Daily Tidbits 12/18/11 – Snow & the Resurrection

In a previous tidbit, Daily Tidbits 12/14/11 – Snow & the Word it was shown how snow is a picture of the Word.  Snow is also a picture of the resurrection of believers into the image of Messiah/the Word.

The Greek word for snow is χιών ‘chiōn’ which comes from a combination of two words.  χάσμα ‘chasma’ which means a gulf or gapening opening (as in the ground opening up to give up the dead – Matthew 27:53-54) and χειμών ‘cheimōn’ which means winter or rainy season.

The Garments of Messiah are linked to snow
Dan 7:9  I was looking until the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of Days sat, whose robe was white as snow and the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was like flames of fire, its wheels like burning fire.
Dan 7:10  A stream of fire went out and came out from before Him. A thousand thousands served Him, and a myriad myriads stood before Him. The judgment was set and the books were opened.
Rev 1:14  And the hairs of His head were white as white wool, as snow, and His eyes as a flame of fire;
Rev 1:15  and His feet like burnished brass having been fired in a furnace; and His voice as a sound of many waters;

Mar 9:6  For he did not know what to say, for they were very fearful.
Mar 9:7  And a cloud was overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son,” the Beloved; hear Him. Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Deut. 18:15
Mar 9:8  And suddenly, having looked around, they saw no one any longer, but Jesus alone with themselves.

The garments designed for the priests were a shadow picture of the resurrected believers who are clothed in white, likened unto snow.  Being clothed with God’s righteousness is linked with the earth springing forth plants.

Isa 61:10  Rejoicing I will rejoice in Jehovah. My soul shall be joyful in my God. For He clothed me with garments of salvation; He put on me the robe of righteousness, even as a bridegroom dons as a priest his head-dress, and as a bride wears her ornaments.
Isa 61:11  For as the earth comes out with her buds, and as a garden causes that which is sown to grow, so the Lord Jehovah will make righteousness and praise to grow before all the nations.

Psa 132:9  Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Your saints shout for joy.
Psa 132:16  And I will clothe her priests with salvation; and her saints shall surely shout.

The fine linen that the priests wore (Exodus 28:5, 8, 15 etc.) is from the following Hebrew word which means white & the number 6:

Snow is white and in a hexagonal shape.

The garments of the priest were worn to display that iniquity was not upon them (Exodus 28:43).  The white linen is the righteousness of the saints (Revelation 19:7-9).  What is Righteousness?  It is the Word/Christ.

Psa 119:172  My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.
Isa 51:7  Hear Me, those knowing righteousness, the people of My Law in their heart; do not fear the reproach of man, and do not be bowed from their blasphemings.

Rom 13:14  But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Gal 3:27  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Psa 71:15  My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation (תשעה ‘teshuah’ a cognate of ישע ‘yesha’) all the day; for I do not know the numbers.
Psa 71:16  I will come in the strength of the Lord Jehovah; I will speak of Your righteousness, of Yours alone.

Rev 7:13  And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
Rev 7:14  And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Rev 19:8  And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

How is the bride made ready?  With the washing of water by the word, just as snow that falls from heaven ‘washes’ the earth during winter.
Eph 5:26  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Eph 5:27  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Isa 60:21  And your people shall all be righteous; they shall possess the earth forever, a branch of My planting, a work of My hands, to beautify Myself.

His priesthood are those who are born again, resurrected into His Image which is the Word of God.
1Pe 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Being born again=chosen/elect.  We are born again by the Word being implanted into our hearts and watered until it brings forth life, fruit.  The word translated into English as elect or chosen is a Greek word ἐκλεκτός ‘eklektos’ which when broken down to its root  {ἐκ ‘ek’– from λέγω ‘lego’– the Word}  means “by or from the Word”
