with the house of Israel: After those days, declares Jehovah, I will put My Law in their inward parts, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Jer 31:34  And they shall no longer each man teach his neighbor, and each man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah. For they shall all know Me, from the least of them even to the greatest of them, declares Jehovah. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.

Those who received the blessing shall inherit the earth.
Psa 37:22  For His blessed ones inherit the earth; and those cursed by Him shall be cut off.
Isa 60:21  And your people shall all be righteous; they shall possess the earth forever, a branch of My planting, a work of My hands, to beautify Myself.
Isa 61:9  And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all who see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed that Jehovah has blessed.

These are the overcomers, who have been given victory over the war that commenced at the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Rev 21:7  The one overcoming will inherit all things, and I will be God to him, and he will be the son to Me.
Rev 12:11  And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the Word of their testimony. And they did not love their soul even until death.

To bless is to give

Notice that the Hebrew word for blessing ברך ‘berekh’ comes from the root בר ‘bar’ which means ‘my son’ (Psalm 2:12; Proverbs 30:4)

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Eph 1:3  Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies with Christ,

2Co 9:15  But thanks be to God for His unspeakable free gift.

This gift of the Father of His Son, is the definition of love.

Num 6:22  And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
Num 6:23  Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, In this way you shall bless the sons of Israel, saying to them:
Num 6:24  Jehovah bless you and keep you;
Num 6:25  Jehovah cause His face to shine on you, and be gracious to you;
Num 6:26  Jehovah lift up His face to you, and give you peace.
Num 6:27  So they shall put My name on the sons of Israel, and I Myself will bless them.

The blessing = His Name.  His Name = His Word.
Rev 19:13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Rev 14:1  And I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion! And with Him were a hundred and forty four thousands, with the name of His Father having been written on their foreheads.
Rev 22:4  And they will see His face; and His name will be on their foreheads.
Deu 6:6  And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Deu 6:7  And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Deu 6:8  And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

Psa 67:1  To the chief musician, for stringed instruments. A Psalm. A song. May God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us. Selah.
Psa 67:2  That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation {ישועה ‘yeshuah’ – source of the name Jesus} among all nations.
