Daily Tidbits 1/18/12 – Booming Sands

There is an interesting phenomenon in nature known as ‘booming sands’ which displays the concept of the seed of Abraham, the body of Messiah and unity.

Booming Sands

“There are about 30 locations around the world that are described as ‘booming dunes’ due to the sound that the sand emits.  It sounds like a sustained musical note.  For a dune to ‘boom’ it must be at least 150 feet high; there must be loose, dry sand of similar particle size at the top and a hard layer below.  The sounds recorded fall into the musical range of either E, F or G.”

On a spiritual level this is very interesting.  Sand in the Scriptures is a shadow picture of the Body of Messiah.

The Seed shall be as the sand

Gen 22:17  that blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the shore of the sea. And your Seed shall possess the gate of His enemies.

As it is written in Galatians 3:16, the Seed is Christ Jesus.  Those who are in Him are counted as the seed (Romans 9:8), those who are born again through Him (1Peter 1:23; 1 John 3:9; James 1:18; 21;).  Those who are born again in His image.  Genesis 1:11 says that the tree will produce fruit ‘according to His kind, whose seed is in Himself.’

Back to the ‘booming sands’

The sand must be loose so that the wind can move it…

Joh 3:5  Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, If one is not generated out of water and Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6  That having been generated out of the flesh is flesh, and that having been generated out of the Spirit is spirit.
Joh 3:7  Do not wonder because I said to you, You must be generated from above.
Joh 3:8  The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice; but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone having been generated from the Spirit.

It must be similar size/maturity/image.

Gal 4:19  My children, for whom I again travail until Christ should be formed to you,

Rom 8:29  because whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.
Rom 8:30  But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Rom 13:14  But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not make forethought of the flesh, for its lusts.

Col 3:10  and having put on the new, having been renewed in full knowledge according to the image of the One creating him,
Col 3:11  where there is no Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythian, slave or freeman, but Christ is all things and in all.

Moving together to form a single sound

Baptism is a picture of being born again, into the body of Messiah (1 Corinthians 12:13; Colossians 3:11; Galatians 3:27-28).  Interestingly the word for unison traces back to ‘son’ the root of word ‘sound.’

If one takes two stringed instruments that are tuned the same (in harmony) and one plucks the string of the first, the other instrument’s string will vibrate and produce same sound.

Joh 10:16  And I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must also lead those, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock, one Shepherd.

Is it just coincidence that ‘consonant’ comes from the same root ‘son’ in English?  Could it also be coincidence that the Hebrew alphabet is made up of all consonants?  This same Hebrew alphabet that makes up the Word.  The Word that became flesh and dwelt among us. Is this why Zephaniah prophesied that the clear lip of Hebrew would be returned to us (Zephaniah 3:9)?

Rom 15:6  that with one accord and with one mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The English word ‘accord’ traces back to the Italian word ‘accordare’ which means “to attune an instrument” and the Latin word ‘accordare’ which means to “make agree,” literally to “be of one heart.”  Again a reference to being born again or circumcision of the heart.  How is the heart circumcised?  Through the Word/Jesus (Hebrew 4:12; Luke 24:31-32; Acts 2:37; Jeremiah 32:39-40; Colossians 2:11).

It is through this circumcision/entering of the Word that Light comes forth (Psalm 119:130), just as ‘Light’ came forth from the womb of Mary.  The Spirit hovering over the waters in the beginning connects to the Spirit hovering over the womb of the Virgin Mary which led to her giving birth to the Messiah, the Light of the world.  His body, the ‘manchild’ is born in the same manner as seen in Revelation 12.  Revelation 12 shows the birth of Messiah and the birth of His Body/Bride/Manchild/Zion.  Zion is a people (Isaiah 51:16), Zion is a land (Psalm 48), a city on a hill bringing forth the Light of God (Matthew 5:14).

The earth came forth from the waters on day 3, Christ was resurrected on the 3rd day (Matthew 12:40), His people are raised up on the 3rd day (Hosea 6:3).  The earth comes out of the water with 7 land masses, Jerusalem is a land with 7 mountains (1 Enoch 17:6-8).  His body, pictured by the Menorah has 7 branches, the Messiah was anointed with the 7 Spirits of God (Revelation 5:6; Isaiah 11:1-3).

The Hebrew word circumcision comes from:

מול ‘mul’ comes from the root:

Or it could be said ConSONants brought together to form Words.  Each of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet have different meanings since Hebrew is a pictographic language.  Different parts come together to form the Word.  Just as different parts of the Tabernacle, which had different functions came together to become ONE (Exodus 36:13).

1Co 12:12  For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
1Co 12:13  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1Co 12:14  For the body is not one member, but many.

Sand & Resurrection

“There are about 30 locations around the world that are described as ‘booming dunes’ due to the sound that the sand emits.  It sounds like a sustained musical note.  For a dune to ‘boom’ it must be at least 150 feet high; there must be loose, dry sand of similar particle size at the top and a hard layer below.  The sounds recorded fall into the musical range of either E, F or G.”

Interestingly, the frequency of the shofar is 376hz which is slightly higher than an F# note.  The color green, according to Isaac Newton was also in this F frequency range.

The Voice of the Messiah is likened to the shofar.

Rev 1:10  I came to be in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Rev 1:11  saying, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last; also, What you see, write in a scroll, and send to the seven assemblies of Asia: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

It is His Voice that resurrects the dead

Joh 5:25  Truly, truly, I say to you that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the ones hearing will live.
Joh 5:28  Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear His voice.
Joh 5:29  And they will come out, the ones having done good into a resurrection of life; and the ones having practiced evil into a resurrection of judgment.

1Th 4:16  Because the Lord Himself shall come down from Heaven with a commanding shout of an archangel’s voice, and with God’s trumpet. And the dead in Christ will rise again first.
Mat 24:31  And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens to their ends.
1Co 15:52  In a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet; for a trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed.

As mentioned above, it is the voice of the Shepherd (קול ‘qol’) that gathers us together as one.

The word for sand in Hebrew, חול ‘chol’, also points to birth & resurrection.

Among the numerous meanings of this word, one means to ‘calve’, or give birth.  Amazingly, this is mentioned in Scripture as a result of hearing the Voice (קול ‘qol’) of God.

Psa 29:9  The voice of Jehovah causes the does to calve (חול ‘chul’); and He uncovers the forests. And in His temple it all is saying, Glory!

This word for sand (חול ‘chol’), is also translated as dance and is a reference to the regathering of Israel…

Jer 31:13  Then the virgin shall rejoice in the dance, both young men and elders together. For I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

This happens when the great shofar is blown (Isaiah 18:3; 27:13).

Sand – belly connection

Isa 48:19  And your seed would have been like the sand (חול ‘chol’), and your offspring of your bowels (מעה ‘me’eh’) like its grain (מעה ‘me’ah’); his name would not have been cut off nor destroyed from My presence.

Sand & Zion

The word Zion, in Hebrew comes from the Hebrew word for desert.

From the root:

Zion & the Olive Tree

What is the definition of scion (pronounced Zion)?

SCION. [See Cion.]

CION, n. A young shoot, twig or sprout of a tree, or plant, or rather the cutting of a twig, intended for ingrafting on another stock; also, the shoot or slip inserted in a stock for propagation.

Isa 51:16  And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

Isa 8:16  Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
Isa 8:17  And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
Isa 8:18  Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs (אות ‘ot’ – flag, beacon, monument) and for wonders (מופת ‘mopheth’ – conspicuousness, miracle, sign, wonder) in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

The Signs/waymarks are the children of Messiah.  His people.  This is  seen in the vision of Revelation 12.

Rev 12:1  And a great sign was seen in the heavens, a woman having been clothed with the sun, and the moon was underneath her feet; and on her head a crown of twelve stars;

The Olive tree points to the resurrection/born again experience

Rom 11:15  For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? (Ezekiel 37; Zechariah 12:10; Micah 5:3)

True unity will come when Christ returns and regathers us (Isaiah 52:8; Jeremiah 3:17-18; 31:8-13; 50:3-7; Micah 2:12)  where we will be resurrected into His Image (1 Corinthians 15:49; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Psalm 17:15; Romans 8:28-30; Galatians 3:26-29; Hebrews 13:21).  This is when believers will see ‘eye to eye’ (Isaiah 52:8).  This is when the ‘booming sands’ will be heard.
